I think JL customer service has really gone downhill over the last 5 years or so - they're no better than many other retailers nowadays, sadly
Had to look up the GP practice and the French resort - I've not been following the news.... am terrible at living in my own bubble!

Even the customer service desk at our local W@itr0se has become appalling! The last time I picked up a package (from the after xmas sales), the pretty young thing behind the counter barely acknowledged my presence (as she was too busy flirting with the equally young manager) and waived me in the direction of a machine where I had to enter my own (very long) order number! A very difficult feat when a) one's reading glasses are at home/work b) mild dyscalculia is an issue and c) it's shopping with JL, for goodness sake, personal customer service is not an outlandish expectation!
Both of OH's parents worked for JL, and he's constantly horrified by how inhumane the shopping experience with them has become!

Just in case it makes you feel better, I worked with a lady who had been in Lisbon when they had their peaceful revolution (she went in to a cafe and a dictator ran the country; came out and things had changed somewhat!), in Madrid when Carrero Blanco was killed by a car bomb. And I'm sure there were more incidents - she said that her mum knew which bit of Europe she was in just by following the news!

Oh my, apple! I'm not as bad as that, thats for sure
Nope, madvix has it right - I'm not currently frequenting either place, so all's well
So sad about JL going downhill though, I feel such affection for it - or I did, anyway!
RT - nope, I haven't tried out the vac, its sitting just by the front door stillI've been on a frenzy of tidying and sorting and shifting things around - photos from my mum, elderly French tax papers, last week's supermarket delivery, washing the new sheet and pillowcases etc, cherry laurel branches from the back of the garden, you name it, I've been shifting it. Until this morning, in the middle of absently mindedly flicking through my emails, I opened one from my brother, and found ... you guessed it, a bitcoin scam, argh. I didn't press anything after that point, but I did open it, it looked like it was an Express article. So I turned off the computer right away, thank heavens for phone data - switch the modem off, scan the computer, back it up, change passwords, basically. It took a while. I think my computer's safe though, since I switched it all off quickly enough. Must be awake to go through my emails. Must buy another computer, I don't think I'll wait for my nephew ... Just off to have a pootle about the forum, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms!

Aah, but the key thing is that you never go to your apartment and you’re no longer at the surgery... so you’re safe!Usually its a good thing for me! Even in Russia last year, there was a four-person demonstration (in support of Putin!) which I took photos of, with permission. Usually I see anti-war demos - Crete, Madrid - though occasionally its football supporters kicking off

Morning! I'm trying to get back in the swing of things, all that shopping discombobulated me and wore me out. And I still haven't done my French accounts (and I can't remember the last time my French accountant nagged me, which is more worrying). So thats the priority today, more or less. The other thing is to watch uk.flightaware, to watch my sister's plane come in from points west

At least her plane should be able to land!

Apple, I was thinking exactly that
it was a fast journey
Haven't spoken to her yet, overnight journeys bollix up sleep patterns, we've emailed and whatsapped.
As for me, I'm up and down like a yoyoI did too much yesterday, because I was feeling good, so now I feel like carp. So difficult to know what to do. I'm catching up on cleaning in the house, basically, things that haven't been cleaned for 3 - 4 years, maybe more (embarrassed smiley) thats when the chronic fatigue was worst, and other things have had more priority, including perennial weeds in the garden.
