Afternoon all :) well, it's properly pertiddling down, it's kind of crept up without me noticing :rotfl: so my plan to go to a market **isn't** happening! Instead:

    - another long discussion about the details of the sale on Merseyside.

    - an even longer situation with the cruise line - I'd sussed that we might get caught up in the whole ticket-agreeing-with-passport issue, because the cruise website wouldn't let us input our middle names, so three phone calls later, I've sorted that. Going to check its "taken" on the website tomorrow.

    - my accidental Amazon Prime trial runs out tomorrow, so I shut it off today. Going to check thats "taken" as well. I never got to watch Paddington 2 :o

    - I'm using the wm/tumble dryer today, as a pigeon pooed on me yesterday  people feed them, a *lot*.

    - both cats have reverted to the friendly behaviour of the later part of my stays: one jumps up on the bed while I'm in it :) and the other will allow herself to be stroked :) both these things make me happy.

    - and I opened a new tube of kitchen foil because I've realised the cats have no toys, not that I can see anyway. Mine used to lurve chasing about after aluminium foil (mostly chocolate wrappers, those were the days!) and these do too

    - going onto youtube now to look for some exercises.

I think the cats are a bit surprised by the cooler weather, ours has certainly got a lot more interested in lap cuddles in the last week. (I'm enjoying it)

Congrats on the house sale, KC!

Every cat we've ever had has loved chasing aluminium foil:rotfl:. Funny little creatures aren't they, cats?

One of our cats used to drive herself crazy scooting a ping pong ball around on the shiny uncarpeted floor of our kitchen-dining room. It could be hard work for me and OH as she often batted it behind or under some piece of furniture or appliance (frequently the washing machine:() and needed human intervention to retrieve it. She was never interested in any other kind of toy and apart from the foil never chased anything (except real live mice:(). The ping pong ball was a revelation though and she got lots of exercise from it:j. When I was at work I used to picture her dashing around and having fun chasing that ball:rotfl:

Thanks Michelle! Don't want to jinx it though :D my games evening buddy was supposed to move in April, and he's still not done so...

Absolutely **fond, adoring looks to the streak of fur in the next armchair**

A ping pong ball! What a good idea! They've been belting around for an hour or so with the foil, a ping pong would be ... remarkable :rotfl: I think they've been so timid, its never occurred to their staff that they might like playthings. I'll definitely have a natter.

There's a *lot* of tasteful floorboards in this maisonette :):):)

My sister's heading up to Merseyside today on the fly to attend to some stuff, so I need to text her soon. So for me, I'm starting to clear up my stuff here, and checking where I can go to play today :):):)

I hope the weather where you are is better for 'playing out' today, KC. I saw some footage on the news about the Notting Hill Carnival yesterday. I know it's maybe a fair distance from your location but it's roughly the same area. The rain was teeming down there but it didn't stop people being out and having fun:j. That's an event that I've always wanted to go to. Maybe one for the bucket list eh?

Absolutely awful here yesterday and OH went to the annual 1940s event in a village near here. It's always such fun but I didn't feel like going this year so he went on his own:o. He came home by noon as the rain had already started but he said there were plenty of people still out there enjoying themselves:T. It's on again today and the sun is trying its best to put in an appearance. I hope they do well as it takes such a lot of hard work to put it on every year and the small bunch of volunteers who do it are pretty elderly now.

You mention starting to clear up your stuff. Is that just ongoing tidiness or is your cat-sitting stint coming to an end soon?

You're spot on, CBC, thats exactly wehre I am, and that weather is why I didn't go out at all yesterday, it was **terrible** :rotfl:

I went to the Carnival when I was a proper Londoner, and, um, I got caught in a street crush, thankfully my partner pulled me out of it. I'd never go to the actual streets again!

The PA will take a while to shift, you've got to do stuff like that to take care of yourself :kisses3:

Its ending for now - I'm back home tomorrow, just booked a supermarket delivery for Wednesday, games afternoon on Thursday. I'm back here later in September :) and maybe this weekend too, if I can get to see the West London great nephews :rotfl:

Just catching up. Our boys love ping pong balls - I can confirm they work on carpet too, although not as spectacularly! Poor kitties with no toys! :(

Went to the carnival once with DH (was boyfriend at the time) and his dad. Was a great atmosphere and nothing untoward happened, but didn't really relax and enjoy it because of the worry that something might kick-off/bag might get pinched. I'm glad to have gone, but I wouldn't necessarily repeat the experience.
