I think it was on this thread but please forgive me if it wasn't where people were mentioning Waitrose's basic range. My nearest Waitrose store is about 40 miles away and I have to confess I've never been in it or any other branch either:o. I've seen a Waitrose delivery van twice in our area recently and after a search online today discovered that they do indeed deliver to this postcode:j. There seems to be lots of money off codes and free delivery for new customers at the moment so I might give them a try. I always thought they were massively expensive so a browse of the website calls.

Congratulations on your floor sweeping, KC:T. Puts me to shame:o. Don't tire yourself out before your holiday though.

I've noticed a lot of moths indoors recently too:eek: but I think they're the outdoor ones rather than clothes moths. Having the door and windows open most of the day hasn't helped as we don't have insect screens. I tend to ignore them, they seem to find their way out again without my help. Ours are small ones, not those huge ones that flap around the bedroom at night.

Talking to your sister sounds much nicer than tackling a to do list:p

Hope you've had a lovely rest of the day:)

It's really worth giving them a go, CBC - they're not massively cheaper than anywhere else, but the quality is always better - even things like Essentials range frozen broccoli. Frozen quicker, less bits falling off, things like that. Essentials mayo is double the price of Sainsbo Basics mayo, but the ingredients have many fewer additives. If you can get to grips with MyWaitrose, that gives you money off a few products, chosen by you.

Congratulations on your floor sweeping, KC:T. Puts me to shame:o. Don't tire yourself out before your holiday though.
I'm absolutely sure my housework doesn't put you to shame. I'll confess, its got to have been a month since I swept :o but yes, over-tiring myself before the holibob would not be good. It's a stamina issue, really, since the fatigue seems to have gone **crossed fingers**

It was a lot better, PP, thanks :) The day wasn't particularly lovely, but it was focussed and productive, I was really happy with it.

I have a list today too, but I'm not quite ready to summarise it here :p and anyway I *need* to wander about the forum first :p

I really empathise, KC, when you tell us of items on your to-do lists that you have problems getting done because you hate doing them. I'm much worse than you, I can put things off forevermore:o. I really had to get a grip this morning though as, woken very early by a thunderstorm, I discovered an early email invitation from eBay which spurred me into action:rotfl:. Maximum 1p selling fees and no listing fees on up to 100 items:j. The only downside is the offer is only today and tomorrow:(

I absolutely hate listing on eBay, anything that can go wrong always seems to, such as my camera playing up when I need to take pics (I don't have a smartphone or any mobile with a camera:o) or my internet connection failing. I haven't had too much trouble with bolshie buyers, it's getting the actual listings 'live' that causes me grief:(

I've been rushing round finding suitable things to sell to make best use of this offer, such as small/light,easily packed and posted, and higher value items to ensure the best profit for such a good offer. Trouble is I've precious few higher value items left to sell:o. Most of my stuff is big/ bulky/awkwardly shaped/ fragile or more suitable for a car boot sale. I've found 4 things so far though and have managed to get the pics done. At least I've made a start:j

I see what you mean, CBC :)

I had thunderstorms last night too, by the way! I've only had a smartphone for 6 months or so, and I love the way the weather app portrays them - a lightning bolt across a purple background, it makes up for the crash and bang of the real thing, which can be quite startling when its only a mile away :D

Emboldened by the cleaning yesterday, I ate the phone call frogs. The first one was my lovely plumber, who I spoke to, and he's ringing me back in an hour or two.

The second, it was a complaint - my supposedly lovely new garden gate is becoming unuseable, and hasn't been able to be locked for months now. Since it was only done in November, this isn't really on. There's only a landline number available, and I phoned it, after writing out a script (hate complaining, especially over the phone). V brave! It rang once and then the continuous beep (disconnected?) comes on. No announcement. I'll try again over the next few days, but the head honcho was very unwell, and he may simply have died. That's how unwell he seemed. His son may have simply closed the business. Or BT may just have their knickers in a twist. Or maybe it's a sign that my gut instinct was right :D that using them again for work on my house would be A Bad Thing.

I think I'm going to end up paying for a repair, which is quite annoying, but that's life.

Annoying Karmcat but maybe easier to just pay for a repair.

Yesyesyes! Today was different, I just seemed to finally get myself into a phone mood - I mean, I don't even like *social* phone calls, I'm weird that way, with anyone except my sister.

As for the total of what I've managed to do: - plumber phone call
    - builder phone call
    - SB (the loophole I've been exploiting has just closed, damn! :p)
    - YG
    - bucket and a half of weeds picked up from the garden.
    - printed 2 sets of a lot of emails for the holibob - 1 for me, 1 for my sister. Charged a set of AA batteries I need. Packing became a bit more serious too :)
    - finally put away my winter duvet. In spite of previous heatwaves, I've only just stopped using it :o
    - scanning printouts of family photos - feels weird, but my mum's written identifying names and stories too on them - need to be included!

That looks better - I took a looong break over the afternoon, thought I hadn't done much, but thats not too bad.
Off out to play tomorrow :) enjoy yourselves all :)
