Thanks both
CBC, fully doing that sort of job is a big thing, it *has* to be the only one on your list, I should think.
All I'll be doing is listing the items, that's if I can find my Freegle/Freecycle log in details:o. Since I started feeling so under par I seem to have totally lost the facility to get my brain into gear (if it ever was to start with:rotfl:). I still have the scanned photos so I don't have to even open the shed and trying to move and organise anything today for taking pics. I'm not too sure how long offer listings stay active on these sites or if they get wiped after a time. I really want to get it all sorted as it will be one less thing to clutter up my mind (as well as my surroundings). Whoever the lucky recipient of my largesse:rotfl: is they'll be told they need to empty the shed themselves. Last time I had it all out and organised into massive piles all ready for the no-show collectors. Don't feel up to doing that this time around but maybe I will by the time I get round to putting the offers on the website:o. Something tells me I'm not going to even bother trying to list the stuff today:o.
I used Freecycle quite a lot a few years ago for donating and receiving items but they reorganised themselves and it definitely wasn't so user-friendly the last time I tried:(.
I still miss my adored cat so much, it will be a whole year at the start of October since he had to be put to sleep. I know my life hasn't been the same since then, all the joy suddenly went out of everything. I envy you the local ginger cat to spend time with:T. OH and I both vowed we wouldn't take on another pet at this stage of our lives but not having our lovely boy in our lives has affected us both more than I can say.0 -
So pleased about your frog KC, perhaps it will spur me on to deal with my two, both e-mails, 1 to cousin and 1 to dear friend. We are going on holiday soon to W. Dorset, where we used to live, I would like to try and see her. I have been a lousy correspondent, not been depressed as such with illness, winter etc, but massive inertia:oToday I have plants to put in, some cutting back to do and want to try and weed a small area at the front. Continuing with the battle to thwart the wild strawberries, couch grass and the self seeding Granny's Bonnets who insist of seeding themselves within plants that I love and want to nurture, and so it continues...........:rotfl:
I'm really with you on hte strawberries - the Alpine strawberries that were here grew in mats, it was ridiculous, and very few strawberries. I'm still weeding, but I'm winning
I hope you do, too.

Right, a snack and on to the next bit ... see you all later :kisses3:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Well done on eating that frog KC! And I agree with the others - all in all, yesterday was a great ta-da day!
CBC - totally feel your pain re Freecyclers not turning up! I do get very frustrated with our Freegle group, but the systems they use are slowly improving, so you can tell if the person is likely to pitch up or is just randomly sending emails! Hope you manage to do some today.
Going to hunt down my ginger cat for a quick cuddle now - you've made me appreciate him! (Even if his tail is a bit bald because I went at it with the scissors last night - stupid cat followed me into the garage, walked under mini which has exposed CV joint and got covered in the thick, horrible grease on that! He's sporting a different hair cut now.... Honestly... definitely opt for the petting rights CBC! They're trouble sometimes!)

Sorry I'm just catching up with your diary KC and saw that Carbootcrazy may have Pernicious anaemia (PA). Sorry in advance for the hijack...
I was diagnosed with PA a few years ago. This is a link to some of the symptoms - many are very general and they can come on very slowly. Strictly PA is an autoimmune disease whereby the body attacks the stomach cells that produce something called intrinsic factor (IF) (and erroniously generate antibodies against this). This IF is essential to absorb B12. No IF = little to no B12 absorbtion. It is also pretty common that as we age, the same type of stomach cells decline in number, again leading to a problem with B12 absorbtion. Hopefully your GP has arranged for you to have a blood test for anti-intrinsic factor antibodies (the test for PA). Just to warn you the test is not great as approx 40-60% of those WITH PA will test negative so a negative result does not mean you do not have PA. Whatever the cause of a B12 deficiency (unless it is dietary or one of the rare treatable causes) the treatment is the same - injections. As soon as possible you should be started on loading injections - ideally in the next few days if they have not started already. These are 3 times a week for 2 weeks. Treatment is then 1 injection every 3 months. If you have any neurological symptoms the treatment is 3 injections a week until no further improvement (with a review at 3 weeks) and then 1 injection every 2 months. It can take a bit of time to feel better, especially if you are anaemic. (It can take a few months for the body to replace all your red blood cells. Oddly you can have pernicious anaemia without actually being anaemic at diagnosis!!). Some people struggle with having injections only every 2-3 months. If you have any questions feel free to either PM me or pop onto the perncious anaemia society forum on healthunlocked (I am an admin for them there).
KC - I'm really surprised your GP hasn't tested your B12 levels before, especially as you have had chronic fatigue type symptoms. They are some of the most common PA symptoms - definitely the ones I struggled with most and are my reminder that I need an injection when they return! It may be a good idea to get it check just in case.
........ end of belated hijack, sorry! :kisses3: Back to lurking again.... :wave:Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

