Really glad to hear you're feeling better!4

Thank you all! I've done a fair bit of that today: stripped the bed, washed half the bedding, packed the dishwasher, and decided to use up the half dozen baby wipes I had from the trip: cleaning the handles and kitchen cupboard fronts, which have been filthy, and very discouraging in the kitchen. Looks much nicer now. Hot water's heated (30 minutes), ready for me to use when I'm ready.
Plotting for Uber Frugal September
I've been collecting a "patchwork" of fleece from my stash - I've long had the idea of taking used fleece material, trackie bottoms, fleeces etc, and using them to create curtain lining.
I also have some thermal blind material, which I'm going to use with velcro on windows, I have a couple that are really surplus to requirements (one by the door, one by my armchair, I keep the curtain drawn there anyway).
The sealant plan for the gap between the top of the skirting boards and the wall.
Get back into using the slow cooker, obviously I haven't done it while I've been ill.
Restock the cupboard of tins - they were *so* useful when I was ill! Need that facility again.
Toward the end of the month, another Healthy Supplies order - beans, dessicated coconut, seeds and nuts, that sort of thing. I do an order every 6 months or so.
Apps: my bank app, and my Asda Rewards app, experiment with using them. I just do one Asda order a month, no popping anywhere. Though I want to get some Waitrose teabags
Join Prolific, even if I just have to go on a waiting list.
Shift some ISA money, one of the rates is ridiculous (0.62% p.a.! Only on about £3,700, but still).
Nine items - that's enough for now2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -

That's lots of things! I'm enjoying reading about all the different things people are planning to do in September!5

Ooh great call on the thermal linings and velcro- think we might pinch that (or magnets - Mr MV’s suggestion but think Velcro might be easier!)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks all! My insect screens snap closed with a magnet, madvix - but they're professionally made, they have a upvc framework that the magnet sits on. Very efficient, and Mr MV could do it I'm sure, from what you've said, but I'm equally sure I couldn't
It's a longish list, but most things on it will only take a morning or so - the one that'll take ages is using the patchwork of fleeces to make curtain linings. I've also found a professionally made curtain that I'll try to adapt into a roman blind for the kitchen window, by the sink - it just has a piece of voile thrown over the tension rod to block a bit of the sun, but if this found curtain is the right size, it would be great.
The voile, mind you, helps me hide from the fox mum and her adolescent offspring who often sleep at the bottom of my garden in the daylight - its lovely to see them2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
Oooh, now I'm wondering if the fly screens would deter escapee cats....or if they'd jump into the screen and pull the magnets off! Being able to open downstairs windows a bit wider in the summer heat would be a brilliant innovation! 😂

The young cat formerly known as the Mad Kitten has eyed up my ground-floor flyscreen, when I've chatted to him through it, but hasn't tried to jump up - I think it looks like a solid surface to a cat, from a few feet away.
Foxes are gorgeous
Using my hot water yesterday was a bit funny! I switched it on, but didn't check the boiler came on, its a bit temperamental - so I got into the bathroom, and I was so desperate to get my hair clean I ended up washing it anyway, in cold water 👀 but then waited for the water to heat before my shower.
Uber Frugal Learning I only used the hot water to shower today, 30 minutes heat, so there was lots left overnext time, check if I can put it down to 25 minutes. It will go up in the winter, but I'd like to keep it as low as possible, so I can use all the water I heat.

Hmm... not sure my cats are that sensible! 😂 But it might be worth a try - at least in the kitchen where they'll shoot through from the worktop given half a chance (which is all they ever get as they're locked out of there most of the time).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Uber Frugal Learning
I just made the sponge cake that SL told us about, from JJ - I did 2.5 minutes in the microwave. I confess I ate the whole "4 portion" thing - after all, it's one egg and 2oz flour, and I had a small savoury tea, so ... It was excellent, a really quick way to use up flour, but much too sweet for me, thank heavens, I could halve the sugar. Maybe substitute dessicated coconut, with a teaspoon of the pea flour that needs using up.
Paid sister what I owe her, £95, so everything's clear now, except for knowing how much money I'll get back for my foreign exchange. Call it £280-£300.
Ready to roll tomorrow.2023: the year I get to buy a car3
