Not sure if its different down your way but up here were getting both jags at the same time, different arm, although some are getting them both in the one arm
Sounds like you've been very productive KC2 -
I updated my uber frugal/sensible/soaring September on 12th September. so I'll update again today, good grief:Karmacat said:- "patchwork" of fleece from my stash.
I had to wait to start this because I needed more curtain hooks. They've arrived, I'd like to get back to it Real Soon Now
- thermal blind material, which I'm going to use with velcro on windows.
Still not started yet
- the sealant plan for the gap between the top of the skirting boards and the wall.
Yep, done two of the biggest gaps, 2 or 3 smaller ones to be done.
- get back into using the slow cooker - done one lot, will put dried beans in soak today.
Lost focus on this, probably just because of watching the queen's funeral, but I've got some beans ready to put on soak right now.
- restock the cupboard of tins - they were *so* useful when I was ill! Need that facility again.
My Asda order was really good, only 2 dented tins, and I found them straight away, so I ate them
- Toward the end of the month, another Healthy Supplies order - still planned for the end of the month.
Laid out the nuts and seeds purchases, not ordered yet.
Wondering about using a Waitrose voucher I have - £12 off a delivery of £100 (!) but almost half of that could be spirits to give as part of the Xmas present for my sister's kids.
- Apps: my bank app, and my Asda Rewards app, experiment with using them. Asda app not worth regular use, its almost entirely branded items, and took me an hour to go through.
Asda app: £1.74 earned from last week's shop. The only "mission" currently open (by end September, which I'm not going to use) is £5 on baking goods, which will earn 50p. Here's hoping my £1.74 rolls over, anyway.
Haven't looked at the bank app yet, still. Must do that, its easy enough.
- Join Prolific, even if I just have to go on a waiting list. Joined. I'm on a waiting list!
Not heard anything yet, and I don't really expect to.
- Shift some ISA money.
I opened an "empty" cash ISA with Coventry, as instructed by them, and I want to fund it partly with the French money that I'm trying to bring back to this country. That's definitely tiny step by tiny step, which is why I'm noting all the steps on here, it's so detailed. The other moneys, I've kind of lost the plot of where I am, so I'll have to work on that tomorrow.
- I *did* do both sets of washing today, though the 2nd set is very, very wet still. But it means that the outside of the big suitcase is cleaned, and drying off upstairs. When that's dry, I'll open it up and spray inside.
- spoke with my sister! She could manage to talk for about 10 minutes. Very glad she could cope with that.
- had a walk, a circular one that used to be nothing at all. Today, it's still a little bit of a challenge, and I tried to walk a bit faster too, healthier. Good stuff.
- did about 30 minutes of clearing in the garden, just of the stuff I cut/dug up yesterday. A *lot* of brambles, and the older roots are just getting bigger and biggerI think I might need to hire a garden labourer for a couple of days.

