That's awesome news Rab! Congratulations! Working 4 days will maybe allow you more time with your little one too? That'll be lovely!

So pleased to see the sale of your wife's house has gone through - they dragged that out didn't they? All's well that ends well, though. A new chapter just in time for 2019 indeed!

Train driving is a great sector to get in to

Ok , its shifts but you get lots of down time and the oppurtunity to earn a few extra £££ on if you wanted OT

    Thanks everyone :)

I've handed in my notice and my last working day is 21st December (due to construction industry holidays I'm then "on holiday" until 6th January)!!!

Not starting training until end of January so a whole month off to refresh, relax and refocus before the new career begins!

Will be completing a full household budget with Mrs fatrab over Xmas, updating a monthly SOA going forwards as I have been doing this year and working out where to make further savings as the year goes by. Things are going to be tight for the next 12 months. But keeping a spending diary and my DFW diary up to date is going to be the way forward for me.

So I probably won't post much more on this thread, I'll post a link to this thread in my new diary on Jan 1st!

Thanks again to everyone for reading my ramblings over the course of 2018. Have a great Christmas and I'll be back after the bells!

    Cheers :)
