Good morning! September, oh my word. Okay, finances:
    - lodged the cheque for the sale of the book, that was good.
    - at the same time, took in £1 of pennies, got a shiny coin back :)
    - ordered a £5 SB voucher. Amazon vouchers now up to a respectable £50 or so: having got rid of the vastly over-complicated 2nd hand food processor, I want to buy a simple stick blender. Recommendations gratefully received.
    - my tv licence ran out yesterday, and I decided not to renew for a couple of months (it will "repay" the debt from the melted/rancid frozen food :o). I've pulled the aerial out of its connection.

Of course, I need viewing, because I still can't do much: but I have a lot taped that I haven't watched yet, I have a lot of DVDs (a few of which I haven't watched) and there's non-live streaming services too. I watched S1ep1 of Hunted on Channel4 last night, it was fascinating :rotfl: I've only watched the very latest series.

Options are the same as Friday's, oops: cleaning, gardening, clearing the paperwork in the porch :rotfl:

Well, I did the gardening bit :) I created a little weed-free patch between the rosemary and the awful knot of overgrown plants and weeds that I mentioned (ragwort, brambles, grass, geums, bindweed, *those* weeds) ... tried to protect the worms by putting a few unused plantpots on it. I'll do more of that today.

Didn't go on the healthy walk today as I need to save my physical/ social energy for my sister tomorrow and a horticultural society trip to Wisley (!!!!) on Thursday. I really hope that works, and doesn't set me back again. There's already a trip on Wednesday I don't have the spoons to go on. I'm just going to treat September as if it was my August, which I'd dedicated to getting things straight.

I'm going to do the admin of rejoining U3A today, send the card I didn't send over the weekend, check the diary for other things, and most of all clear the porch, since sister will definitely get that far into the house tomorrow.

I had a wry smile at that;). Our porch tends to be a staging-post for things we unload from the car, deliveries, bags and boxes destined for charity shops or the tip. All the stuff that we plan to leave there 'for now' and which takes root:o. The rest of the house is as clutter-free as I can make it but the only bit that callers at the front door see is the glory hole of a porch:eek:

I'm slightly paranoid and imagine they're thinking what a !!!!!! I am and even half feel like apologising and saying the rest of the house isn't like that. There's too much of the 'the lady doth protest too much' about that course of action though and I just feel quietly embarrassed as their eyes take in the mess:(

Hi KC - we have a Br@aun Multiquick, which I purchased in @sda about 8 to 10 years ago! - it has the plastic shaft, not the metal one, and a small chopping bowl attachment as well - If I remember correctly it was about 20 pounds - but with inflation a quick search reveals that they are about 35 to 40 now - I love it! can chop onions quickly in the bowl & also with the stick puree soups & smoothies - only takes a quick rinse in warm water to clean! - it gets used about once a week and has lasted a good long time for the investment :)
    4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)
(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)
    ...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)
New projection - 14 YEARS 8 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 16 mths)
Psst...I may have started a diary!

I felt you would, beanie. I'm tired right now, but I get another burst of energy later on.

Yes :j It's exactly that, the staging post bit! And welcome, Scrimpress, by the way - excellent name :)

You know what, people don't see it. My sister has been in and out of this house for years, including sleeping here the day after I had an outpatient operation. And I mentioned the actual **mould** in the living room, there was a huge patch on some woodwork, and she'd never seen it. Never. Nowt so queer as folk!

Haven't done too badly. Did SB, wrote the card out and posted it, tidied a bit of the bedroom, and *completely* tidied the porch, including washing down the packets that were there, woo hoo. I'm just going to have 15 minutes on the computer, and then dedicate 20 minutes of my life to clearing more weeks :rotfl:

    ETA - weeds. Clearing **weeds**!

Oops, stayed out slightly too long, very nearly an hour, so although I still feel energetic, I'm sitting down watching a dvd. Good though - cut short a lot of grass, cleared up the brambles I'd cut yesterday, and cut a *lot* more. No more digging, unfortunately, but some of the really long brambles were starting to root, so thats roots avoided, so to speak :)

Well done with the garden, hope you sleep well and have a good day with your sister tomorrow :)

Meant to say I also have a Br@un multiquick stick blender which I've had for donkeys and its still going strong. Wasn't very expensive and blends soup, purees fruit, mashes 'stuff' down nicely and gets used a lot.

Thanks for that, teapot - I noticed that that one breaks in two easily, with the food part being dishwasher-safe. That certainly ensures I'll use it regularly.

I'm just sorting out a few quick bits online, then we're walking around the community farm thats 10 minutes away. Hope everyone has a good day.
