Thanks both
it really was a lovely day
Today, not so much
I've got my marching orders for the medically-exempt staying-with-my-sister, so I need to pack a small bag today, plus fill the green bin. The neighbour to whom it actually belongs will be putting it out for the binmen this time.
One mad computery thing I started to do yesterday was go through my bookmarks document (which is enormous) and check out what I wanted and what was still live. Not much, is the answer! I won't be simply installing the old bookmarks onto this computer, which I thought I would. One new folder will be "shopping", and I never thought I'd say thatI need to compare electric folding bike prices over a period of time, for instance, that sort of thing. Joy, oh joy. Little pootle about on here first, I reckon.

Carrying on with the above, plus rescuing worms takes a bit of time
The green bin neighbour is watching out for my house, which is nice, there's a bit more space in the bin, and I need to clean myself up *properly* after all the bin shenanigans, I need to be able to pay full attention to sister's needs over the next few days.

Hope all is going well with your sister x

Thanks Apple - I got back yesterday, all seems well at the moment, but we're going to have to repeat this next week, unfortunately. OTOH, this will give me a must-use chance to go for a walk instead of doing gardening, which helps the right muscles for me. And she's looking after her son's cats, the ones I've cat-sat for, so they kind of know me, and I definitely know them, so that's brilliant.
I definitely have some catch up financial stuff to do:
- couple of books-as-Christmas-presents I know I can buy.
- send off funding to the new Regular Saver from last month, see if I can automate that, otherwise its a complete pain.
- open the postI *know* there's at least one task in there I haven't attended to.
- hmmm. The people who pay me my French income, the ones that rent out the holiday flat in France, want everyone to sign an appendix to the rental agreement. One owner sent out a copy of his objections to it, and lots of others sent copies of it. I didn't, I didn't have the bandwidth. If I can find said bandwidth before I'm away again, then I'll do it, but its not a priority.
- tell the fencer that I'm away most of next week too.
Catch up on here first, of course, though it looks like its in the normal pre-Christmas lull a little bit. Hope all's well.

Well, I did some stuff and not other stuff today.
- washing machine was on again, that was good.
- cooked some chick peas.
- bought the first Christmas present for my stash. This is good going for me.
- long and involved whatsapp chat about cats. Love it
- bought Open Office on microsoft store. £2.59 or something. Do-able - I'm certainly not paying them £60 a year for microsoft office. If I have to use word, I'll use One Drive and download each individual document from there. Mostly applies to genealogy research, or The Novel.
- tried to download free firefox app also from the store of doom. It isn't firefoxso I deleted it immediately.
- that meant I investigated Microsoft Edge further, thats what I've been reduced to - found the *full* favourites listing, and found out how to export it - favourites are precious to me! Reconciles me to using the dratted thing.
- told the fencer about the work on the new fencing area, and happily he emailed back straight away, saying he's in my town tomorrow, 9am, yikes, so thats great, he can give me a quote (which I **will** accept) in the next day or so.
- bought some seeds from a new seed supplier - chives, welsh onion, land cress, mint, echinacea and cornflower. Some for me, some for the bees, some for both.
Fairly happy with that, though I wish I'd done more, of course, I always do - didn't actually take me that long though, I faffed around a *lot*
Right, I'm off to bed. Nightie night all, hope all's well.

Given that you are to and fro with your sister at the mo, please don't overdo it when you are in your own home...

Thanks KC. I’ve used them to discourage slugs, it was the roasting aspect that fascinated me.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Hello both! Don't worry Apple, I really just hung out a lot of the time yesterday. Much like today
I'm trying to pay in to that new Regular Saver before I go out for a walk, but of course there are issues .... the details I input at my current account for the Regular Saver have changed the whole thing, but I haven't updated the listing I keep of passwords and account details etc ... yadda yadda. I haven't done it before the rain came down, and now its bucketing. Bah! So I came on here in disgust
Better news re sister though, she's been working on the timings, and it turns out she doesn't need me to go stay after all, so that gives me 3 days back next week. Fencer has been to re-quote. Thats all, really, the other big news is that I put the dishwasher on, honestly I've done **so** littleI'll still allow myself ten minutes on here before I try to do that Regular Saver payment, though.
