Yep, I think my health has gone up another level, actually, certainly while I'm kicking about at home. But being able to choose my activities completely while at home has been great for me, gradually upping the level of activity and all of it focussed on getting the house and garden liveable. I really wasn't ready last year to go out and do stuff, I was working on other people's timetables. Now I'm on my own timetable, its much better.

Speaking of which ... although its almost *warm* outside today, I'm not going on the council walk. It's raining on and off all the time, and the walk isn't really a walk, its a slow saunter while nattering - I just don't want to be out there, walking at that pace, in this weather. Just thought, what I might do instead is to take the charity shop bag over to the shop (its in the other direction :o). That gets me an *actual* walk, gets me and the bag out of the house. Win-win.

    I have:
    - confirmed cat sitting dates :)
    - spoken with kitchen designer.

Not had any paperwork proving my payment yet, which is slightly scary but then I paid over the phone, not in person, because I temporarily misplaced my credit card (before the scam) ... fair enough. Also had an email and a start date (quite late) from the builder, but he "forgot" to include plastering in the total quote, though he says he wrote it on the paperwork. Thats £1100 he suddenly remembered :( so I mentioned that too. Not altogether happy about the administration of all this.

    Win-win indeed:T:j

I don't know whether your council walk involves footpaths but if you've had anything like the amount of torrential rain we had here overnight such a walk would definitely be best avoided:eek:. It's still raining here although slightly less so.

After my No Spend On Groceries month I'm having a big stock-up today and letting the Morrisons delivery man take the strain;). No way I'm going aquaplaning down the lanes here:eek:. Then probably getting soaking wet on the trek from the badly designed Morrisons car park to the entrance door and even wetter while I unload my trolley into the car. Thank goodness for home delivery:j:j:j

    I love home delivery :):):)

I'm never moving bank account again, though :( They've been really good in lots of ways, but the sheer admin level isn't something I want to put myself through. I made a cc payment on Friday, after the new cc came through after the scam, and the payment was returned the next day. So I rang up the bank and put it through on the phone, which I always hate, and the guy had a really strong accent from a different part of the UK that made it really difficult for me to understand him, it nearly went pear-shaped, but it seems that its gone out. There's a hint there that I input my own bank account details? I don't think so, I remember looking for the cc details in the small print on the back of the statement, but who's to know, really? Can't prove anything. But I'll have to log on constantly over the next few days to check that this one has gone through.

Still, the bonus payment arrived today, without me requesting it :) £125. I've worked for that, I tell you!

While I was at it, I sent an experimental fiver to link in to the other savings account. I'll send more when I know its arrived safely.

Now I have to open an ISA, and the ones the bank has really aren't high enough interest, so off I go to the right page on Martin's main pages.

What a stressful series of events. It's such a scary time when there's any prospect of our money being somehow 'lost' . I hope everything works out OK in the end. Just more worry you could do without. Sending hugs xxx

OH doesn't do anything online, he's a total technophobe:eek:. He wants to open another ISA and keeps asking me if I've seen anything good on my online travels. I find it very amusing that a man who has always been so astute with his money and has never owed a penny in debts all his life (apart from the small mortgage) should be asking me, a totally money numpty for financial advice:rotfl:

Yep, its gone a bit mad! Holding fire on the isa currently, until I know the 2nd savings account has linked up successfully, and until the cc payment has got to the right place, I can't have *three* things on the go, two is plenty :) Good news is that I already have an isa at one of Martin's best buy listings.

Transferred some of the dosh to the first savings account. Only 0.9% p.a. interest, but better than nothing.

Had to change the PIN - when I rang about the cc, I recited the whole PIN by mistake, and thats not fair to the staff member on the other end of the phone.

I'm so glad I didn't do the walk this morning! This lot needed doing, and its *still* raining.

Good, I'm glad, beanie - it wasn't at all what I thought it might be, much more interesting.

There was already something on the go - the kitchen renovation and the extra money the builder wanted. Ringing the kitchen fitter, which I mentioned earlier, has paid off in spades: the kitchen company will take £500 off my bill, and the builder will take £200 off - I'm still paying a bit more, but its £400 more, not £1100 more, so thats a result. And lets face it, I can't do any of it myself!

Thanks beanie :) I've just been out in the drizzle for an hour - this time, I've been digging up self sown alpine strawbs, unless you spend *hours* pruning them, they send runners out so crazily that there's only an inch between the plants :( Another couple of feet cleared, bit of topsoil chucked on top to give the worms a chance then bark chippings on top of that. That linked up two little bits I'd already done - about 30% of the garden is starting to look like a normal garden!
