Never tried it with red CBC, but I'm sure it would still be tasty. We use red for bolognese - just to differentiate the flavours a bit, but no reason why it wouldn't work! (It might need less liquid? Perhaps add a bit at a time until lentils are soft, rather than chucking it all in at the beginning.) Enjoy!

Tried it, themadvix, and it was absolutely delicious:j.

I took your advice about the liquid, especially as I added some chopped mushrooms and celery to it which contain water anyway. I had some pitta bread which I wanted to use up so I had it with that and what was left I ate with a defrosted and crisped up jacket potato for the next day's lunch. Definitely something I'll be making again. Thank you for the recipe:T

I'm not sure how the red compare with the green as I've never tried green yet. Don't even know what it was supposed to taste like:rotfl: but I found what I ended up making absolutely delicious and very filling.

Next time I go shopping I'll be buying some green lentils.

Hope all has gone smoothly KC. A sad day, but good that you are part of your brother moving forward :).
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Ah, gally, thats really nice, thank you. The saddest part was when I waved off my brother and sister in his car, and went back into the house to wait for the buyer.

    Update is being typed :)
2023: the year I get to buy a car
