And thats exactly what happened  I was just finishing off navvying, getting some big long brambles into the green bin, and a deliveryman for next door smiled at me and said hello. That doesn't happen! Ever! Except when you're wearing a plastic tiara

    Fantastic! What a great ice-breaker.

….. I've got to agree that if I had a tiara I'd wear it too!

So would I. Sounds fun:j. I love the delivery man reaction, KC:beer:

I might see if I can pick one up for pennies when I trawl round the charity shops for books;). In the meantime I think I have a plastic (dead tasteful, me) Alice band somewhere. If I could find it and titivate it a bit it might pass for a tiara with delivery men:rotfl:

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Loving it! And it's all thanks to CR's DD2 :)

It's the 1st February, you know. And there's still snow on the ground! And I haven't sorted my aims for this month, apart from finishing off ongoing plots and plans:
    - finish up garden pruning and weeding.
    - tidy house and make space to clear out the kitchen in a few months time.
    - do the French accounts for France.
    - carry on sorting the genealogy papers.

Oh :p that's probably enough :p Except, I did a blog post but I wasn't really happy with it, I need to pay more attention to it if I'm going to bother. And at any time in the 2nd part of the month, I might be called on for catsitting duties   :A

Definitely a tiara day for me today.... I need the lift it offers - especially if I've got to clean the toilets as per Flylady! :rotfl:

Loving the delivery man story Karma.... what a way to brighten his day! :D

    Have a good day!

  • Going to pinch the amy clip love it. Karmacat its me who wear the tiara around the house not DD2 (she is 2nd inline), as I am the Queen of my domain:rotfl:. When the girls were little and wanted to be princesses I would put my wedding dress on and would be the Queen and DH would put on his tux and be the butler. They loved it and I obviously took advantage of been able to boss DH around and if he disobeyed it would be 'off with his head' in a very red queen in Alice in Wonderland tone.
Hope you all have a tiara wearing, either in real life or fantasy, kind of day.

Sorry CR, I misread that originally then! That's even better, actually, since it's another grownup doing it :rotfl: I love that you and DH playacted for the kids :)

List making day today: a ta-da list, a list of the big jobs as above this morning, and the little bits of jobs that I want to do this month, some of which will only take 10 mins.

The ta-da list is snippets of all kinds of jobs, transferring money, tidying clothes, paperwork sorting, a bit of cutting back a useless shrub in the front garden, dishwasher has just finished. I'm sure I could have done more, but it didn't quite work out that way :rotfl:

Oops ... I was slowly getting going, and I just checked what time the local horticultural society is doing their thing this afternoon. Not this afternoon! It started at 9.30. I'm off :)

I did go - and it literally was a coffee morning and a seed swap (could also buy packets of seeds for 50p each). So I spent £2 on entry and 2 packets seeds, basil and kale, just in case I need some fresh seeds.

I also tried to use up my paypal balance on the Thompson & Morgan offer via mse just now, but it says it was declined - though it also says I might have received a confirmation email anyway! Hmmm. I shant bother going through the order faff again right now, in that case.

I think the order may be too much for my small patch of soil, so you are welcome to some of my plants.
