I managed to make the payment to the regular saver. Can't seem to do a separate standing order, as there's a standing order already, to the e savings account with that provider. I'll just have to do one of those "future payment" arrangements next time.

All going well
I'm continually tidying up the computer, learning how to sidestep microsoft's attempts to make me use everything of theirs all the time. Open Office rules, okay
I've been working on two documents this week - a biog, made of existing notes, of an ancestor born in 1790, and an outline of a book on psychology. I managed to get out for a walk yesterday, but I need to use that energy to do some gardening today, and carry on getting the house clean enough not to be horrified by it (it's hygienic where it needs to be, but not clean, iyswim!). Between that, and the computer, and checking for updates on my phone, I'll be happy to sit down, come Strictly
Finance work will *definitely* be resumed on Monday. 2023: the year I get to buy a car6 -
Hello KC - sounds like a lovely Saturday plan!
Well done on the new laptop efforts!
It's grey out here, but remarkably warm - I got outside this morning and did a bit of pruning of things that are now dying back. I have the lady's mantle on the radar for the next tidy & some frittalaria bulbs that need to go in before the end of the month!
The rest of my day consists of doing a meal plan for the week & tackling the storage cupboard which has suddenly developed some mould on the wall that needs to be washed down. Sitting on my backside features highly today

Hi RT! Lovely to see you again
I've been trying to reply to your post all day, but even two paragraphs of dense text are "4 characters too short", no idea why, and I've posted the odd sentence on other diaries .... slight amount of madness going on. Basically though, all good, I realised weeding towards the fence thats to be replaced is top priority, so I can get some mulch down, and my existing plants have a chance of surviving when the fencers are tromping about all over the garden ...
Anyway, off to Bedfordshire now. Hope all's well with all.2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
Right, I'm ready to do a bit of work - I think I need to get the updated paperwork document a bit more together. I confess I didn't open the post yesterday either
I'll come back with a ta-da list, the commitment and the action are *so* useful. 2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
KC - I've found that without fail if I put an emoji in too close to the beginning of my post, I get the 'X characters too short' error - something to do with the programming of this 'new' forum! - It's not you, it's them - LOLKarmacat said:...but even two paragraphs of dense text are "4 characters too short", no idea why, and I've posted the odd sentence on other diaries...

RT, thats a brilliant bit of news, thank you so much! I was trying over and over ... thats exactly it
I'm a happy bunny now.
I just came back online to describe my morning on the laptop, updating my listing of account details and whatnot. Good grief. I haven't finished, but its a job really well done so far; without it, I feel kind of lost, as I have no access when I want it - I don't know how people cope without a long listing of stuff like this. Amongst other things I have:
- listed my Flickr account details (I never finished putting up those Canary Island photos, maybe I will now).
- reinstalled Yahoo email on my phone, it somehow started asking for a PIN, so I deleted it, and its fine now.
- updated my management account in France - I already had, but not sufficiently to *understand* that I had.
- Post Office saver account matured at the beginning of this year
and is now earning the princely sum of 0.05% p.a. So is my other one, but I need to do something about that too.
- ridiculous considering how little I use it (like, not at all for about 4 years) but I have 3 youtube accounts. Possibly more. The only one I ever uploaded any videos to - the inside out building in Liverpool, the Liverpool Leeds canal, the wedding in France - I can't get access to. I've subscribed to it
which is insane, but there you go. There's another email address I could try, but I don't really mind, as long as those videos are still there.
I declare victory! **boogies over to the kitchen for a cuppa coffee** things are more firmly under my grasp, though not complete. Woo hoo.2023: the year I get to buy a car7 -
