For those of us for whom the minidress is frankly unbecoming, the longer Georgie dress is in pattern testing & should be out in September likewise free. Fond as I am of designer labels, I may venture out & give that a go, as I can always donate it to a charity shop (with the Mary Quant designer details, naturally) if it becomes me not.
What a sweetie you are, DFV. :kisses3:
That's a lovely pattern, especially the one with white collar and pocket trim.
I might have a rummage amongst my fabric stash to see if I have anything suitable0 -

Oh lawks....I remember buying something in a very similar style from MQ multi several years agoIt was made from burgundy corduroy and was meant to be worn with a black polo neck jumper underneath, thick black tights and Mary Jane patent shoes. And you had to stand in that knock kneed pose like Twiggy
Ho hum....anyhoo, today's find was an M & Co blue and white flower patterned shift dress, (think Delft stylee colours/pattern) in heavy cotton with a bit of stretch and fully lined from BHF and priced at £4.99. BNWT and originally cost £39.00. I've always been a bit sniffy about M & Co but they seem to have upped their game quality-wise lately....0 -
Pollycat - I actually had your thoughts on Tu in my mind when I bought the dress! I agree with you - I got los of compliments on it, loved wearing it and it is great quality for the money - by which I mean for the original price of £20, even before we get to the £4.95 I paid for it. An important lesson for me to branch out in to new brands when charity shopping. So nice to have a dress with pockets and the material is great. Very happy.
Am having my hair done tomorrow in affluent local town so will pop to the 3 charity shops on the high street for a look around. Great to hear everyone's finds as usual! :j0 -
The rain it raineth. So we didn’t get as far as planned but Ramsbottom has wonderful charity shops! Saw something painfully close to a Langley match striker of the 1930s in a possible variation of daisyware but £15 and absolutely no base stamps whatsoever. Shrugged & walked away.
Did seize on a circular posy trough that is in the anaemic Langley pale green but the inkstamp isn’t in the book - I think it’s early 1950s or so but could easily be out!0 -
I shouldn't be allowed out, really, but i've had the most unexpectedly glorious morning of CS shopping. I had my hair done in the affluent small town near us, and thought I should pop in to the 3 shops on the High Street, since I was there. I am VERY glad I did:
- These were the last purchase of the day but the best. For ages now I have wanted a pair of white trainers, but I've never known which sort or wanted to spend loads of ££ on them. As I waled out of the Isabel Hospice shop today I spied a pair of white trainers in the window and had to turn back. They are adidas superstars, and were in my size. Unbelievable. Slightly worn inside but pristine outside. £20, so not cheap, but RRP is £79.95. I love them so much I haven't taken them off since I got home!
- A jigsaw top in deep maroon. Front is slightly silky material and the rest is jersey. Will be fabulous for work in the autumn. £5.99.
- A grey felt winter hat, BNWT from per una. I love hats. 100% wool, £3.99, 100% ready for me for the autumn.
- A pair of Gap skinny jeans, £3.99. Good condition. This is the Age uk shop that doesn't have a changing room, so I can return if they don't fit. In the past I have been fine with a 12 in Gap, but I have put on about 5lbs recently, so we'll see.
- A red jacket/cardigan (not sure which) with a pattern on the back. It is 100% wool. Strangely cannot find the brand anywhere online at all (Scribo, apparently). Great cut and wrap-over effect at the front. Difficult to explain this one but will be beautiful come September.
- A pair of dull yellow suede slip-on shoes from a Brazilian brand called Tchocco. Great condition, very comfy and stylish. I wonder if they might be TKMaxx. £6.99.
- a pair of maroon loafers from a brand called Dolce Vita. They appear to be American but again I wonder if they made their way to the UK via TKMaxx. Online prices are $100-130 dollars. These were £5.99.
Feeling EXTREMELY lucky indeed - I spent far more than I wanted to, but I am happy with everything I got!

Magpie - you sound like you've been having fun.
I have been out walking in the Peak District in the wind and rain (so much better than sitting inside) with DH. We have called into several CS's and have made a few purchases.
DH got a pair of Karrimor Trail Running pants in dark green, zips to ankles, pockets for phone and zip pocket for key £3.99, these look barely worn. I got a Craghoppers Solar Shield short sleeve shirt in green, pink and white checks, will be great for walking £2.25, a pair of Nike Dri Fit running capris, grey abstract pattern with white polka dots £3.50 and lastly another Lazy Jacks sweatshirt, no hood this time, 3 button neckline and stand up collar lined in pink fluffy fleece, mid blue with white stripes £4.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Thought of you - just gone past Denby Pottery on the bus home from a day in the city.
Will report bargains tomorrow.0 -
Dolly - ooh - love the sound of the capris! Today I almost bought a pair of Nike Golf shorts (no, I don't play golf, but they were knee length and dri-fit so would have been good for walking). I always pick up Nike stuff when I see it - these said 'Large', which I thought was odd as they looked quite small. Anyway, I wandered about a bit, trying a few things on and picking stuff up and putting it back down again. Then I looked at the shorts one more time and realised that although they were a large...they were Boys shorts. For children. :rotfl:
I forgot to say I also bought a navy jacket/cardigan from a brand called Rade 1920. German, and pricey. I don't know how or why but I find so much international stuff on my travels!
The Age UK shop had loads of shoes and boots this visit. I was very sad to leave behind a pair of Miss KG (Kurt Geiger's cheaper range) black boots with a fringe. Unworn. They were a 37, and I am a 38. I could get them on over my trainer liners, but they were tight. Sob. £12.99 so not worth taking a chance on. Then I fixated on a pair of black M&S ankle boots - again great condition. But they were a 39, so too big!
I also turned down a BNWT cycling top AND BNWT cycling trousers. They were Crane. which is Aldi, and not that cheap (£8.99 for the top) but I keep thinking about them. I don't cycle enough to justify it. And I have spent enough!0 -

Today’s bargain was an Osprey black shoulder bag. I’m having to move from using my lovely big designer handbags to using much smaller lighter ones due to osteoarthritis in my shoulders (I’m only 50 😁🤦!♀️) and this is a happy cross between the two0
