Victory, indeed! Well done you.

Thank you lovely peeps
I was well pleased with that morning's work. In the afternoon, I did almost an hour in the garden - the grass/border edge had become obscured because I hadn't been cutting the grass properly
so more has been done, adjoining the stuff I worked on yesterday; more weeding, more soil, more bark chippings - slightly less chance of the fencers stepping on plants, and it needs doing anyway.
One curiosity: an ant hill has manifested behind my huge rosemaryand its been colonised by oregano, which has migrated from about fifteen feet away, by my patio. Lovely smell! I've no idea how either thing happened, but they have. If I level the ant hill, I presumably kill the oregano?
Anyway, I'm keeping going on both elements, the computer and the garden: as I've been repeating ad nauseam, when the lockdown is finished, I want to be able to go out as much as I can, rather than being stuck at home - so I'm getting all the home stuff done, as much as possible.
A fail *and* a win this evening on that: stacked the dishwasher from zero, but I burned a pan yesterday, and I've scrubbed the top layer off, but its still not ready to get washed. Yuck, is all I'm saying
Night night

I’m guessing that the ants may have transported oregano seeds into the hill? And presumably they like it as they’re pretty good at killing plants off!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks madvix - I thought they didn't give plants problems, but a 30 second google told me how they do it
they've spread massively in my garden in the last few years - they were clustered around an air vent of the house at one stage, so I regularly dose all the vents now. I'm going to have to think about this, because I think they may be undermining the patio too ... hmm.
Anyway, thats not for right now, tbh. Today is more of yesterday (oh, thats where the ants came from. Oops) Finance work does include paying the cc that I never got round to putting on automatic, but a host of other things too. Ta-da list will report2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
My mum has terrible problems with ant hills in her garden - it's a real pity as she worries about planting anything now. Niece however, likes to stand on the mounds and considers them 'her' hills!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I love the thought of that! I'm just about to head out there now: digging, moving slate chips, whatever, it will all help the ultimate goal.
Finance work didn't quite go as planned: couldn't find this month's cc statement for the card, even though I tidied up in the office slightlyI was a bit fed up of the detail, so I just walloped £300 over to the account, which is what I did a few months ago
This is bad, but at least it won't go into debt, and I *will* sort it before next month. I mostly carried on with working on the bookmarks, which is actually fine - once again, it all helps with the ultimate goal. And I'm not exactly missing out on any interest, lets face it.
Right, phone is beeping at me, and I've just remembered one piece of paper I should really pay attention to today, so I'm off. Hope everyone is doing well.

Well done on the banking KC - as you say every little bit helps & keeping the card in credit is the main goal there!
This evening was end of the month bank sorting for me. Have paid off the credit cards which to be honest, I only use for the points and cashback so try and clear out before payday as I like to see the zero balances! OH is spending the evening being part of a virtual audience & the occasional full-throttled laughter is filling the house, with absolutely no context as he has on headphones!
Cheery mentioned the other day on her thread that there were H@rry P0tter ambient videos on ut00b - I've found the ones for the common room - a good bit of fun & great for background noise - You'd love them KC!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! Good for you too, RT - yes, paying off the cc at the end of every month is what I do too, always did apart from stoozing when rates were high - and now, of course, there's no point me not paying it off, its retirement savings after all.
Your OH is being a zoom audience? Nice one! There's a U3A Ancient History thing on zoom tomorrow for me, and its supposed to roll over when we re-click? I think its watching a video ... well, if I see it, thats good, if not, hey ho. Hope your OH enjoys being in the audience
I managed to get out into the garden, only just, it was getting dark - but two *very* big bramble roots came out, and lots of little stuff too. Bulbs replanted, I can't remember if they're tulips or grape hyacinths, then soil and bark chippings - extra to protect worms from the cold
And I've got an HP ambience queued up on YT right now, thanks for the reminder

No zooming for me this morning, I just didn't fancy it - I've been spoiled by my County's Egyptology Society, which gets world-class speakers just back from their research trips, stuff like that. I don't particularly like that about myself, but its true.
Just posted this on SL's thread, and I'll stick it here too, very relevant:"With the Christmas rules, I think I'll be on my own for Christmas, which is fine, actually. I'd rather that than worry - the household I'd have been going to is having lots of medically-exempt toing and froing to hospital and from different parts of the UK, I'm really not keen. It would have been four households, though 3 of those households only contain one person; still households, though. We might do a whatsapp video call, that would be okay, and it would make me get some tinsel in my hair
In celebration of my getting my pension, I'm inviting everyone to an M&S/Waitrose catered picnic in summer, in any case"

I bagsy a place at the picnic! It makes sense to stay at home, karma, for cmas. Why risk it indeed?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3
