Oh my you've gotta love the keyboard detectives that have come out. Obviously you guys are more capable than the police... since ops already said the bank aren't interested in the fact she has a crime number, implying she has involved the police.
Her position, although not one I'd be happy to accept, is not really that hard is it. In fact it's very simple, the bank are on the verge of saying she's liable for the fraud and she is therefore looking at damage limitation.
So rather than inspector mse coming out to play maybe we should take the facts at face value.
As for the payments op, for the time being I'd recommend ignoring the latter transactions until they are taken back and arguing the two withdrawals. Maybe you'll get lucky and they will be absorbed by the bank, but if they are not you can appeal them when they become an issue. Imo no point bringing it to their attention and doing the work for them.0

you get a crime number when you report a crime. same as when someone hit my car. as it's the date you reported it plus a few numbers. and I've researched it. alot if banks are refusing to pay out. so you then have to take it further. I can't even remember whete without looking back. ombudsmen I think. and it's a long process. so for the sake of time and energy and god knows what forms, id rather leave it and lose 500 and call it a valuable lesson learnt. as gutted as id be im not wholly desperate for 500. if it's a case of emails I might for the full amount. but if it's letters and forms and ringing around then I don't have the time or patience at the min for 500. if the store purchases are going to.come out, which I don't see why they wouldn't, I'm just puzzled at why they haven't as yet, then yes I would take it further for 2k0

You don’t get a crime number for that and if your numbers the same you ain’t got one for this incident either.0

OP - I'd rather lose £500 than £2000 too, but I don't understand why you'd rather lose £500 rather than nothing because you don't want the hassle, or you don't want to waste time filling out forms etc.?
To answer the original question for you, I would be 'phoning my bank first thing tomorrow to ask them - they're the only ones who know...0

Your bank might have rejected and returned Asda's first claim. As we've had Christmas and NY over the last week or so, Asda might not have dealt with the refusal. Once they find it they will probably re-submit it to your bank.0

I've since researched and found that a lot of banks are not refunded valid claims and that's why people are having to take it further. so just because the bank say something it's not gospel. people do get shoulder surfed and pick pocketed all the time since I've looked into it. if you're a thieve you're gonna target the person on they're own with a baby n a toddler kicking off.
Yes some people get pick pocketed and shoulder surgery but not all the time.0

Quick thought on the original question and apologies if the detail is in there (I got bored reading all the judgemental replies).
Clearly, the cash was taken out at an ATM so instantaneous however, where the store purchases made in store or online? If online, it might explain why the bank hasn’t reclaimed these as they might have been able to be stopped before dispatch or delivery took place.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

You don't even know the circumstances of the car accident so that's one hell of a comment.AndyMc..... wrote: »You don’t get a crime number for that and if your numbers the same you ain’t got one for this incident either.0
