    All change!

    - offer on the Merseyside house has been accepted it was 2.7% under the asking price, and we'd put it on at 10% *over* what the estate agent recommended. Three days for an offer! Possibly that local market is overheated, possibly the national market is too, but I'll be glad to get it all done and dusted.

    - I found a local branch of my own bank, so even sans debit card I went there to ask if there was any way I could access my own money, not expecting to be able to. Erm, I did. Filled in what used to be called a counter cheque, gave a signature, answered a security question (plus another actually, sort of by chance, about a saga that I detailed on here a while ago). And that was that, they gave me £100 _pale_ frankly I'm a bit alarmed.

    - after all that, I just paid a senior rate day return on National Rail to Waterloo, bit of a food market on the South Bank, and then to the Imperial War Museum. Generally interesting, but in terms of genealogy: Andersen shelters in the back garden (my grandad made his into a garden shed :) which I remember) and a desert lorry like my dad would have used in his listening post in North Africa. I really wanted to see something about the zeppelin raids in Kent, which my great grandfather was caught up in, and the British Army of Occupation after the Napoleonic Wars, but that might be a bit specialised :rotfl:

The previous RC Cathedral is right there in Lambeth, so that was good to see.

    Shattered and happy :):):)

It certainly is, beanie :) I slept better last night too.

Nothing much of the finances going on today - the most will be writing and research. And there's a Primark 10 minutes walk away, checking out sale items will be a good idea. And planning what to do tomorrow so things aren't quite so much on the fly!

Primark on a Saturday! KC you are brave :)

My plans for today involve sitting on the sofa & watching TV - a rare treat!

You must be relieved that the house sale saga is almost complete - We feel for you as our saga with OH's mother's house took years and a whole lot of effort!!!

Hi RT :) it's literally only 10 minutes walk away, so it was pretty much okay when I got there. Didn't buy what I went for, of course :rotfl: but I bought a bra (they've had good notices from People Who Know), fluffy insoles for £1, and a nightie - a long lasting one has 4 holes in the little sleeves, I just noticed

I'm not going to do anything else physical today - lots of walking the last two days, and my back was killing me :o So I'm going to be taking advantage of Ancestry's free weekend, to codify and sort my knowledge about my paternal grandfather, who was one of the most unlikeable characters I've ever met, I kid you not ... these are the vagaries of genetics :p
