    little Lovatts splay topped jug
Ah. Maybe I should point out Lovatts is parent of Langley was bought out by Denby & having had a snootch at the basestamp, it is still a flower arranging jug, just a 1950-1959 made one.

(Son very nearly practiced his bowling til I pointed out it does belong in the Great Wall & thought I'd share the research...)

Laredouter - thanks for asking - it did! Very pleased (and relieved). Washed fine, and I am wearing it today along with a white top from a charity shop, and trainers from the same. I have already been told I look 'well co-ordinated' this morning! :rotfl:

Dh and I had a weekend in which daughters were otherwise engaged so we managed to enjoy cs and garden centre shopping. We headed off to Louth in Lincolnshire which not only has an abundance of cs shops but is also nice to walk around and is a pleasant drive from us. They have a Sue Ryder £1 shop where dh got some black work trousers and I got a pair of fly London trainers and a seasalt coatigan obviously £1 each. They had a “boutique section in the back where expensive items were £5. I got a ladies black leather biker type jacket I’ve been hankering after 1 to wear with dresses but at the age of 50 was reluctant to spend real money on one as I may not wear it. Dh also got a leather jacket which on closer inspection is from Barneys in America similar currently selling for one thousand dollars or more !!!!

We then went to a more expensive cs where dh got a dolce and gabanna cardigan £3.50 similar on website £575 and I got dd a dc comics t shirt for £1 from the reduced rail. On returning home we insisted on showing our booty to the dds who were surprisingly unimpressed with our purchases!

To top the weekend off we went to a car boot yesterday where I got a joules jersey dress for £2.

The nice thing is that we are having a bit of a garage clear out and all purchases were paid for via the selling of unwanted items route

Magpie- I'm so happy it turned out okay! Congrats on your smart new jacket

Bobsa- well done on your leather jacket bargains! I found a vintage Schott leather jacket in a charity shop a few years ago and wore it constantly. I prefer something a bit more sleek and smart casual now but for a few years I looked like a rugged biker chic groupie. It was amazing

Been so busy recently I forgot about this place!

I've been sending more to the CS recently than buying from it, can't stop DS from hunting for 'toys' ie cars and diggers etc (he's three in September) when we go in though!

I've still been finding good tops for me, often M&S ones (can feel the heat of turning 40 approaching, I'm 38 next month) and good bits for DS to wear at preschool, especially coats and shoes as of course his own 'old' stuff is usually too small to keep wearing!!

I buy less for DD as I had some of mum's inheritance to get new stuff for her and she's not going to preschool until this time next year (she turned one last month and has just started walking) xx

    Big spend this afty.....;)

In the weird 20p shop in Otley....a calf length M & S jersey skirt in a bottle green, sand and cream Paisley pattern. Has a *whispers* elastic waistband :p From their 'Classic' collection. Would not dream of wearing it out but will be super comfortable around the house and is smart enough to answer the door to the postman!! Then in the St Gemma's 99p shop I found a Roman jumper in cream with small dark blue embroidered dots all over the front. 3/4 sleeves and a scoop neck and with the neck, hem and cuffs all banded in dark blue. Will be great with blue jeans and in very good condition. Total spend today £1.19 :j

Miro I love the 20p shop in Otley! On Saturday I got 4 birthday/greetings cards and a mini bag of baby Smarties, spending the princely sum of £1. This was after spending 99p in St Gemma's - on a brand new EWM cotton jumper -pale turquoise and white striped. Then I had to spoil my frugal spend by splashing out £3 on a Liz Claiborne shirt in the PDSA shop!

Hiya..yes the 20p shop and St Gemma's are really, really great for bargains n Otley. Such a shame that the £1 chazza, next door to the now defunct Donkey Sanctuary chazza is no more:(. I suppose the 20p shop does not strictly classify as a charity shop tho...people just seem to donate stuff and it's sold on for really silly prices to the community. Fascinating place tho - just never know what you are going to find there next. I saw a pretty little silver coloured necklace there yesterday and I'm regretting not buying it now....why on earth did I hesitate for 20 blooming' pence!!! :p
