I am, I assure you! "I don't know how" is infinitely preferable to bravado
Not a problem, madvixAnd you do mostly organic on that? Okay, *that* I can't do, I'm super impressed :rotfl:I use organic eggs and honey, and thats about it
Thank you for popping in under those circumstances! And yes, it tastes so much better, there's a real appreciation there for me
It's utterly beautiful, all this afternoon, I can hardly believe it! And sadly, I can't stay at Totnes *and* get to Greenway very easily - ahem - it will have to be Paignton :rotfl: which I think is one of the towns known as "god's waiting room" :rotfl: it's my first normal holiday (ie on my own, under my own steam) for years, and I don't think I'm up for two centre shenanigans.
You could get the bus from Totnes to Paignton and then the steam train from there to Greenway halt? Admittedly staying in Paignton eliminates the need for the bus journey but it is quite a nice journey sitting on the top deck admiring the views. One of our favourite trips is drive to Totnes, bus to Paignton then steam train to Kingswear/Dartmouth and boat back to Totnes. Greenway halt is the next stop on I think although I have not done it for many years. You can get a round robin ticket. You can also get a ferry to Greenway from Dartmouth. I must look into doing it again soon. I have a U3a walk next week if my cough is better round Hope Cove which is just down the road from there. Beautiful part of Devon.

Thanks for that, enthusiastic saver
but honestly, after managing to get down there at all, a two-stage journey for a day out would be inadvisable. Realistically, staying there for a week, I'll be happy if I manage 3 days out - the alternate day will be needed to rest. As I say, its my first normal holiday for years, after years of the fatigue, I'm not going to set myself up for failure with long daily journeys. Always good to think these things through, though, so thanks for suggesting different ways

Sounds sensible to pace yourself in view of your health issues. I am sure you will love greenway no matter how you get there.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Morning all! Well, "ugh" to adrenaline waking me up at 4.30 in the morning ... my body doesn't process that well, grrr. Jobs done:
- put the WM on a proper wash - 40 degrees :rotfl: - for bedding,
- gone back to noting elec and gas readings once a week (Monday wasn't working)
- the last piece of immediate online admin, paid for my domain name for another year.
- bits of SB while I woke up.
It's sunny! I need to stay in the front, because hopefully the builder is arriving after an early morning appointment to finish the you-know-what :rotfl: so it's going to be the front border that receives my tender attentions, as well as sorting the rubbish bin for tomorrow.
There's a huge amount of cleaning to do in the house, and all this sort of cleaning and sorting is *extremely* boring at this level of intensity, but I do feel that if I can get at it, I'm finally going to have a solid base, and I'll be able to get out much more.
It might be worth sorting my broadband today. I have a Sky Essentials offer through the post of £26 a month, and an email offer from TalkTalk, who I'm currently with, of £20 a month - but I'm not absolutely sure what either of them entails, and I'm pretty sure TalkTalk have been deducting more than their offer describes. I'll check on the bank statements.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I braved contacting TalkTalk on the phone, which I loathe passionately ... my contract ran out, it was £30 a month until February, unlimited broadband and UK calls to mobiles and landlines, then in March it was £32.43, then April and May it was £37. This month the website says £40 (!!!!) but the new contract should take it back to £30, and they *say* it will start within the next 24 hours. So I've kind of wasted either £14.43 or £24.43. Not wonderful, but I can live with either of those.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

The builder has been :j:j:j lovely pretty sealant :j
I've cleaned the work surface, I won't move anything onto it till this evening
There's now a lot of cleaning to do. Everywhere :rotfl: But my home is my own again! Feels very satisfying, as well as having a lovely kitchen to show for it.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
