I made the decision many years ago to not start a diary as I knew after the initial flurry of posts I would end up stressed if I hadn't updated it regularly.
I do enjoy reading and contributing to everyone's elses' diary which I realise is very selfish.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

BB - I've also not started a diary, but I do try and contribute to a few of the 'old-timers' who have been on here for just as long!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Don't worry, BB - if a diary isn't for you, like RT, then it isn't - I like to see the progress in one place, follow the journey over one thread, but that's just my preference, it doesn't mean it's right! And anyway, if you're contributing posts, or even pressing the like button, that's fine. Having a diary isn't supposed to be a source of stress!
Old timer here, though 😀2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
Right, so, I caught up on my sleep a bit, finally; my sister is bringing her vacuum on Saturday - it's stronger than mine, and she can use it more easily (we have the eternal debate of upright vs not-upright 🤣); I've opened my curtains so I can see what the dickens is going on on my road (I've kept them mostly closed so I don't obsess about the neighbours, just get on with my own life, but yesterday the result was that I didn't see the water company working next door but one and potentially cutting the supply while they shifted a meter, and nor did I see the police car parked outside *my* door).
Today, some distinct things I can accomplish:
- finish cleaning shopping (tins! Nearly ran out of baked beans🤣).
- get the wheelbarrow to the front yard, empty it of weeds and old soil, leave it there for the neighbour's partner to see if she wants it (this is if I'm not disturbing the sleeping fox).
- scrub the floor of the other half of the entrance to my living room from the hall - ground in over *such* a long period of time, not good-looking!
That'll do 🤣 I've just done a YG survey, checked clicks, nothing else doing.2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
All good yesterday, except every single baked bean tin I picked up was dented. Asda have refunded me already, but I wanted beans! I'll put some on soak and do them first thing tomorrow - my sister will expect some 🤣
More jobs today, all of them smaller, putting the beans to soak is a typical one. They're so tiddly, I'll do a ta-da list later on.

Unless they are really bad, they should be OK to eat - unless there's bubbling when you open the tin or it otherwise looks/smells iffy.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

but there was no ta-da list, sorry! Basically I had to give up at about 1pm, I'm shattered from lack of sleep. I *did* manage, later on, to distribute some of the soil/coffee grounds around the borders at the front, much less now. Red ants, though, most unattractive.
Today, trying to get ready for my sister to be here, ie not work myself to death so that I have enough energy to work alongside her, but still not have the place be a tip when she gets here.
I know how to live 🤣🤣🤣2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
Re beans - that’s not to say you shouldn’t have a refund though - I always ask for one given that I’d never pick them up from the shelf like that!Take care today - don’t over do it.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Completely agree with Vix! If you would not pick them up from the shelf in a less than perfect condition, then a full refund is due! What you do with them after that is up to you - LOL - including eating them to prevent food waste! We apply the same theory to anything fresh that arrives bruised or damaged - I'd not pick them up from the store like that but if I can salvage the remaining bit of banana or tomato then there is less food wastage!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
