A sort of good day. Charity shop-wise, splendid. Skipton was laden with good things but not all were the chip free or ahem reasonably priced. I still got Denby cinnamon teaplates, side plates & even dinner plates! and a Denby potters wheel teapot.
Himself was bought six little Pearson’s butter dishes (as I know he has several others), and found a Soyer cookbook, which he was very pleased with. (The Soyer stove was a wonderful war time cook stove and we’d love to find one!)0 -
Saw the perfect pair of shoes in our hospice shop the other week but had to ignore them as since losing father-in-law a bit more than a year ago, we no longer go to his masonic ladies evenings (dinner and dance, raffle etc for chairty, bit like going to a black tie, evening wedding without the ceremony) but....
This weekend MiL declared that we are all going to one in April (will be the first time in almost two years, DD was 10 DAYS old at the last one we went to, I was adamant all pregnancy that we'd go!) so I went straight back to the CS after dropping DS to nursery this morning and they were still there, perfect low heel, simple strap top and bottom, dull silver, my size, from New Look (would have been about £25 new) £3.50. SO pleased.Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Jan 2012: £16,000+ [STRIKE] Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Sep 2013: £13,023 [/STRIKE]

Ugh!!! Hate change....having trouble finding my way around now. Anyone know how to change settings....I always had mine set to show latest post first and can't find how to change from first post first iykwim...aaarrgghh!
Anyhoo....the chazza fairy seems to have lost her way this week. Despite visiting at least one chazza every day...found nowt. Tho I did see a large amount of Denby Whisper in Oxfam in Otley and it included the teapot priced at £7.99. I cracked the base of mine yonks ago but as I never seem to use a teapot these days it seems a waste of money to replace it. Keep thinking about it tho!!

I hate change too - plus the site kept telling me I didn’t exist!
I had an unexpectedly free afternoon yesterday, and treated myself to a mooch around several chazzers in a nearby town. I bought a number of nice things which were inexpensive:
a firefighter hat for obsessed tiny grandson (£1)
a grey felted wool handbag inner (the sort of thing you swap quickly between bags with all the stuff you regularly need already in it) - brand new with tags, £1
Four packs x three ladies handkerchiefs, brand new, £1
A grey fleece throw (for the dog to lie on) and a pure wool Scottish tartan fringed throw, 80p each
Two Disney costumes, for the dressing up box in the primary class my daughter teaches (50p each!)
And best of all, an electric jam maker (the one they sell in Lakeland for £149) in perfect condition, still boxed with instructions and not looking as though it was ever used (£10). I was so happy with this - I love a gadget, but couldn’t justify the brand new shop price so had been quietly lusting after one for ages. Mister CJ just looked at it in a bewildered sort of way and said “b-but you’ve got saucepans!”. Which is true, but is not the point.

Finding it difficult to navigate 🤷♀️ Doesn’t help that I haven’t posted for a long time due to family affairs.
anyhow, v pleased with the thick, soft, cream cotton blanket I got for £3.99 today. Also a book about the 1950s which i’ll use at the dementia Café and 3 brand new local cookery books for 99p each - all to take abroad as presents 🎁4 -
Have we lost the ability to thank people? I can't see a button anywhere ......6
