Well I had a nice little mooch round the charity shops.

Picked up some grey straight legged per una jeans, a Gorgeous blush pink top with pin tucks and covered buttons which was trimmed with lace (need a camisole to go with it because it is chiffon and a bit too revealing to wear as is) and I don't really know to describe this, but a cream cotton crochet Lacy cape thing, not a shawl because it actually goes over your head, but I thought it would look nice over a strappy dress or top. Very Stevie Nicks, :rotfl:

in fact all three items are a bit "rock chick". Lol.

Spent just £8 on the lot. :D.

That's brilliant news about your son's A levels sugarbaby. Delighted for him and for you! What a star.:T

I've had my DD" and DGD2 staying for the last couple of days. They've just left for home so bedding is in the machine!

They wanted to go shopping today so it gave me the chance to browse in the shops too. I didn't stop at browsing though. I bought some culottes. I've wanted a pair for ages and I think these will fit the bill as they can be dressed up or down.

I bought a toffee coloured fine knit jumper too but that was a sale item so didn't break the bank.:)

I've got a number of things in that olive green colour too chanie. I resurrected a long, silky pleated skirt from years ago and I've been able to buy a jumper and a couple of cardis to match. Then I've got the broderie anglaise dress and a pashmina/wrap all in the same colour.

I don't know what 'colour' I am but pastels don't suit and I can only wear white in high summer with a tanned face.

I wore the red Reiss long sleeved top again today as this morning it was wet and miserable. I could do with a couple more long sleeved tops but I think I'll probably wait until the school holidays are over before I go to the shops.

DH is out tonight so I'm going to relax.:)
  • I haven't had my 'colours' done, but yellow suits me, so does bright turquoise, black and grey. Possibly the worst colours for me would be beige or pale pink.

    Hello Ladies,

Today has turned out to be a red letter day for my family. My oldest daughter phoned to tell me that she has won her Appeal for her Employment and Support Allowance and her Personal Independence Payment and the arrears she was owed were paid into her bank account today. :j:D:)

Sugarbaby Congratulations to your son on his wonderful achievements. Congratulations are also extended to your daughter for winning her appeal. :)

Congratulations Sugarbaby to both your son & daughter.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned but the TU 25% offer is on until Monday. I usually use this to stock up on basics & my 13 dd likes their jeggings.

I have been keeping up the fabbing & treated myself to a few new bits.A Soap & Glory foot file. Now it may be a sign that I'm getting old as I never thought I'd be excited by a foot file but after trying countless ones over the years this one is excellent and has made an enormous difference in a couple of uses. At £9 it wasn't the cheapest but I dread to think how much I've spent over the years on inferior ones.

Also got some Nip & Fab Dragon's Blood serum & their No needle Moisturiser. Early days but my skin definitely looks smoother & more glowing. i've also started using Aldi's Glycolic wipes which are a copy of the Nip & Fab ones but £2.49 instead of £12.49:money:

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

    Hello Ladies,

Thank you all for your good wishes for my son and daughter. Very much appreciated. :):)

I gave my son a monetary reward of £200 as I had promised him £100 for each A he achieved. It was a lovely surprise for him as he had forgotten about my promise. He starts University on 1st September. Exciting times ahead for him. :D

I have never had my colours done and can not imagine ever doing so, as I have the colour of black skin that seems able to wear almost every single colour in the spectrum. I can see how it can be an invaluable service for others though.

I am finding that the Olay day cream that I am using does not suit my skin, so I am going to have to switch to another skin cream. It seems to be too rich and sits on my skin and it makes my skin feel like it can not breathe. :(

Delighted to hear about your daughter's successful appeal and the backdating of payments sugarbaby.:)

It was great to hear about everything going right for you and yours. You've been through some tough times lately what with your health, the financial worries and lets call him W!;)

I thought of you yesterday. When I went shopping with DD2 and we stopped for lunch she was bemoaning how things have deteriorated in Andover (where she lives) both in terms of shopping as their M&S has just closed and good places to eat out. The only place she rated was Pizza Express! So you obviously have good taste.:)

Thanks for the tips. I've just started using wipes for make up and I'll use them more when I have more make up on in the winter. I've got plenty of miceallar water wipes at the moment but I'll try those. when I need some.

My feet are in good condition now (can't recommend regular creaming enough) but it's good to hear about a recommended file. I know exactly what you mean about inferior ones.

You could use up the Olay on your feet sugarbaby. I've been doing that with an Aldi day cream that used to suit me and then started making my eyes water.

In my paper this morning they have a Home section. I noticed that mirrored furniture was featured. Don't you have that in your bedroom LL? Will it be going with you to the bungalow?

Nothing very exciting going on here this weekend. I'm not sorry as sometimes it's good to get back into a normal routine. I definitely eat more healthily at home than when I'm out.

I've done a pile of ironing this morning including the guest bedding. I don't normally iron bedding but I do like the beds to look nice for visitors. DH teased that I should put chocolates on the pillows!:rotfl:

    Hello everyone,
Well today was our day out. Lunch and a bottle of wine in a local restaurant. It was really nice and so good to spend some time with Himself without interruption.
I wore my nice black jacket and smart trousers with a dusky pink top. I did a colour analysis thingy and it said I was a spring person. Pinks, pale yellows, pale green. light apricots. That's good because they all look good with the basic black. I think my basic colour actually is black. It just needs brightened and accessorised .
I think I can honestly say that my skin is benefiting enormously from the regime. I'm just using what I have at the moment and when I use it all up (and there is a lot of it!) I'll start looking at what is best for me. On that subject, I don't often wear make up at the moment (trying to get the skin in better condition) and I'm pretty pleased with what I have just now but could someone recommend a good mascara. One that doesn't go all cloggy?
So all going well. Could do better on focusing on the weight loss but other than that.
Thank you all so much for your encouragment.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

It's a pleasure reading your posts TF. You've taken to fabbing like a duck to water!

So glad you and Himself are taking the time to get out and about together. Fabbing is about feeling good about yourself as well as the obvious practical pampering.:)

I use Benefit They're Real mascara. It's not the cheapest but I like it. I'm quite a fan of Benefit products. I have used Maybelline too, the one in the green and pick packaging.

Personally I wouldn't worry about much make up at this time of the year. I just wear mascara and lipstick in the daytime. In the evenings I'll use some brow highlighter and eyebrow powder. I did have my eyebrow tinted but it wears off after a couple of weeks.

The only fabbing here today has been doing my weekly meal plan and a shop to go with it. As weightloss has been my most successful fabbing thing I always think making sure I eat healthily counts as being fab.
