    Hello Everyone,
Hot, isn't it? But probably cooler here in Scotland than it is south of the border.
Did my nails last night. They are looking neater but ideally need to just grow a little. Very dry so I'm rubbing some oil in before start using varnish on them.
Dressed nicely going out shopping again today. Today's extra was wearing some pearl earrings and a pretty bracelet that I didn't even know I had! Also started taking a multi vitamin and having a piece of fruit to replace any snacking.
    Great oaks from little acorns?
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

    Hello Ladies,

Maman I buy my packs of no visible pantie line M & S knickers from eBay as I always wear black knickers when I am going out. They are really comfortable and make the difference in how your clothing hangs and my clothes do not cling to them.

    TF
I take 2 Bassets multivitamins and a Vitamin D tablet every day. I am improving my healthy eating day by day, but I still need vitamins. I also take Fish Oils every day as they really help my joints and my memory skills.

My Beginners Salsa dance class was an absolute blast! I had a really great time learning the basic steps, going side to side, going back, doing an open side and a right turn. :j:D

The room was air conditioned, but I was sweating. :( I had to wipe my face a few times and drink my bottled water. I was really glad that I had taken 2 500ml ice cold bottles of water with me. :)

The male teacher was a tall, fit white man, that was well groomed and very good looking and he smelt divine. :D It was not a struggle for me to dance with him. ;)

We only had one male beginner, so 2 of the other male dance teachers had to join our group which was so laden with women. :)

I came home on a real high and I can not wait to do my other 7 weeks of Salsa dance classes. :D I had talked of learning how to Salsa so many times and thought it was high time that I just got on with learning how to Salsa.

There were quite a lot of men of all ages and cultures in the other levels of Salsa dance classes.

    Good evening lovely ladies.

    Still no rain here.

I went to acupuncture today. What with that and the heat I have been utterly drained so I have done nothing. I'm now half way through the course and I have to say, that although I still feel wiped out, my knees and shoulders are so much better. The treatments might make me feel a bit rough but they are definitely working. I am delighted with the progress so far.

SUgarbaby your dancing sounds wonderful. I do hope that I will get fit enough to dance again. I do miss it. I have started walking again, although not on needle days and I am back up to 5k steps. I know I need to double that but I'm taking it slowly so as not to put too much strain on my bad knee. I think it's better to build up rather than go mad and set myself back again.

If I can postpone or even avoid surgery than I shall be absolutely delighted. My doctor (the acupuncture doctor) seems to think that I am responding so well that I might be able to avoid going down the surgery route. That would be fab.......

I do need to lose weight of course. A couple of stones would take a lot of pressure off my joints.

I too am eating healthily although it is a struggle in this heat, my tummy really doesn't like and I can't face eating a full meal so I end up grazing so probably end up eating more that way.

Don't know if I'll get to see the blood moon eclipse tonight, it's gone very cloudy here.

    Hi fabbers,

We arrived back home from our holiday at about midnight and have had a busy day of laundry, errands and cinema trip (because we promised DS).
All week, we have been hearing about how nice the weather was in the UK and we had 3 lots of (much needed) rain, accompanied by thunder and lightening, although it was relatively mild.

Our holiday was disappointing for shopping opportunities and most things were made in China rip offs. - Calvin Klein t shirts, Michael kors and Chanel handbags. When I go away, i like to bring back some nice fabbing items to remind me of my trip, like jewellery, leather goods like purses and sandals. Oh well.

We have the weekend and then its back to work on Monday.

    Have a nice weekend.

Having a bath is definitely a plus if you need to sell a property. A lot of people are put off if there is only a shower. Luckily with the house I am buying it is dead easy to reinstate a bath.

I agree with the bit about small people too, a lot of them are actually frightened of showers. Much easier to give them a bath and they do love to play in the bath too.

We have not had a bath in the house where we have lived in for about twenty years. We took it out of our family home when we went to live in Spain, because it needed replacing and we felt a shower would be better for our son and his lodgers, who were living in the house. No problem selling the house, out of the various viewers, only one mentioned the lack of a bath as a negative, the young couple with three kids who bought it never mentioned it at all. I did always point out though that there was room for a bath.

In our Spanish house we had a downstairs cloakroom and an upstairs shower room, no bath.

