Thanks apple! We sorted the sun :rotfl: I think she thought I was being a klutz :D but there's some fundamental shift between the two sets of holibobs we were looking at - either charges or number of people or a combo. Suffolk in June, £156; Essex in June, £62. Of course, Essex is mocked, continually, whereas Suffolk isn't, even though they're next door to one another - we ran the numbers half a dozen times, she ended up as puzzled as me, but we booked a lower-rate one , saving £90 between us, which is fine by me :)

And it was freezing out! Oh my word! The village pond has oxygenators, otherwise it would've been frozen. All very pretty, mind :)

Yup, this morning I'm still pleased about the holibob :)

Today, it's all about continuing what I was doing: weeding the garden, the tax return, tidying. Bleurgh :rotfl: but fine in the short term, it all needs doing after all :D Definitely got to hop about on here first, though.

Once again the paperwork from Santander was like a heavily-leaking pipe, and the website was an indecipherable nonsense. So once I got a human being on the phone, I mentioned the thing I wanted to do last year, which was sell my shares (freebies from when Abbey National was privatised). I decided to go for it then and there by phone - scrabbling after the last £5 by doing it the most economic way would cost me more trauma and aggro, after all. And I'm not at all certain that it would be possible to sell via share certificates: they come in dribs and drabs via a reinvestment programme, so I have literally dozens of them - I've no idea if some of them have accidentally been thrown out in the annual accounts purge.

I'd have made a lot more at another time, even May of last year - a third more than today. Even more than that both before and after the financial crash, though at the financial crash itself, it was about what it is now.

It makes tax declarations so horrible, it's a pittance, I didn't pay for them anyway, and as a rationalisation of my finances, it's fantastic! I'm really happy :) especially that the sale was done so easily.

Sounds like a great decision all round given the amount of faff for the reward, well done!