taka, thank you so much for this post:T:A:. Full of useful information which I hope will also be helpful to others seeing as my ramblings on the subject have taken up so much of ever-patient KC's diary of late:o
I had my first injection yesterday morning and another one's due on Friday. The weekend and Bank Holiday then get in the way:( so the next one is scheduled for Tuesday morning. I'm feeling really optimistic now things have actually started happening although the GP warned me that the first course of injections shouldn't be viewed as an instant fix;). She's obviously sussed out that I'm a glass half full type of gal:rotfl:. So long as I get back to some sort of normal energy levels eventually I'll be happy. I've been so blessed with really good health all my life that this has knocked me for six psychologically as much as physically:o. Not being able to do what I want when I want is a nightmare. I know lots of people have that problem every day of their lives and I feel truly sorry for them.
Anyway, onwards and upwards eh?:j:beer:
I also agree with you, taka, that it would be a good idea for KC to ask her GP for a test although happily KC's energy levels seem to have improved massively which is wonderful news:j. I hope you are managing a relatively normal life yourself, taka, now your PA is being controlled:beer:0 -
Wow! Taka, thank you so much - on behalf of me *and* CBC, and all the other lurkers that might be out there struggling with this
Definitely makes me want to go ask for a B12 test from my GP when I get back ... my health has improved massively recently, there's no doubt, but I slip back into "not doing" so easily. Just this week as an example - here I am in London, one of the pre-eminent cities of the world, and I'm really tempted to just mooch about within walking distance of the lovely flat in which I'm catsitting, in Wandsworth. All because of a tiny setback - I forgot to bring my debit card and my Oyster card, so money isn't free to obtain, and I was just putting obstacle after obstacle in my way after that
:o:o
Of course, I'm checking obsessively on the cats as well :j I'm cooking fresh food, which I'm not used to :j and for the last four days (before I left my own house) I've had about an hour a day phone calls and texts and emails about the house we're selling, which adds up.
Still, okay. Its only just getting on to 11am. I can go somewhere this afternoon, buy an Oyster card with my credit card, the rush of phone calls has stopped now.

I've never been to the Serpentine Gallery, and there's so many ancestors who've been in the army, the National Army Museum might be appropriate. New great-nephew is currently on Merseyside, Brixton friend is currently in Edinburgh, an MSE friend might be in London but I feel bad about not contacting her till now (you know who you are!!!), I am so, so bad at the admin of arranging my life. Maybe that *is* B12 related, part of it. But I'm generally useless at arranging things2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
For me the life admin is really difficult, as well as the frogs mentioned earlier (still not done:o) I am really bad at phoning my family of Mum, sister and 3 bruvs. They are all great people and I love them dearly, but I am so bad at keeping in touch. I am fine with personal business type stuff, although I do struggle with my hearing and strong accents.
I am SI more often as of the last week, I have loved the days when I had good amounts of energy, but sadly they are not consistent and I so want them to be, particularly before Winter, the lack of light really bugs me.
KC I hope that you get to see some interesting things and places, although I can see it must be easy to be distracted by Kittie caring:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

Sadly having more energy (most of the time) doesn't preclude me procrastinating and avoiding doing stuff (so many frogs! ):rotfl:
Hope you've had a good day KC whether out and about or snuggling up with kitties (or both!)!Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

after hours of kitty snuggling and texts and phone conversations on the house (we've had an offer! Two days its been on!) I walked along the Thames Path on the south bank - up and down one of the wiggles on the Thames
It was good - the wide river, the boats, all the new developments, the weird shops, the very different charity shops ... I loved it.
Cats have had a mad hour since I've been back, I keep running about to see what they've destroyed :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Tomorrow - I'll get cash from the bank on my credit card, buy an Oystercard, and go to either the Serpentine or the NAC2023: the year I get to buy a car0
