I’m trying to stay away from all shops atm but also when I do shop consider secondhand before buying new.

The last thing I got was a limited edition Bialetti coffee pot for £2. Was so chuffed.

We were in Edinburgh briefly on Sunday and nipped in a charity shop on passing for a browse. It was fab and full of good stuff but very high pricing. Did see a pair of lovely Reiker ankle boots that were hardly worn and looked like new for £7.99 but they were too big :(. Would have been perfect for the winter as my hardy Uggs are starting to look worse for wear and need replacing, and they would have looked good with skirts or jeans. Never mind I will find what I’m looking for eventually.

Pollycat, you were not robbed, you selected carefully, got the good stuff & should now get a small tray to nest them on & then fill them with olives & almonds & lish nibblesome things that persuade you into another drink...

You should also update your Will so they come to me in a few decades time?! Plan to have lots of different things to fit into the dishes when the medics abscond with the function of your other foot?!
    :D

    I've been at it again.

Oxfam have had a selection of Denby Greenwich for a while.
I looked at salt and pepper pots a few weeks ago but they each had a £4.99 price on.
These are the taller style rather than the dumpy ones that I already have.
Anyway, I was ruminating on them and the guy said 'if you're interested, I'll knock £1.00 off as we've had them for a while'.
    'So £7.98 for the 2', I said.
    'No, £3.99 for the pair'.
    So I splurged.

In our local hospice shop, I found a small enamelled frog brooch.
Bright gold in colour with vivid green enamel.
It should have had 4 tiny sparkly stones on its back but one was missing.
Instead of £3.50, the chap let me have it for 50p.
    I love frogs. :)

After a week of finding no bargains in the chazza shops I was not expecting much today. However...I trundled into the big Mind shop behind two yummy mummies with Landrover sized buggies, copious Waitrose bags and various offspring. Across the shop I spotted a dress on the rails that I was sure had my name on it so like a Blue Streak rocket I shot across the shop sending YM's/buggies/Waitrose goodies and assorted toddlers flying :D. I was right!!! It was a Long Tall Sally A line/skater type dress in a heavy black and turquoise floral patterned fabric. Sleeveless and fitted into the waist with a lining that has a bit of net attached to the skirt to give a slight sticky out effect. Supposed to be knee length but I must be short, (5'9") in LTS terms as it comes to mid calf on me :) Fits beautifully and I love it. Priced at £6.50 and BNWT!! Found it online...£90 originally and currently in the sale at £45. Oh happy days :j

(Actually it looks a lot nicer than the photo!!)

miro - that was a good find, LTS is quite scarce I find. I'm about the same height as you and I can't wear their jeans, I have a 34" inside leg and they are just too long for me, I can wear their trousers so they must be a shade shorter.

The thing I particularly like about LTS is that they seem to fit the waist of garments reasonably close to where mine happens to be! Lots of other retailers (esp M&S!!) now seem to have the waist for dresses far too high so I look as if I'm wearing an empire line :(

Today I visited our Air Ambulance £1 shop.
I found a Minuet bottle green lurex short cardigan that is designed like a jacket with a collar and fab big beaded buttons. Also detachable shoulder pads (that will be detached).
A M&S short cardigan in a minty colour ('seafoam' according to M&S - I'd not argue).
A BNWT M&S Autograph black dress. Fully lined with a crepe over blouse.
Not sure if it will fit
Not sure if it's 'me' even if it does fit.
But with a M&S price tag of £99, reduced to £40, how could I resist?
    Each item £1.00.

Our Hospice warehouse shop is moving premises, and what stock they have left is being discounted, including half price on all bric-a-brac.

For the grand total of £1 I came out with a Cath Kidston large mug, another unbranded mug that is now my favourite - it says "A cup of tea makes everything better", and two of those acrylic make-up organisers that TK Maxx sell for about a fiver each. Not a mark on any of my finds, as new after a good wash.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

The £3 and under cancer research shop now no longer seems to be sticking to anywhere near that policy with a very strange assortment of prices. Anyway I got a running top for DD with wicking properties etc for £2 so even if couch to 5k is a flash in the pan it doesn’t really matter with such little outlay. Dh got a pair of like new timberland jeans for £5 and I got 4mtrs of Andrew Martin Caroline Quartermaine July fabric in biscuit with a red flower for £7

miro - I love LTS sleeves, it feels like a luxury - especially in a shirt - to have sleeves that go to my wrist, 'normal' brands don't do them anywhere near long enough for me so they are uncomfortable in my size or I have to go large. The exceptions to that are Crew Clothing, Jack Wills and some Seasalt.

    pollycat - £1 for a £99 dress - wow.

I will be going on my usual Saturday hunt today.

A new town so new charity shops for me today ... it's an affluent area right at the end of a tube line.

A very pretty pink floral dress by a brand called Louche. I had never heard of it but it's this: https://www.joythestore.com/womenswear/clothing/dresses/printed-dresses

None of these are quite the same as the one I bought, but it's very similar. £14, so top end pricing; a lot of ££ but given they are RRP £45-55 a bargain. Planing to wear it to a garden party 40th tomorrow.

A pair of unworn light summer shoes. The brand is the hip tee: https://www.thehiptee.com/en/content/63-the-brand. Their website is inexplicable, with no discernible prices, or indeed stock - I think they are in-store only. Anyway, they are Spanish! Shoes were £8.99 and very similar to Toms, which I like and have had in the past but only last 18 months or so for me.

A Nike lightweight jacket. Very pleased with this. £12 - so again not cheap, but this is in perfect condition and I will wear it a lot as I do a lot of outdoor exercise. It's quite long. Nike RRP will be £40-50 I should think.

Two camisole vests by Ann Taylor. I think this is an American brand. These are pale blue and cream and were £1.50 each. I always find this sort of undervest really handy as soon as autumn hits and I will get a lot of wear out of them. I also find I can't keep these very pale colours from going grey eventually so I am happy to pay £1.50 for each because I'll probably only get 6 months wear out of them.

A French Connection top for £4.50. Green, pinks and greys with a pattern of Chinese-style landscapes and animals (tigers, birds, etc). I find FC reasonable quality but overpriced new so pleased with this.

Am still enjoying putting all my finds on Instagram and mostly when I go to work I am now head-to-toe secondhand, which makes me extremely happy!

Enjoying reading about everyone's recent finds. Happy weekend! :j
