Pah, sorry to hear you've done yourself a mischief! Hope it settles soon. Yay to a tidy house though (although I'd rather like it to be conducive to being outside as well...)2

this is true! But the untidiness was getting to the stage that I couldn't do anything without moving stuff, in any room in the house. And I do live here alone, so I know it's all mine
it's all a bit better now - nothing is being cleared completely, because everywhere is dependent on everywhere else being cleared. But at least I've disposed of the tax papers for 20 ... whatever it was. I have the years written down of which year should be disposed of when, because my brain just won't keep those figures in stock.
In clearing the desk and whatnot, I've found a *lot* of little financial tasks that need doing. So that will be Monday's job. Or possibly tomorrow, if the weather/school attendance gods decree.

Right, here we go: little finance jobs all over the place, including downloads of most recent online statements - I'm never going to get behind on that again, and I'll do a ta-da list later. *Still* haven't done the seeds, but I've cleaned the drip tray for one set of the seeds, should be fine. I also have to fight my way to the front door from the living room at the moment, and that needs to be clear.
I did do *something* yesterday - the washing machine was on, the dw was on, I worked in the garden for 45 mins or so getting soil out from near the fence and laying down bark chippings to substitute, and .... I cooked! Only Yorkshires, and some of it was a bit undercooked because the containers were too big, but it was a good start, and it got protein into me as well as carbs, veg was around at other times. Good stuff.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -

Hi madvix, good to see you! Yep, I'm really looking forward to the holiday.
So, reporting in:
- carrying on with the garden - digging out the area under the fence still, and weeding/ lightly digging over the recipient areas of said soil.
- caught up on financial downloads - I'm going to have to do that once a fortnight or something, now that so many accounts are online, it took the whole morning.
- ahem, I finally cleaned all the shopping. Next batch is here this afternoon.
- oh bleep. Just had an update from Asda. No low price sheep/goat cheese AGAIN - substitute is cow's milkI'm going to have to do a click and collect from Sainsbo.
- caught up with friend from distant past some more: OMG, they have a smallholding. With a holiday cottage on, and an electric bike business in an outbuilding. I'm so impressed!
- tidying has been going well, or not bad, at least. Even the fridge had it's turn
This morning: I need to get the Virgin letters that have been sent to me, and start to fund the account. Dishwasher, making sure I'm ready for the next lot of shopping - I really need to get it done quicker this time, for one thing it's harder to get at the finance papers that need updating, if there's shopping all over the place

Madvix's post on her thread about St Patrick's Day reminded me ... a year ago today, my sister and I landed at Southampton from the Canaries cruise, having had the Lisbon stop cancelled, but very thankful to be back in England and allowed off the ship. We belted off to the railway station, got a train within minutes, and we were both at home by midday. It was obvious a lockdown was coming, whether national or self imposed quite frankly, so it was all go from there, trying to get things washed from the ship and stock up on food, of course I'd nothing in anyway. Lockdown 6 days later. Such a long year!2023: the year I get to buy a car7

Gosh yes. Yesterday I had a day long meeting - the same meeting last year was the first thing cancelled because of lockdown for me. All very strange to think of it being so long.6

Indeed KC & Cheery - today is a day of reflection for many, myself included. It's been a year since I've been to the office into the big smoke & in fact a year since we've been anywhere more exciting than 10 minutes down the narrow rural road & into the village for OH to get his shot! Never thought I'd be a city girl living in the country for such an extended period of time
On all levels, what an unusual experience this year has been!
4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 8 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 16 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!5 -
It really has, hasn't it
and with all these variants and third waves about, I'm not even sure we're over yet. So hard to believe
Not a huge amount done today: porch tidying, gathering together letters about the new account; couple of emails; food delivery, and managing to wash a lot of it, plus stopping early and washing me
I'm going to have to make a sign for my gate: the supermarket driver managed to push it uphill enough to squeeze through, and its supposed to open *down*hill. It really didn't look good. And there were substitutions I had to reject, to the tune of £16 ... I think my account has reset to their default, I've always requested no substitutions. But now I have absolutely no feta cheese in the house! Thats *another* addiction sidelinedI've set up a click and collect for Monday, but I'm quite doubtful.
