Morning all oh my word, it's cold out there, and bright white everywhere, so I'm not going out until the whiteness disappears (hopefully). To do:
- submit tax return, there's no point hanging on to it.
- two phone calls and an email!!! Thats a lot!
- hmmm, there's tidying and cleaning, plus scanning, to do upstairs; hasn't been done in heaven knows how long, and it will help towards preparing to move everything out of the kitchen

CBC, I feel for you.... it's hard living in a house that isn't very functional. Fortunately, we've got ours into a good state now, but I know how it can get you down!

Thanks madvix! Submit button on the tax return is pressed - I hate it, though, I always have a feeling I've done something wrong, but thats just me
One phone call done, bit of tidying done, I'm going to get the recycling and garden rubbish out there now. One thing thats been delaying me is that I've discovered an X Files apocafic by one of the people who wrote a Stargate apocafic that I really like :rotfl: a nice bit of well-written end of the world is preferable to engaging with hmrc :rotfl:

But I like hmrc at the mo, cos after they got dh's form, they've sent me a letter telling me I'll be getting £228 back from them.

Ooh yes, I'd really like them in that situation :rotfl:
Mind you, I like them a little bit in my situation, because the French apartment, the divvies and the interest aren't creating any tax for me, so I'm happy.

Thanks both! Life is starting to get a bit busy ... I'm out of the house soon for the appointment with the kitchen planner, and the builder yesterday has sent me an estimate for the building work component of the kitchen (RSJ, replastering, all that) which is just over £4k - it'll probably go up to £5k because I forgot to include the repair of the plasterwork on the wall where the repointing died.

There are other repairs outside that need doing too: the vandalism to the gateposts, the gate that fell off it's attachment, and the garden gates that are stuck shut. No idea how much that little lot will be, but a fair amount.

Got to get going, though!
