I'm still finding the 'new and improved' forum a problem to negotiate. Some of it seems counter-intuitive to me. I stopped all notifications because although I visit/subscribe to so few threads I still had pages of new emaill notifications every time I logged on to my email account. I obviously visit the most fast-moving and popular diaries!
Wishing everyone who visits this diary a good week. I don't know about anyone else but I'm quite looking forward to seeing a bit of rain for a change. My garden certainly is anyway.4 -

Similarly, I turned off all notifications to help me from disappearing down the rabbit hole
I use bookmarks day-to-day, but once a month schedule in a rabbit hole session to check out new treads & decide if they are a positive place to hang around.
4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!3 -
I turned off all notifications years ago
Regularly checking on new threads, outside of existing bookmarks, is a good idea! Though there are plenty of people I like on here whose diaries I don't have time to visit! Life is short
I don't like this forum as much as the old - I'm sure its not as expensive to run, and we don't pay, after all, so I guess I can live with it - but if I'd arrived with it like this, I might not have stayed.Anyway - I'm exhausted today! Worrying about the two deliveries - which both arrived, and were safely distanced. I tried to hammer open the stuck side gate, no deal, so I ended up using the wheelie bit of the shopping trolley to cart the 50 litre bags through the house (yikes). I also then cleaned the track through the house with *very* soapy water, hoping to kill any virus I tracked through. And this is some of the vinyl that hasn't been cleaned in at least two years, so it was a bit of a win-winThe other parcel was my computer! I haven't done a thing with it, tbh, I needed to rest, but I'm thrilled I've got it. Very grateful for all the good bits!2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
I read that as you using a wheelie bin through the house! No wonder you're exhausted, moving 50 litre bags of stuff around... Hope you plan to do nowt but feel smug at what you've managed to do, for at least 3 days...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Good news on the deliveries though yikes to having to cart it all through the house. Enjoy the warm glow of 'your precious' until you have rested4

Good for you, KC, getting the compost safely to where you need it even though it must have been really tiring for you. You always seem to come up with a solution for all life's problems, I genuinely admire your ingenuity xxx
It's always good when deliveries finally arrive, I hate the uncertainty of 'will they won't they turn up when they are supposed to'. The couriers are really deserving of whatever they earn these days. All the ones who come here are cheerful and helpful, leave stuff where my front door note asks them to, and invariably shout me a friendly greeting and give me a wave (from a safe distance of course). I love not having to sign for stuff too, I wish that innovation would carry on when life gets back to normal.
Happy times ahead with your new laptop. Maybe the promised rain will give you the opportunity to spend some quality time with it.4
