Today's finds:-
An Autograph pure cashmere jumper in a dusty pink colour. £2 in the Sue Ryder Hospice shop. (note to Pollycat - it is now chilling nicely in a plastic bag in the freezer prior to washing!) It's a size too big but I am very good at shrinking woollies (usually unintentionally!). In the same shop a CKJ, (Calvin Klein Jeans), long line black sweater with a polo neck that has side poppers so you can wear it several ways and with CKJ in teeny diamontes at the hip, also £2. Then in the community chazza a BNWT electric blue long line blouse from Dunnes with long sleeves and small gold buttons - spotted it when it was £6, today half price at £3.0 -

Oh.
I so have cashmere envy.
No idea if the freezer trick works - and after 4 days of slaving over the cooker and putting 4 lamb sheperds pie bases, 4 beef, 5 pork and 8 single portions of corned beef hash in the freezer, I really don't think I could fit even a drop-dead gorgeous cashmere jumper in.
But if I'd had the chance to buy one, you can bet it would be in there, cuddling up to something or other.0 -
OK, you would probably need to hit me on the head with the frozen cashmere before I recognized it, but once found, I would be feeding the chaps very hearty meals in order to make space in the freezer!
I now have corned beef hash portioned ready to go envy.0 -
Yesterday I went into a charity shop and saw a nice, fleece Damart duffle coat for £9.99. Several years ago I bought the identical coat for.....£9.99 brand new in the Damart sale.
By huge coincidence the next one I went into had the same coat but different colour for £3 and the last shop had the same as the first for £6. Same town centre, different pricings!0 -
Gerry Webber short quilted jacket. £7.50. Really pleased as it's one of my favourite labels. All that clutter used to be money0

Of all delights to come home to, a Denby imperial blue teacup & 3 saucers plus a footed mug in jewel purple that researches as Denny storm!
That man knows Exactly how to take my mind off a long Friday...
(Although, how long does corned beef hash envy usually last?)0 -
Gently assembling a layette for DGD, due in February. My local CS may not stock much in my size, but are very good indeed for baby/toddler clothes thanks to the generosity of local young families.
So far I have found 7 first size stretch suits, average price 75p each, and 8 first size vests, averaging 50p each. Now looking for 3-6 months size clothing, whilst also watching for things for DGS.
I think of it as a hobby nowI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
I don't get to the charity shops much these days, but I stopped at a couple in my home town this morning as I was up for a visit. Whilst at the butchers, a dress in the window caught my eye in the local hospice shop.
On closer inspection, it is Monsoon Twilight, pure silk and a size 16 so I walked away (I'm a 12). I got chatting to one of the volunteers outside though and she convinced me to try it on - well, it only fits like a glove! Perfect for a charity ball in a month, and means that I don't have to wear the dress I wore (out with the same people) on Thursday night - cost me £15.

I'm thinking of using existing navy shoes and bag? It's a wine colour in real life. I also have black, or cream, or silver sets.
The second charity shop had a Le Creuset casserole dish which I was very tempted by (I don't have any, even though I adore their ranges) but I already have a large cast iron one, and a smaller ceramic one, so I didn't think I'd get any use out of it and at £10, decided to pass.0 -
Gorgeous dress, I love silk. I would go with the silver accessories personally, but all your options would be lovely.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