In the bungalow we live in now, there was a double walk-in shower, no bath. We have kept it and did not see any point replacing it with a bath, especially as we are getting older.

In fact, if I have a bath now, I get in it, wash and then think 'now what do I do?' and get out again. Not in it longer than five minutes, it seems a waste of all that water!

I do not miss a bath, but agree they are better if you have young children.

    Good morning lovely ladies.

    How are we all.

I am enjoying the gentle rain (no violent storms here yet, just nice steady rain). loving the cooler the temperatures and being able to sleep.

Spent yesterday sorting out and prepacking ready for the move, then had a nice pamper session. Today I'm off out with family for lunch. So a nice productive and relaxing weekend.

Have a lovely day, and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Good to see you back chanie :) but not pleased you brought this rain with you!:( Yesterday was cool and blowy but today's really wet and miserable. I think summer's coming back soon though but more typically British.

Thanks for all the bathroom input. It's much appreciated and it helps me to think aloud. I'm still weighing things up and looking at lots of designs online for ideas. I think we'll probably go for a bath and over bath shower upstairs and a shower room downstairs. Then I'm looking at tiles and washbasins. I take the point about larger tiles giving an illusion of space but I think all white might have a similar effect. We also have a painted cupboard at the moment and I've seen ones with mirror doors that might help. I want a traditional basin but most of what I've seen have a 'lip' at the back.

Our basin is in front of the windowsill so the lip would stick up. Not sure how I feel about that.

I decided to get my eyebrows done yesterday, wax and tint. Tomorrow I'm having my nails done. I'm out for lunch on Tuesday with a group of (mostly) women that I used to work with. It's not competitive but I always like to look my best as I know (thanks mainly to this thread:A) that I've worn better than most of them and it makes me feel good.:D

Yesterday a total stranger complimented me on my dress and asked where I bought it from. It was the brown one from Turkey so I had to say 'not in this country' but it was kind of her to comment.

Today I'm indoors in my usual uniform of leggings and a long sleeved top though.;) Just the weather for a roast!:D

Haven't checked in for a few days. I think I was beginning to take over your forum.
However, just wanted to confirm that I'm still sticking to my plan and feeling all the better for it. Really need to be a bit more focused on the weight loss, though. Going to make a real effort this week.

    Hello Ladies,

Despite the rainy weather, which was so welcome after the heatwave, I had a really good weekend. :D

On Friday my friend A invited me to meet her 'new' man and some of her other women friends at a local nightclub in Tooting Bec. My friend drove me there in her car and drove me home just at the end of the night. I had a great time. I was asked to dance by lots of different men, all of whom were good dancers. At times I just had to relax and let them take the lead. Thank goodness I had my beginner Salsa lesson last Wednesday. One of the men asked me out on a date, but I was not in the least interested. He insisted on giving me his name and number written on a small folded sheet of paper. I threw it away in the bin when I got home. I did some dancing on my own as well. I had a brilliant time all round. I got lovely compliments about my dancing and one man was going on about how soft my skin felt. :D

My sister H was in London and she took me to lunch in a local Chinese restaurant on Saturday. :D She joined us to celebrate my Grandson's 19th birthday at Rodizio Rico at The 02 on Sunday. We all had great food, cocktails and in my case sparkling bottled water with delicious food. :T My Grandson was really appreciative at my effort to make sure he had a small family celebration meal in the restaurant of his choice. :D

As his Mum and his step father are having extreme financial difficulties, I had to pay for all 7 of us, buy him the tracksuit and hoodie he wanted from JD Sports and I also gave my grandson some money. I gave my daughter £45 to buy her son a present, as she had no money to spare.

My sister H came back to my home after the meal for a visit, then later in the evening, we went to Karaoke together. :D I sang 3 songs:

    1. All Around The World by Lisa Stansfield

    2. No Matter What by Boyzone

    3. Lean On Me by Bill Withers

I also persuaded my sister to get up and sing 3 songs. She really enjoyed the whole evening. :D

I am having pain in some of my large joints today, but it was to be expected as I was so active over the whole weekend. Painkillers and Ibuprofen Gel are taking the edge off the pains. I am having a really relaxing day at home today.

Sugarbaby - You seem to have such a great social life and of how I wish I could sing. Totally tone deaf I am.
