I'm glad to be at work today for a rest! 12 hours on Saturday and 14 hours yesterday plastering, snagging and putting up lining paper. Our hall isn't all that big, it's just got high ceilings and awkward walls to paper. Finally got the first coat of paint on the ceiling and the skirtings undercoated last night. It's been a productive weekend but I'm bloomin' knackered! Will paint skirtings & ceiling again tonight, walls tomorrow then it's ready for the new carpet on Wednesday
Sorry for not updating on Friday but things have been hectic. Yes! The car sold on Friday which is a relief. I'm going to sit on the money for now as I have an expensive few months coming up, TV licence next month then car insurance in October. But unless I have a major catastrophe between now and then, my plan for year one will be achieved! Hopefully it'll be plain sailing from here onwards, but I'm sure something will come along and throw a spanner in the works, time will tell....
4 sleeps til payday too so just need to coast through this week. You can have results or excuses, but not both.Challenge - be 14 Stone BY XMAS!

Another night of decorating last night and the same again to look forward to tonight! At least it's keeping me busy and not spending any money, another NSD yesterday but today will be a spend day as no lunch with me and the car needs fuel.
The in-laws treated us to a Chinese last night as they were round helping us with the painting. Unfortunately that's been 4 nights in a row we've eaten take-aways. This needs to stop.
Also had someone round last night to assess the wall at the back of the garden and it's not good news. The wall needs to come down. The damage that's been done by the ivy and other overgrowth is too severe to salvage anything. The wall is estimated as being circa. 1930 but it's been partially built against a much older and sturdier sandstone wall. The offending ivy etc has taken root between the walls and over time the brick wall on our side has deteriorated and bowed under pressure from the trunk of the overgrowth, which is actually growing through the wall in places.
Hoping to have the existing brick wall demolished next month and will then decide on best plan for reinstatement. This isn't going to be cheap.....
Our next door neighbour is in the same predicament so we're doing the work as a joint effort so at least some of the costs will be shared. Updates to follow on this part of the saga! You can have results or excuses, but not both.Challenge - be 14 Stone BY XMAS!

Great news about the car. :T
Well done on the decorating. Good news that the neighbour is sharing the pain with the wall."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Thanks! Great to hear from you again.
I'm absolutely sick of the sight of take away food so no more for a while!
I'm going to update my year 2 plan at the end of this year as I need to carry forward the renewals for insurance etc., and I have a few things in the plan that I want to alter slightly.
I have 4 weeks to shift 10lbs which is absolutely achievable. My mother goes to slimming world and has reached her target weight - I'm actually considering going with her...You can have results or excuses, but not both.Challenge - be 14 Stone BY XMAS!

There's no harm in giving slimming world a go! I know a lot of people that have dropped a lot of weight following the method. I follow it at home, not so much to lose weight every week (because i'm not really overweight) but more to adopt a more healthy attitude to food, cooking from scratch and portion control (i.e. having 1/3 of your plate 'speed' food, rather than just bulking up on all the carbs!
Two friends of mine have lost multiples stones each on the diet and they now still use it now to maintain their weight, despite not going to a class anymore.

This week I am starting Slimming World. Had a bit of a blow out on Saturday, felt rough yesterday so I've decided enough is enough. I'm not managing to get the weight off like I used to so it is time to try something different.
I'm also going to re-start recording my weekly stats on here like I used to, they helped me keep a tally of how I was performing.