Finding decent interest rates are still a challenge KC. I just had a regular saver mature and the interest was hardly worth the effort! Have your tried Raisin? They have some decent rates on certain products and often have new investor cashback offers. You also get £5 if you go through TCB and take out a new product. MSE Martin often blags exclusive extra cashback . You can also easily see which products have the £85k investor protection which is always good to know XOriginal mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.
Mortgage neutral achieved August 2020 - 7 years early!!!3 -
Thanks for that, Pinky. Nope, I hadn't looked at Raisin, but I have now
The bonds in particular look really good - I'm going to wait on opening new products until the interest rate is announced, I think its tomorrow now? It sounds like it might be quite big, and savings rates might need to go up.
I'm waiting for my French bank to contact me so I can set up a payment to my existing account at wise, and then transfer a load of euros back to this country, to fund the new savings accounts.
I also need to pay the French tax bill by 17th October, its finally turned up.
And I need to do my September money shuffle!
I'm mulling purchases:
- Healthy Supplies, £57, free delivery. Nuts and seeds, some chestnuts for Christmas.
- M&S men's socks - the women's summer socks I have are cutting into my legs, to the extent that I'm drawing blood when I scratch after taking them off. Not good.
- Waitrose voucher. I'll check on Christmas consumables (vodka for niece, gin for nephew) and hopefully get to £100 plus, which will give me a 12% discount, and enable me to get some early Christmas presents.
Mulling purchases makes me think I should maybe rejoin TCB - which I'm a bit confounded at, thinking of all those purchases I made this summer for the cruise. Ah well.2023: the year I get to buy a car1 -
Re: tight socks, I am very prone to puffy ankles and find all standard socks dig in too much and make them worse. I discovered honeycomb topped socks at my local market and love them! So much more comfortable. I think they are called gentle grip.2
-
Ooh thank you Ramouth! I was just going to get men's socks, but the honeycomb effect sounds tailor made for me. Great for you that they're in your market
rubbish for me, ha. Got a google search going straight away - good heavens, they're all over the place! M&S, Amazon, a diabetic place too.
I'm not really sure why I have the problem - I don't have puffy ankles, or even thick ankles. My skin is certainly sensitive - that's a genetic issue, I get off lightly with that one compared to other family members. But its real, no matter what's caused it - scratching enough to draw blood is a no-no in my book!
M&S came up with these: 3pk Gentle Grip Socks | M&S Collection | M&S (marksandspencer.com) £10 for 3. More than I usually pay for socks, but definitely worth it. I'll buy today, and hopefully in the local branch on Friday. Then I can swap the currency that's going out of date at my bank, and go to the Post Office to reclaim Icelandic and Greenlandic notes, as per the arrangement.
A good day already!

Regarding your skin do you use moisturiser or oil to stop it from drying out? I find if my skin gets too dry it then gets itchy if I can not resist scratching it bleeds, but if I keep it moisturised it itches less and even if I scratch it doesn't bleed.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Thanks Baileys Babe! I moisturise my feet, my legs haven't been such a problem till recently, but you're right about the solution, I need to start doing that.
Thank you for thinking of me with the socks! I'm going to try to buy them (and the other stuff I'm after) through TCB - my email is registered with them, but the reset password email hasn't turned up, so I've sent a ticket. This stuff is important!2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
I suspect I make my life unnecessarily complicated 👀 I did the first part of the money shuffle, fine. Checked on TCB that Healthy Supplies aren't part of it. They're not, so I went ahead and placed my order. Then realised I didn't do it with the offer code, which was a free 1kg bag of organic walnuts - thats quite a big deal! Luckily, they have a facility where you can cancel the whole order. I'll order again tomorrow or Friday. Phew ...2023: the year I get to buy a car3

Right, I'm juggling several things and only tiny steps are achieved, so this is the list:
- French bank hasn't replied, so I can't do anything about the Wise account, or the ISA .
- I'm starting to think I should use my English bank's regular saver money for the isa, seeing as it's only at 0.40% p.a.
- TCB, they answered, I could reset the password, hurray, but when I log in they want email authentication. And of course the authentication email isn't turning up. So I've sent another query.
- order from Healthy Supplies. Not only could I cancel the order when I realised immediately that I hadn't included the code for the very worthwhile freebie, but they've emailed to confirm that its been cancelled. Their behind the scenes software is really top notch, I'm very impressed. That means I can re-order, with a bit more added to differentiate and because I need it anyway.
- oh, TCB verification email just turned up! I verified, and guess what, there's 97p in there from October 2014 😃 Right, that means I can finally order the M&S socks.
- checked with sister re preferred booze for her offspring, but she's bad again, so that will have to wait. Que sera sera.
- just attended a zoom thing from U3A - my mike and even my camera are still not functioning. But my Space group friend 🖖🏻 has repeated his offer to help me with the settings, now that he's back from holibob. Grateful acceptance.
- slow cooker is doing its thing, with red kidney beans, split peas and green lentils, which all have approx the same cooking time.
Healthy Supplies and M&S via TCB are on the list for later. I can't take any more time in front of the laptop for now, so I'm off into the garden. *So* much to do there! It's cool enough that I won't be affecting the siestas taken by the foxes🦊🦊
