Yep, it wasn't a good shop in that way! Though I stocked up madly on my addiction du jour, ie tinned butterbeans, and I ordered *lots* in case of damages, so I'm still very pleased
Gorgeous, gorgeous weather, I'm just about to go out there, and I'm *still* being a lazy tyke. Truth will out2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -

I did it
thank you both
went for a bit of a walk too, amazingly warm. And every plug I can find is unplugged right now, the thunder and lightning got quite close! Rain now, woo hoo - I mean, I wouldn't be out in it anyway, and the garden could really do with a top up
Not been bothered to do anything today, nothing except 45 mins in the garden and putting the dw on. Dreadful - there's still quite a lot I need to get straight in the next few days, and I just haven't. I think what will help is going back to what I used to do - using 10am as the starting point of my day, get going - such a waste of time if I don't do that.
Bedfordshire now, with my copy of Outlander.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
Right, had a lovely talk with sister about travel opportunities - bro arriving here, our own trip to Hampshire, her potential trip with daughter, our potential trips with rellies, potential trips with just the two of us. Bliss to think of it all
Must get my act together, I wasted a lot of time yesterday. So, for today:
- I've finished the dw, but I'd had to turn it off last night with all the lightning close by, so stuff is stacking up. Must put it on tonight.
- I have two emails to answer.
- Get garden rubbish into the bin.
- Pinecone survey popped up: must be done, they're so well paid.
- clean the hob, and anything else I can reach. Clean self after that!2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -

Current run is finished, lunch was had.

Answered, woo! Both needed thought, both have (good) implications - very happy with that.

Not yet, will do that soon.
- Pinecone survey popped up: must be done, they're so well paid.
Hmph! It logged me out halfway through, 2nd time in recent weeks, so for the first time ever I put a ticket in. And the answer has just come back: "The quotas matching your profile have already been filled. Kindly disregard this study and wait for the next invitation." That's not going to work for me long term, not when I've already spent 20 minutes on it. If it happens again, I'll find another survey site, 3 in 4 months or so would be too many.
- clean the hob, and anything else I can reach. Clean self after that!ah well, I need a cuppa tea, and then I'll get going.

Ooh, that's annoying with pinecone! Naughty site. Mind you, I fell out with them when they booted me off the panel (silently) months and months ago. Pah!4

Started in again with YG - I suppose it only works out to just over £2 an hour, but I'm hanging out online anyway, and the single time they've gone wrong, they put it right the next day without me pestering them.
Got a notification email from Linked In - I'm trying to tidy up my online presence, and I wish I could just delete this, but failing that, I've been deleting as many personal details as possible from the account. Will try again later.
Bro is checking up on jobs he can do for me - he feels very strongly about this, so I'm not fighting it, but I'm just "offering" two very small jobs - hooks etc in the kitchen, not load bearing, which will probably take about 30 mins. Honour satisfied all round.
Looooong walk yesterday, checking out a place for next week - lovely, but very near a local motorway, and it's mostly a valley walk, not the great views we've got accustomed to. The valley is pretty claustrophobic too, even though its for a good reason - there are at least a couple of dozen redwoods there, well over a century old. Of course, there was also a robin that came within two feet of us, expecting to be fed. That was great
Today: whatever preparations I can make for bro's visit - cushion-seated dining chairs from our grandmother into the living room, get side tables set up for each of them; two sets of towels, soap and sanitiser in the bathroom (I'll use upstairs) and ahem, clear away the shopping from the porch, by whatever means necessary.
And then there's the Village Fair - I'll walk the long way round, on the less busy path, and have a peek - heaven only knows what it will be like this year.2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
