Oh I like it, that's a very reasonable, concise way of putting it. Good one!
We did well, sister did the vacuuming, I swept the front yard (and went back for more after she'd gone), plus figured out how to insect-proof the underside of the IKEA sofa, which took some faffing around, let me tell you 🤣
She's away for a bit now, so when she comes back, I want the house to be a lot further on (stopping her worrying about me 😮). I've also made a note to myself that when I look at rightmove in future, I'm going to log in, so I can see what I've looked at and make notes.
All good.2023: the year I get to buy a car7 -
Morning! A late start, but almost purposeful 🤣
1. I have purpose-made "leftovers" for lunch and dinner, so that's good too.
2. I did more sweeping of the front yard - more to do, and anything in the back garden will help, green bin is tomorrow.
3. One of my two baby HWs came up trumps, 50 free spins 😮 woo hoo, and I got £8 or so from it. Withdrew £20 to my credit card, more than £5 is left in there.
4. I've done a very general sweep with mould spray in the bathroom - need to sploosh water everywhere to get rid of it, but I might have been a bit rough with some sealant directly underneath the shower 🤣 got to fix that first.
5. In the house, if I have any energy after the yard sweeping/ pruning, sort my vacuum cleaner - mostly cleaning the filters.
I have never done this job before2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -

I have never done this job before...
I've been eyeing up the washing machine filter for a clean, I read somewhere that this needs to be done every 3-4 months - and watched a utoob video which shows it to be super easy! - we've had our 'new' machine for almost two years and it's not been done once! It's a 'low bit' so OH won't be volunteering for this one!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Thanks for that, RT - I'm still not one to automatically consider YT, so that's a valuable reminder.
Lots of admin phone calls I wasn't expecting today, but they had to be dealt with. And I had two sessions of garden work - the sweeping the yard at the front, and a lot of pulling up of salad burnet - I'd like to call it harvesting, and I've let the plants grow a *lot* in case I could do it. But I can't - so most of the plants that grew in cracks in the crazy paving at the back (which will have to be fixed 🙄) have just been turfed into the green bin. Still got the chance to use the stuff that's actually planted. Green bin nice and full.
Very stressful conversation with this new U3A friend, who wants me to help her take my neighbours to court. The fact that I'm moving house to avoid any such issue seems to have escaped her 🙄 I'm sorry I mentioned it to her, but she'll get nothing further from me about it all. I feel so, so sorry for the dog, in this legal limbo ... but my health is more important. She's the one who's supposed to be joining the spaceflight group, next meeting on Friday, and I don't know how all this is going to play out. Implosion? Shouting? She's very loud. I just have to remember that I have rights too, even though she wants to do what I'd want to do, if I was well enough.2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
Onwards and upwards today ... washing clothes, washing dishes, washing me, cutting hair (straight across the bottom
), change the bed. Not much 🤣
Plus following up on the unexpected admin from yesterday.2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
Well done on the admin calls and the weeding KC!
blue shreiky smilie to the lady who is trying to be helpful! Methinks a polite thank-you but no thank-you is in order there!
Washing machine filter was bordering on clean tbh - more water to mop up than anything else - a quick scrub under the tap was all it took! Not sure why it would need doing every 3-4 months!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Thanks RT, you're a darling, much appreciated. The U3A lady who's trying to be helpful has now realised that my interpretation of the RSPCA website and the law on animal cruelty was correct, so she's moved on to telling me where I should buy my new property 🙄 I'm going to have to pull back!
Anyway, spaceflight group is still currently a haven of reasonableness, long may it continue even if she becomes a permanent member. I've been pootling about the web looking at the history of the Lunar Rover 🚀 which is a wonderful piece of tech.
I've also booked another eye test and 3D eye scan for next week - I might be pulling back from moving house to concentrate on my original plan for this year, of buying a car. All these admin phone calls mean that decisions are being re-evaluated and coming along thick and fast. Might need some comfort food tonight, but I've already had quite a lot, and I think I need to lose a bit of weight - clothes are a bit too tight for comfort 🙄🙄🙄2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -

That's good news, then, RT 🍰 there's no chocolate cake in the emoji pages, so this will have to do 🤣
Spaceflight group! 🚀2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
G'day all 🌞 There are rumblings of achievements!
- topcashback of £9.57 transferred to an Asda card. More money that way. Could have been more, but some of my TCB earnings are with JL, and you can't make them into rewards cards, for some reason. I'll let it stay there for now, rather than input bank details just for £1.27 🤣
- first part of money shuffle done, now I just need to pay it back into my current account on Monday.
- there was a tiny YG survey I should have done when I saw it, gone now. Grrr.
- sent £5 from my bank's Rewards account to my current account. Actual profit is £1 a month, as £2 is taken as a charge for the bank account, which feels quite deceptive. I didn't expect to like using the app, but I do.
- there's also £3.68 in my Asda Rewards app, it all adds up.
I'm currently glued to my armchair, with no intention of moving any time soon, spaceflight meeting was loooong, but it was great to see the guys again.
- checked out "Which" prices - £9 a month or £79 a year. I've also seen a "first month" offer, but I'm thinking the yearly rate might be best - I don't know how long its going to take to buy a car, presuming I decide to go ahead, and who knows what else I might buy to make my life easier? Do I buy a DVD player, or a DVD recorder? Huge price difference, but Which might help with that, and that's just a frinstance.2023: the year I get to buy a car3
