Very cold and dull here too.
Alfie DD1 now has heating fixed late yesterday afternoon. She lives in a very small house which was a new build four years ago when they move in. no apology yet. Still now they have heating thank goodness as the least time from here to there is half an hour and with traffic so much longer and she has to go to work and GS to school.
Firefly sorry to hear of the delays. Since the Shipman case everything seems to take longer.
Shells great you had a good break. So sorry to hear your father has to have second operation. Sounded really cold in Glasgow.
Happy New Year McCulloch. Great to hear you made it home on your great scooter. Hope they send you lots of things to review.
Indie enjoy your days off. I had the shingles jab yesterday and so far no reaction.
Stay warm and be lucky everyone.0 -
Goodness just been out to hang up some towels. I was all wrapped up including a scarf and neighbour is out washing his car in a T-shirt. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:eek:0

Hi everyone  popping by to say a belated hello and hope you've all enjoyed the festivities. Hope it's a lucky new year for comps
xx
Fire**fly, I've just been reading back and I'm so sorry for your loss ((hugs)) xx hope you get the coroners report soon xx
Glad your dad finally had his op Sheils and hope he gets the stent in soon too xx Lots of ops have been cancelled here as that Aussie flu seems to have taken over the area.
Did you get your decorating done in the end Alfie? I got mine done a few days before Xmas and I hate it!The carpet which I had for over a year before I laid it is too stripey now and it clashes with wallpaper! I'm thinking of re-decorating!
I also thought the same as you and decided to get a new tree, only I got the one with the fake snow which ended up everywhere! I'm glad I kept my old one!
Leanfun, that made me chuckle about the driver thinking it was cat food!
I'm off to bed, hope to speak soon! XxBig thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
Morning peeps. Does not seem so cold here this morning as there is no frost outside. Heading out for a paper and some milk in a moment so will find out what outside is like. Hope everyone is well. Good luck with comps today.0

Been serious fog here but it is starting to lift now so maybe get out for a walk later. Looks like DD will be appearing as her Wifi is off - BT has been already but needs someone else as looks like fault is out on road.
She has an essay to do for next week and needs to put in links supporting what she is saying so needs the internet.
Our area has been really bad with the flu as well wingo. It was one of the first areas to get it. Shame you don't like your decorating, expensive enough to do if you like it never mind when you don't.
Good luck everyone

:hello: Hellooeee everyone
Hope you're all ok - it's a glorious sunny day here - actually
fairly warm too (thank goodness).
I had an early hygienist appointment this morning (toothy pegs
all polished and sparkling now) & then spent a couple of hours at
a lovely village nearby, browsing around the quaint shops and
generally enjoying the sunshine.
Did anyone watch 'School for Stammerers' yesterday evening on
ITV? I thought it was excellent - had tears in my eyes, especially
towards the end. All those involved did incredibly well. :T
I hate the sound of this Aussie flu doing the rounds at the mo
wingo/sheils. Sounds dreadful!
 Happy New Year mcculloch29. Great that 'Rossa' got you
back home safely and in one piece. As you so rightly say - he
was the best prize ever. :T I hate it when pavements are icy - I'm
always so fearful of slipping over. _pale_
Crikey - your neighbour must be like an iron man rose - out
cleaning his car yesterday dressed in a t-shirt! Brrrrrr & double
brrrrrrr! :eek:Did you get your decorating done in the end Alfie? I got mine done a few days before Xmas and I hate it!The carpet which I had for over a year before I laid it is too stripey now and it clashes with wallpaper! I'm thinking of re-decorating!
I also thought the same as you and decided to get a new tree, only I got the one with the fake snow which ended up everywhere! I'm glad I kept my old one!
Hi wingo  Nope - didn't manage to finish my decorating
before Xmas in the end. Still ongoing.I'm more than happy
with the walls, need to finish painting the woodwork. Really
not happy with my MSE :money: attempt to save a bit of
money and trying to revamp my three wooden curtain poles in
the lounge.
They just look awful! I resprayed them antique white (had to
do them in the garage) and not very happy with the finish -
so have been looking for some replacements. I've actually had
them for approx 30 years and this is their 3rd makeover so
maybe it's time for new ones.
On the up side - I bought two cream rugs from B&Q and I love
them. :j They're a decent size (approx 4' x 5'2") and were an
excellent price (£28.00 each) - good quality too. Perfect for
laying over the worn parts of my ancient carpet (another thing
to add to my 'items to purchase' list)! Room looks lovely and
cozy now. Puddy cat though is highly suspicious of the rugs
and tiptoes around them!:rotfl:
As for my very old and poorly Xmas tree with the broken
branch - he was sent on his way (via the tip) so will be on the
lookout for a new one come November/December.
Time for a cuppa me thinks! Have a lovely rest of the day
all - take care.
