KC - you are not the only one to metion GTD lately - I've looked on both library accounts for an e-book or e-audiobook but that title is not to be found - not sure if I want to spend 7.99 on the kindle version! - will have to think about that one or have a look in one of the many charity shops in town.
Harvesting is a fancy way of saying - pulling up the overwintered self-seeded parsnips, sorting through them to find the edible ones & scrubbing the mud off - still have to peel and chop - then they will be transformed into a parsnip ginger soup.
Have you seen this grout reviver? I'd use it quarterly in our (rented) last place as the grout was deplorable!
Hooray for speedy movement by the accountant - how in the world did you pay taxes without and account - LOL

Hi RT! For sure, check out the charity shops - I've let mine go that way, so there must be others there. Here's hoping things like that are still £1.50 or so :)
Thank you for explaining the harvesting :) my rhubarb will definitely need harvesting soon. I might try to split the crown at some stage, it grow upwards now, I'm sure there are at least four crowns there 😃
Grout reviver! I have a pen too! But I need to actually get rid of the mould first, I think the pen is only meant to cope with "grubby"?
I checked the premium bond purchase again last night - it finally went after close of day. In future, I'll only send during banking hours, I'm not keen on keeping an eye out like that.
The accountant staff member in France I've been assigned to is obviously a complete lamb, so amazingly efficient. As for paying tax without an account, I buy goods at John Lewis without an account, just an email, so I'm assuming/hoping its the same thing 😃
And today's list of derring do:
- washing machine on: there actually wasn't enough to make a full load when I listed it earlier this week 😃
- some of the brambles poking through the fence have got cheeky, and come back to haunt me, they're going to get their come uppance.
- tidying upstairs, not going to do too much that needs me to bend over, my knee is hurting in a different place 🙄 I'd say "don't get old" but the alternative is even worse 🙄
- if I need to really stay still, I'll use the desk upstairs to sort the photos. I sorted the ones I got over the weekend, but others I've already inherited are really, really mixed up.
ETA won £100 on the premium bonds, hurray, as well as the French money I sent there. It's adding up :)

Hooray for the win! £100 is a good sized win😊

Just been amending my Asda delivery for next week, in light of needing to eat down the stores a little. I was actually going to *up* my order for standard baked beans, but I've just seen what they're charging now. About a year ago, 4 tins were £1.05 or something. They were briefly £1.35, then even more briefly £1.70, and there's a warning on my order that they're now £2!!! I'll be working my slow cooker much harder, an almost 100% price increase for such a staple is horrifying, even though I can well afford it in isolation.
Talking of food - I'm also going to be eating down my jars of honey, I have 3, I think All UK honey tested in EU fraud investigation fails authenticity test | Food | The Guardian No point buying any more before I've sorted an ethical supplier that isn't out of my price range. When the honey I already have runs out, I'll use dried fruit, or just go savoury with my porridge
One of the baby HWs paid out, £1, they're very slow these days, so I'm very happy about that.
A confession: I still need to wash/deal with a bag and assorted other stuff from the holiday. I'll do that today - it's difficult to do house-moving stuff when holiday stuff is still around, after all.
So today is
- finishing off cleaning the holiday stuff
- carry on with the mould spray in the bathroom (I just wiped some recent stuff this morning, good result).
- put beans on to soak.
- get as much as I can into the rubbish bin for tomorrow.
- one outside job: either using my kneeler to sweep away the moss in the front yard, or the initial wash for the plantpots no longer in use in the back garden.2023: the year I get to buy a car6 -
Morning! The list from yesterday isn't too badly done, I was too tired to soak the beans at the end of the day but I can just use lentils instead in the slow cooker now. The only other thing left undone was the outside job of cleaning the flowerpots roughly, I only did maybe 40% of them.
However! That's because I found an email from ancestry with free access over the Coronation Weekend. So a lot of yesterday was spent tidying up the census returns and baptisms for one of the most local families I've got (local to Liverpool, that is 😁). It's really detailed work, but I love the result.
Today: in all honesty, not too much more, I'm quite tired after running about all the time yesterday: genealogy work, flower pot cleaning, tidying downstairs so I'm free Saturday. This post got delayed by having a huge long chat with my brother ☕🍰😃🌈 which was fun.

Sounds like you're making great progress, Ancestry access not withstanding. I know why they've done it, and am tempted, but unless the weather is rubbish, I think I'd rather be outside this weekend! (And/or watching the coronation!). Maybe I'll squeeze a little bit in one evening - it has been ages since I've rummaged through the family tree... the problem is I get very sucked in and soon the whole day has gone!
Are you cleaning the flowerpots for a particular reason? I believe there's no real need to - it's one of the gardening myths that Charles Dowding (no-dig man) has busted, I think. (I also remember hearing that basically it was a make-work exercise for estate gardeners in the winter!).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Totally agree - I only did it yesterday in the first flush of renewed enthusiasm, I'd forgotten they might do it, and since we've just been faffing with photos, I had to have a go

I'm stopping now, actually - time for a nice walk before the kids get out. And I've not the done slow cooker 👀 so I'll chuck at least a few things in straight off when I get back. Looks lovely out there!2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
KC - thought I'd pop on to let you know of our discovery today...
While we were on our walk today, popped into Ic3land to get some butter (20 p cheaper than everywhere else). They have an offer for those who are 60+ with their bonus card and proof of age (bus pass etc) - 10% off on Tuesday's with no minimum spend. I'm not eligible but OH is, so have opened an account in his name & signed up for special offers!
Also discovered that B00ts points are 8p per pound for 60+ rather than the piddley 3p per pound they are now giving me and 10% off any spend over 20 pounts! - will have to get him a card next time we go in there.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
