  • What a shame, did you manage to catch it? I assume you could sew it back on.
  • My TV remote was being very badly behaved so I've bought a new one, arrived today and it is perfect. With all the kids and GC here till New Year the TV will be getting a fair bit of use so a dodgy controller wasn't a good idea.

My other success is a friend recommended a neck cream and it seems to be working. My flax seed oil had improved things but the cream is doing more. It is Elizabeth Grant caviar cream, it was £25 for a 100ml jar so not too bad. They do other stuff so I think in the New Year I might treat myself to their face cream to see if that suits me. To be fair my face is in pretty good shape for 65 and it is my neck that lets me down but I'm feeling much happier about it now.

I do have it, but decided I that particular pearl was right in the way of the necklace I wear almost permanently.

  • I wore my dyed blue and black dress today. I was going to wear the new green jumper over it, but it didn't look right so I just wore a black tee and then a grey waterfall cardigan and my silver necklace.

I might buy a new necklace for Christmas, or actually in the sales after x-mas. I only have 3 of them, one set of earrings and a watch. Very minimalist but I would like a few more necklaces for variety.

I'm going to have to see what that green jumper goes with, maybe my plain black dress.

  • Glad it isn't ruined Polly. I had a nice grey waterfall cardigan as a birthday present. Wasn't sure if I liked it at first but it has grown on me and I wear it all the time now. It is smart but very comfortable.

I'm having a bit of a lazy day before the visitors start arriving tomorrow. I've put the bins out, washed up, made breakfast and lunch but otherwise have been sitting here sending e mails and reading. I've got a carol service to go to tomorrow.

Had a lovely evening out with my youngest son and his girl. She doesn't cook so the joke is when she says she is "cooking" what she really means is that she is taking us out for dinner. So she "cooked" last night. Bless her.

Neither of my DILs is really into cooking - good job I taught my sons well.:rotfl:

Had a quick turn round Asda. I think I'm about done now.

My eldest son is cooking the turkey for me because my big oven has died. It's beyond economic repair apparently. The small top oven is ok for now and fine when it's just me but not big enough for turkey, not even a turkey crown.

I too noticed there were loads of shelves devoted to stuff like cakes and snacky rubbish etc. And it was crazy how many products had end dates before Christmas. Theres going to be some serious discounting going on.

They were already reducing Christmas decorations and cards. Obviously trade is not good. There weren't really many shoppers either. I guess it's true people just aren't spending as much, either that or more people are playing a game of chicken, waiting for the reductions.
  • I heard that Aldi are giving all the leftover food to homeless charities and foodbanks on Christmas Eve so hopefully it will all get used. Better than landfill.
