Much appreciated, lovely peeps 🙂 looking at the list of what I did on Tuesday, it wasn't the wisest, was it ... and of course, I've been knocked out for the whole of the week 🙁 I'm just aware of so much that needs to be done, and I tried to do the normal routine stuff too, and it really, really didn't work.Been better the last few days: I finally called a locksmith, as my front door is getting worse - my colleague had to force it with the wrong key about 7 - 8 years ago (with me standing by, my fault entirely) and I've coped with it for a long time, but quite often now it takes me 5 minutes to open the door, even with the key. So I cleared the porch, pretty well, guy turned up, changed the barrel of the lock, and we'll see. By the way, I *hate* modern upvc doors - when the handle is turned, it kind of covers the lock! I've seen them on other people's houses too/endrant.I had a little hand knitting experiment yesterday too: a hand knitted flower, to go on a birthday card. I think I can make it work, but I'm not always a naturally tidy person 😀 and sometimes I'm too tidy, so it's a bit bizarre 😀Cuppa tea in bed this morning! Bliss ...

Right, life is a little bit more under control, which is good. I have a little ta-da list!
- green bin was collected today, and I spent two days energy getting long grass, ivy, previously cut branches and twigs that were supposed to be made into wood ash and nettles, all of them into it. Garden is a lot tidier, except for recent leaf fall
- finally activated my Regular Saver with Principality by sending it some money. I’ll check later today if it actually arrived. Haven’t been able to automate that process yet, but I should.
- found a little artisan maker of lovely soaps – thats the start of Christmas shopping for me, hurray.
- hmmm, not sure I’ve got time to do the knitting for a birthday card now. Might still give it a go, but its not top of the priorities.
- what is top is to post three birthday cards today. Weird, to have them all on the same day.
- one very small job on my Big List was done in the garden over the weekend. It took me about 10 minutes, literally. A small windowbox had some self sown salad burnet in, but was also overgrown by couch grass. I upended everything, got the roots of the couch grass out (they were obligingly in a mat at the very bottom) got the drainage stones in the right place, and replanted the good stuff. When the fence has been done, over the winter, that can be planted out perfectly safely, and I’ll use the windowbox for something else.
- as well as the birthday cards, I need to do a bit of packing today. I’m staying with my sister for 2 days, her dental work means she needs to be accompanied at home. I was very mean and told her that I want the password to her broadband, so I can continue to use my phone and kindle (phone has practically no bandwidth, and I’m not getting into buying extra again!). Actually, it has enough mobile data for email, and thats all I really need.
Okay, that turned into a to-do list, as well as a ta-da list. Thats okay! But I do need some time around the forum, thats crucial!

You're sounding much more on top of things Karma
I trust you were being silly when you said you were 'mean' for asking for the router password? I think that's entirely acceptable if you're helping her out. I did a survey recently that asked how long I'd be at someone's house before I asked for it in minutes! - that I found a bit extreme - I'd only use at family houses that I visit a lot unless I had a specific need to (i.e. I was working there for some reason) - in fact, I think I only have my Mum's wifi stored in my phone and that's because there's no mobile signal at her house.
I also need to post a birthday card today - it's obviously a popular time to have a birthday (all those dark and cold nights in January, me thinks!)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hiya madvix, yes I was being silly
she's got unlimited, just like me, so it won't matter (except she's freaked about finding it, but realised straight away its printed on the modem). Don't surveys ask for some mad things! Dear me ...
Yeah, I feel much more on top of things - it really was the physical energy that crashed, but of course that feels horrible emotionally too.I think you're right about long January nights2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
I think it's one of the most commonsense things in the world these days - that modems actually have the details printed on them - and the magic button to connect up is brill too. If only life was as simple in other areas!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

You know what, I'm going to shut down the computer right now and go for a walk round the block. It's sunny!

Don't know about you lot, but the only thing I want to do on a long January night is sleep! - This is why I have no children

Very jealous of your salad burnt, I would love some for the alloment. I look for it everytime i go to a garden centre and none of them sell it. Think I will have to order some online. We did grow some at the old allotment but when we moved we didn't take any with me which I've regretted ever since.

*Just googled salad burnet* Oh, I know what you're talking about now! Does it taste nice? Is it a perennial then?
