LL how exciting about your new home. Looking forward to your updates on the refurb.
Seven enjoy car shopping.
Amman happy anniversary.
Sugar looks like the CHILI deal was a good one.
We have been busy with the works being done on our home. The works should be finished this weekend and then we can get on with decorating. We have chosen the paint but need to decide on the dining table and chairs and flooring. I have seen some I like, but I need to show OH.
A few bargain trays this month;
£190 saved in a leather dress that was reduced in the sale - at that price, I couldnt turn it down.
£90 saved on some ballet flats from TK Maxx. They are leopard print, which is something I never wear, but they will look nice with the leather dress.0 -
LL I think it is sensible to move in, do the minimum and see how things work for you. I think you need to live in a house to really understand how it works and what doesn't work. Slow and steady is definitely a good way to go.0

Hello Ladies,
Chanie great bargain buys
I went to my local Odeon to see the film The Bookshop. It was full of beautiful scenery and believable English characters. It was a Silver Screen showing so only cost me £3. I would give this film 9/10
I was not feeling great today because my Pompholyx eczema has come back with a vengeance so I have blisters on my left foot, so I wanted to have a couple of hours of pure escapism. I have had to take it really easy once I got home from the cinema.0 -
Sugar you always amaze me that you don’t let your health stop you from enjoying life.
Good luck with your sons a-level results today.
When I was buying my new work wardrobe, I decided to expand my colour palette, as I noticed that much of my wardrobe was neutral - black, white, navy and denim. I had done my own colour analysis through doing the kettlewell colours quiz, eliminating colours that didnt suit me and analysing what colours I seemed to be drawn to. I have concluded that I am an autumn.
Luckily for me, olive green has been very popular over the last 12 months, so I have been able to buy lots of clothes in this colour, as it has always been ones of my favourites (probably because it suits me and is an autumn colour). I haven’t really liked yellows, but there is lots of mustard yellow on the shops at the moment. I bought a mustard coloured top and someone at work complimented me on it (this person is a web designer, so I guess would know about colour). Then, yesterday, a few people complimented me on a red top I was wearing (literally a plan jersey top, but the colour suits me).
I have enjoyed the structure that wearing autumn colours gives me - by focusing on my autumn colour palette, I have noticed that my clothes compliment each other and items go nicely together. Plus, it had made me try new colours, rather than just sticking to the same old colours.I will still wear my neutrals and sometimes even clothes outside of my palate though, as its fun to shake it up sometimes.0 -
Chanie......I had my colours done many years ago. I am an autumn too. And just like you i found that I was somehow just drawn to autumn colours anyway.
What I found really useful about the colour analysis was that it taught me how to use shades of colour. For example,e for me I have to use warm undertones, so a pure pillar box red, or a warm brick red but never a never a blue red such as burgundy. That was a real eye opener for me.
Whilst I can wear pure blues, I can't wear reds with a blue undertone.
The difference when you get the shades and undertones right is astonishing. The warm tones flatter me and give me a healthy glow, whilst the blue undertones make me look ill and washed out,
Now that my hair is white rather than auburn I find I can wear more vibrant colours too. Turquoise looks good with my white hair, as does silver and silver greys. I have even discovered that I can wear pink......an absolute no no when my hair was auburn.
I love the mustard that's around, I bought a couple of mustard pieces last winter and they really "warmed up" my complexion. And I also bought a lovely olive green sweater last winter.
I have decided I probably could do with a couple of cardigans. I lost my favourite denim coloured one in Belguim. I replaced it with another one but it wasn't as nice so I shall look for another.
I don't really need much this forthcoming winter because I really stocked up last year. Maybe a couple of new pashminas or scarves and obviously add to my coloured glove collection if I see any nice ones in colours I don't have. :rotfl: So seeing that I don't need any clothes for now I am going to start investing in some nice coloured shoes. :rotfl:
Not much planned today, it's drizzling at the moment so because I can't really do much more packing yet I am going to have a mooch round the shops.
Have a great day.0 -

Wonderful Sugarbaby - you have every right to be very proud of your son - he obviously worked very hard and deserved his place at Kings. Congratulations to him.
I had my colours 'done' about 25 years ago! LL - like you I was surprised about the 'undertones' - I'm a winter so black, grey navy are my basics but I suit hot pinks & fuchsia, clear reds to burgundy and any vibrant jewel colour. Can't do pastels of any sort though. I also investigated body types which was very interesting. Im an ectomorph so suit quite angular shapes - if I wear frills or gathers I look like a standard lamp lol.
Busy tody with clearing out paperwork so no fabbing today. I have a yoga session early this evening so will chill after. I'm intending to do a little pampering session in the morning with one of the hyalauronic (sp) face masks and give myself a pedicure. Gel fingernails are still holding up well though
Have good day all xSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
