When it reopens, that'll be a good trip, beanie
I managed to speak with my brother, nice long chat, hurray, and had a pleasant surprise with an existing savings account, it already had my new current account details, so I sent a fiver through to make sure they were linked up, and when I see that, I'll send through enough to qualify for the monthly payment. Then, over the next few days, I'll send through lots of that probate dosh to the existing savings account, separating things out a little bit.
I need to do that with my post office savings account too, that has a better interest rate.
ETA - odd situation on my currency exchange - £1 has bought E1.11 - E1.12 for quite a few months now. Today, £1 can buy E1.14, much better! What a shame I don't have to send any money :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ooh yes, airports are like train stations (although I think they're more romantic!). Last time I was near your local airport Karma I was being a passenger on the back of a 100-year-old car on the dual carriageway through the middle of it - I did wonder what the people waiting for the buses at the airport must have thought! :rotfl:
Yes, train stations are good too. I like St Pancras. If we go to London, we normally go in via St Pancras these days, as there are good loos, lots of places to stop for a coffee, and as it's an International station, there's the additional feeling of the excitement of foreign travelI doubt its going to be this week, sadly - instead of two Yellow Warning days at the Met Office, there are now four  i.e. from now till Friday! 0 centigrade is the high point in temperature terms
We had some snow last night, but most has disappeared now. However, with all those weather warnings around, I'm fully braced for more!Early retired - 18th December 2014

St Pancras is lovely nowadays, yes! When I worked in West London I was really getting fed up, and I used to spend my lunchtimes at Paddington, just drinking in the atmosphereThats a few miles up the road from me but I've never beenTomorrow, I'll be off to the local Sainsbo to spend the rest of my Nectar points (tho my kitchen will give me lots more
) and then on Friday to the airport.
My new cc has arrived, so my last job (after a quick detour to Westeros) is to pay off the cc, which might take some jiggery pokery, as its a new number. Juggling ahoy2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I'll put the tiara on my desk as I go into the office this evening, so I can put it on first thing tomorrow

I am wearing my tiara :rotfl:
I was slightly concerned I wouldn't remember I had it on if I went out to the bin (at the front of the house) or something, but it pushes in to my hair a bit like a slide, so I can feel it enough to remember its there :rotfl: mind you, it would give passers-by a bit of a laugh on a day as cold as today :rotfl:
I popped out before sunup (tiara-less) to take a photo of the moon, with a planet either side, very impressive. Photos are rubbish, but they'll remind me.
Not going to post a to-do list: I'm finishing off leftovers from yesterday, and I'm not going out in this when its so unecessary, the walk to town in the cold really took a lot of energy for me. Might do a bit in early afternoon when its "warmed up" :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I wear my wedding tiara (that makes it sound ridiculous!) sometimes around the house
