As a reason to buy hats, that has to be one of the very best I've heard yet.
Are they all his, or do you ever share?

(Imagination has vintage but dapper fox peering down at me from under a fascinator with a bit of net & an expression of ferocious indignation...)

Mind you hurrah Meatloaf CDs, tomato plants (*verdampt* local slugs) & ach Miro - can you help having taste & an unerring ability to spot the good stuff?!

    Had a little wander yesterday.

Calvin Klein black leather belt with a lovely vintage-y style buckle £4, its a mans small size and fits me really well, I gave it a good buff up with my Dr Martens wax and it looks great.

W by BHS BNWT black jersey dress, empire line, tie at the waist, lovely abstract design in red, blue and white, long sleeves with a cuff and little button £3.50 (this was originally priced at £7 in the CS but they had half off all dresses and tops yesterday)

M&S Collection (see tons and tons of this stuff) cream blouse, longline and longer at the back, buttons to just above the navel, little tabs on the shoulder, roll back sleeves, will look great with dark skinnies and loafers.

H&M grey blazer, stretchy fabric, single button, 2 front pockets, fully lined, £3

M&S candle making kit, all BN in the box £2.50, originally £10 from M&S.

Saucony Fastwich Racing Shoes £4.79, these are around £100 new and apart from a dusty sole they show no signs of wear.

M&S Collection grey pinstripe trousers, wide leg but fitted around the waist and bottom, £3.99.

I'd say it was definitely worth a wander in to see if there's anything that takes your fancy.
Let us know how it goes.

Miro - that is a good find, is it free of the dreaded moth holes too? I would defintely go to the clothing swap, it's such a fab idea.

Went to the Clothing Exchange this morning - don't really know what to make of it! I perhaps went a little too early as there had only been a few people arrive before me with swops. Oxfam had donated some items tho to help kick things off.

The woman in front of me took 60+ items:eek: - I just took 6 to 'test the water', mine were:-

    M & S jersey dress
    Phase Eight dress
    LK Bennett top
    M & S top BNWT
    M & S shirt
    M & S black 3/4 trousers

I came away with 5 items:-

M & S burnt orange 3/4 length linen trousers, BNWT price £29.50. A size too big for me normally but fit fine, (probably why donated.....what is wrong with M & S sizing these days??

M & S Woman silky top in a black and dark red pattern. Looks quite good on.

Primark petrol blue top with visible zip. Looks cheap and nasty, will redonate to a chazza.

Maxi dress by Purple in navy with a pattern of big white birds. Might cut the bottom half off and make it into a skirt or just redonate.

Pure Collection superfine cashmere* pale blue long sleeved jumper, very crumpled and sad looking but might be a star find depending on how it washes - on the Pure website for £119!!

As the swop was in a very studenty area lots of stuff was very boho/hippy but some yummy mummy stuff too...in fact I was dead miffed to see 2 YM's fighting over a Primark top and ignoring my LK Bennet and Phase Eight stuff....pfffft! I would probably go again but a bit later next time so there is more stuff and would only take cheaper end stuff.

*dolly84 I always go over cashmere with a de-bobbling implement (a.k.a a disposable razor! :p) and it gives me the opportunity to have a goods squiz at the same time for possible moth damage.

Miro - I know which clothing swap you are talking about now, I have come across them online (Leeds area somewhere), they have it once a month, DD and I considered going, do they charge to get in? I seem to remember it being £3 which is what put us off as it would be £6 and if we came home empty handed we would be a bit miffed.

Today I have been to the tip shop and to the CS DD volunteers at on Sundays. At the tip shop I got a BNIP reflective windscreen cover, I will be using it in winter when it is icy, paid £2 which I was happy with. On the whole this particular tip shop is totally overpriced, they have broken bits of rubbish and want several pounds for it, the staff are stroppy and lazy.

From the CS I got a BNIP pair of very lovely cotton pillowcases in a soft green and cream pattern, £1, a book for DD 30p, a M&S Collection (again) sheer cream blouse with tiny gold leaves on it, v neck with no buttons, stand up frilled collar, long sleeves with cuffs and smocking just above the cuffs £3, a navy and white slub skirt, work style, fully lined with a piped waistband with a little bow, £2.50, I don't know what brand it is as the labels had been cut out. Lastly a Gelert packaway raincoat, khaki colour with taped seams, will store in my rucksack for walking days, £2.
