    Giggles are good :):):)
Unbelievably, my morning went as planned! I took photos of the cats etc, wrapped them up, and I was out. Achievements:

    - dropped them off at the hospice shop (I may not go there again. The guy behind the counter was very snarky when I said I couldn't gift aid them. So I said loudly, "I can't gift aid them because I don't earn anything". I don't need that kind of hassle.

    - bought a new shower cap, £3.50 in Boots, vibrant turquoise that echoes the kitchen tiles (next door!). Also looked for a fly swatter, but no deal.

    - checked at Curry's that the local branch know about the recycling scheme. They do! And they take cables! I'll go in there on Tuesday, try to remember to ask about the computer.

    - Iceland-the-shop :rotfl:frozen and fresh veggies. And since I'm needing to be totally honest, I bought a two pack of veggie bakes, reduced to £1. Which were not only disgusting, but also full of gluten.

Feet were hurting when I got back, so I'm just hiding from the sunshine right now.

Shocking attitude at the hospice shop.

It was, beanie, it was. I don't mind them asking, every charity asks these days, but for him to have a snark didn't feel good, and that followed me round all afternoon.

The Iceland veggie bakes, though disgusting, were also wonderful, by the way, I didn't say that in my original post :rotfl:

I've been sorting out the DIY/ gardening stuff under stairs, which was further discombobulated when I put kitchen stuff there. I don't know where anything is, so I've got all the containers out (plastic crates) and I'm rearranging. I'm going to label them afterwards

Did half an hour in the garden, picking up three foot long grass stems full of seed  did me the world of good, and helped the garden too :)

    Morning (just)! Doing well :):):)

    - went to the Open Gardens village thingummy, absolutely amazing, some of them. A normal suburban garden (50 feet long, the width of a terraced house) had been done over into a tropical jungle, another had an acre of land and their soft fruit cage was the size of my whole garden :D They have a geodesic dome (containing a grapevine) that overlooks the local allotments.

    - also spent a long time yesterday assessing expansion of my kindle and my phone, and backing up both them and the laptop. I think I've got some fairly inexpensive solutions, though for some of it I'll check things out at Curry's tomorrow on my recycling visit.

    - went to the healthy walk this morning, longer because the regular guide's off walking the Camino de Santiago for two months :rotfl:

    - started tidying up the under the stairs cupboard, which is a completely confused space.

    - SB - a very few short, "high value" surveys have made me pleased with them this weekend :)

    - today - so many choices  :rotfl:  clean the sink upstairs, do lots more work in the garden, use up the last two eggs of my previous egg purchase, phone brother, and definitely finish off the under the stairs cupboard, the stuff is all over the kitchen right now :D

  • For someone who takes life at a gentle pace, that seems a lot Karma, I hope you have some sitting time at some point.

:o:o:o there's so much more I could have put in!

But I'm still sitting, actually :rotfl: and I will be for a while longer, I haven't had a cuppa tea yet :rotfl:

    Yes I cleaned the sink.
Yes I did *some* work in the garden - gathered up all the rubbish that was drying out and put it in the green bin. Yes I also picked some handfuls of more seedheads.
Yes I finished up the tidying and rearranging of the underthestairs cupboard, and incidentally quite a lot of the porch too, needs must. Two items emptied out in the cupboard. In the porch, I've swapped a large container for the paper recycling for a much smaller one, and tidied office jobs up to the office. That corner was getting like an obstacle course, and now it isn't :)

If we don't get any rain tonight, I'll be doing some watering. I'm feeling *extremely8 grumpy, and being outside will help.

Sorry that you are feeling grumpy. OH has been lately so I'm staying out of the way and pretending to be working!

Your progress sounds good though, even if you are feeling a bit grumpy.

Thanks earthgirl :) yep, staying out of the way is the best tactic, I think - I'm doing that myself, not speaking with anyone (apart from the healthy walk - I can fake it long enough to do that).

*Very* sleepless night because of it though, not helped by how noisy the rain was :rotfl: and here we see the benefit of being A Retired Person - I woke up naturally, at 8.50! I genuinely don't remember the last time I woke that late, astonishing. At least the rain has finished, for me anyway :rotfl:

Given that its already gone midday, my ta-da list and to-do list are fused today :) :
    - SB, a bit, I've been successful the last few days, so the target is unreachable.
    - paid for the tiling. My word - the guy did a lovely job, but it only took two hours and the labour element is £275 **faints** It might also include fixing the central light and sealant issues, though.
    - circled some money back to my savings account from my current account.
    - in doing that, found that the cheques of mine that my sister recently cashed (our holiday expenses) have been debited twice.

Doh! Luckily, I need to go into the town centre:
    - drop off the electrical recycling at Curry's.
    - take my phone and kindle in to check about expanding internal storage, and backing up. Both Curry's and Carphone Warehouse, where I bought the phone, might later be annoyed with me for doing this :o
    - might try for a fly swatter somewhere.
    - continue with the cleaning upstairs that I started last night, that felt positive, and it really, really needs it.

    - or tame the jungle outside :D

Not sure about kindle back up but my phone uses the charger to connect to the phone and the USB plug-in to connect to a PC and copies everything I have stored on it across. I do rely on my Google account for my contacts now though, and anything I download to the phone I add to my google drive as a back-up.

Our local hardware store used to sell these (link) but everyone seems to want extendable or electronic tennis racquet style zappers these days.

I hope you are not feeling grumpy today :o
