The chronic fatigue got started because I pushed myself too hard. And that was what I was doing all over again in thinking I could just *go* tonight. So I've listened to my body, made the phone call, sent the regrets email

Aw sorry you weren't able to go along KC, but sounds like it was definitely the right decision for you.0

Thank you all - yep, my body was definitely protesting - I feel a bit wiped this morning, but okay, considering how bad I felt last night. So what was it protesting about? I think it was the intensity of the evening - I had to get to my partner's, then we had to drive to a little village 10 miles away, then spend the evening with people I knew very well 30 years ago, and a few acquaintances I last saw about 20 years ago. And then come back (driven to my door by my partner) at who knows what time?
I managed evenings out on the cruise holidays last year precisely because there was no stress about walking for two minutes to the venue or the cabin. My sister was even wiser than she knew when she suggested a cruise holiday would be do-able for me.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Glad you don't feel so bad this morning KC, it does sound like a very full-on and packed evening.
I find the idea of reunions quite strange and anxiety provoking. I sort of feel 'well if I haven't seen you or been in touch for 40 years I can obviously manage well without your company. It will be like spending a weekend with a group of strangers'. Those were my thoughts when invited to a weekend of school reunion a few years ago. Needless to say I didn't go and felt fine about it0 -
Thanks teapot
there were also a lot of weirdness there (I just tried to describe it briefly and failed, so deleted it all ), just too much like hard work. Love your point about having got along without all these people perfectly well for the last umpteen years, I really do :rotfl:
So today, I've tidied up, swept most of the porch, a wm load, couple of armsful of kitchen stuff gone upstairs, and some dry wood given to my neighbour for kindling. Just moving very slowly, and taking lots of time (though I can feel the gland thing increasingly active - evenings just aren't good for me to be moving around2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hope that you feel more like yourself soon.

Hope you are feeling better now, I can understand how the evening would be tiring, especially getting back late. I had a night out -just to visit a friend and as I was getting a life back, came away much later thannormal, so ended up really tired yesterday.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j
