So, I'm back home, the young rellies have returned to their flat, their cats haven't missed them becaues they had me (it was much the same story with the rabbit, to be honest
) and all's well with the world.
Washing has been on, and I really need to get my finger out on my finances:
- get that money to France.
- renew broadband and mobile, see what deals I can get.
- my energy provider contract has just finished too, need to check that and see if switching is worth it - debit has just gone up another £18, which is actually realistic, as its now the end of the summer and I'm still in debit to them, not credit.
- I still don't have a net worth amount, I got stuck last time on not having the account details at the Post Office. Must try again.
Alternating that with work in the garden, for the next week - I'm still not one of those "happily retired" peeps that go out and have a ball. Hmmm. I don't want to be busy, but I do want a bit more fun. Expect a few to do lists here this week2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Gosh KC, what a palaver you had with the bank! It almost makes me thankful that both my parents live in council houses and we'll have much less of this when they go
(hopefully not for a very long time...) What a trial all this bureaucracy is at al already difficult time.
Shocked at your talk of gardening though - is that actually possible where you are?? we've had an absolute deluge of rain the last two days - apparently more in the last day than the whole month of July  gale force winds too. I've been out when I had to but the thought of gardening is laughable  i had to wring my socks out yesterday, and it's raining INSIDE both the chicken shed AND the house  :rotfl:
But I suspect you won't be gardening if it's like that:rotfl:

Morning KC, just catching up and sorry to hear you’ve had such a palaver with the banks etc.
The past few weeks have sounded terribly busy for you!
I do hope you have some fun things planned in the near future0 -

I do hope you have some fun things planned in the near futureyes, you're right, it feels a bit *too* busy, I'm not happy about it. It's carrying on today, there were documents waiting for me when I got back yesterday that have to be copied and sent to my brother, including the freehold to the land on which the property is built. And I think I've misunderstood what a "certificated copy" means of a birth/marriage/death cert means, I think we've got more admin trouble storing up right there.
But the second part of your comment, yes I do have some good things coming up:
:j:j:j going to Margate next week briefly, to stay with another old friend.
:j:j:j going on a week's cruise in a fortnight!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Well, Cheery was right about the weather! I didn't even step out of the door
:o:o It was astonishingly bad, and the same is forecast for tomorrow.
So:
- scanning these documents that arrived yesterday.
- wrote a cheque I owe to bruv.
- wrote a welcome to your new home card to the games evening partner we just lost (to Glastonbury, happy for him!).
- I put my winter quilt on my bed!!!!
- tidied up quite a bit, though not enough
- downloaded and organised new photos from my phone and my camera, that was good
- even did SB still - though my totals have been so pathetic, my daily goal is minute
And Danny John Jules started Strictly off :j
I met him at a Comic Con convention, poor guy had slipped off to read the Sunday paper and have a cup of coffee, so when I realised that, I let him be  he was sweet.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

At the other end of the Scale of Coolness is Brian Rix, the trouser-dropping one (ask your OH!) who absolutely loathed me because the government money I administered had to be used on schemes that were union approved. And then I tried to get unions into the main workplace, and he nearly had a heart attack on the spot
I'd rather think of my Very Favourite British Columbian, the one who goes through the Stargate :j:j:j Cool or what2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I remember him - his disabled daughter used to live in a residential facility in Hampton Wick and that is how he became involved in MH Charities. He could be utterly charming, according to my MumSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
