Just received a 'congrats to all' email from WWF which included
the following Earth Hour info :T:T .......
EARTH HOUR 2018 – WHAT AN AMAZING NIGHT
Saturday 24 March at 8:30pm - with amazing participation and
support from: cities, businesses, schools, landmarks, restaurants,
celebrities, politicians and people all around the world!
Earth Hour rolled across the planet - kicking off in Samoa.
Fourteen hours later it reached the UK, and millions marked the
hour by going Lights Out for 60 minutes.
It’s been amazing to see over 55,000 people make a Promise for
the Planet in the UK; a brilliant way for everyone to make a small
change to help protect our planet. From ditching single use coffee
cups, to refusing single-use plastic, to switching to green energy -
these small promises are the first steps to making the change
needed to protect our planet for future generations.
We’ve had incredible support from the SRA (Sustainable
Restaurant Association), with over a thousand restaurants across
the UK marking the occasion. Ariel, have donated £50,000
following all the Earth Hour promises made, Arsenal FC switched
off the stadium lights. Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace, Tower
Bridge, Carnaby Street and over 400 other landmarks across the
UK went lights out.
We’ve had incredible support from our ambassadors and celebrity
supporters. WWF Ambassadors, Andy Murray and Anna Friel made
their promises. Long-time WWF supporter Ellie Goulding summed
up the mood best: “I don’t think people realise how much power
they have.” Ben Fogle even tweeted about turning off lights despite
being in the Arctic Circle.
You can still do your bit by making a Promise for the Planet. See
you next Earth Hour!

:hello: Good morning everyone
Hope you're all ok - it's going to be glorious weather today,
sunshine for most of the day.
Got quite a busy day today - must start getting provisions
in ready for Easter (family are all coming to mine).
Also planning our Easter Egg Hunt with an egg-stra special one
for my little 4yr old GD. :grinheart
I've already got eggs stashed away for everyone and also bought
a beautiful Nutbrown Hare rattle for rainbow baby.
Had to shrink the photo but the wording on the ring part
says 'I love you'. :grinheart
4yr old also loves all Nutbrown Hare related toys and already
owns a much loved selection.
Have a wonderful break away sheils, enjoy.
Must fly - have a lovely and lucky Monday all and please take
care whatever your plans.

Alfie thanks for the info on WWF. For ages now we have programmed ourselves to turn lights and switches off. Especially switches overnight.
How businesses have used so much plastic in presentation of products is a big worry.
We recycle but not sure how effective it is as so much is all put together. We can but try.
Alfie like you we need to go shopping for family coming. Our local coop had a delivery over the weekend but shelves are still very bare. Love the hare rattle.
Sheils hope you have a good journey and your DS has enjoyed his break from work. Great he has you to come home too.
Here sun was shinning but dull again now. Hope everyone has a good day and be lucky.0 -

:hello: Good morning everyone
Hope you're all in fine fettle this morning. After a
glorious spring-like day yesterday - today it's still very mild
but a tad wet!
I agree about plastic wrapping leanfun - it's a ridiculous
amount and so unnecessary! _pale_ I try to buy goods now with
very little packaging (which is a challenge in itself)!
Sounds as if you were a busy bee out in the garden yesterday
fire**fly.I managed to get out briefly to have a quick potter
about. Also had to top up the fat balls containers
again for the birdies - they seem to be a favourite at the mo!
Don't all faintbut I've actually managed to post another
competition this morning! Hope it's not a duplicate but I
did a search and nothing came up.
I found it when I was preparing my Betty post yesterday
evening from here: https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5817556
Got another busy day but I must try to keep up with
entering comps too!
Have a lovely and lucky day all and please take care
whatever your plans. xx

I put 2 out day before yesterday & they've all gone again!
well done finding the comp to post :T:A
sounds great for LO's to do & have shown it my neighbour for her GD's
fingers crossed for them
must get on & try to keep up with comps here too now as
been busy this morning sorting p/work etc out!
have a lovely afternoon all & take care xplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
Afternoon all. Love the pic FireFly. Sun is out here now.
One thing about not cutting back shrubs in autum is we now have some great forsythia in back garden. Great to wake up too. Love it the bright yellow.
Thanks for the comp Alfie. We have GS next week he draws a lot and is amazing for just seven. When we won bedroom Hammonds joined us up with Woodland Trust. Have to say I had not heard of them before.
DH is not completely better but needed a repeat prescription and our Loyds chemist around the corner has closed. The one up the hill is so inefficient that he opted to go into town to Boots. We will see how that goes. Very sad when local chemist was taken over but that our Lloyds was good too.
Count me in with not catching up with comps. Good luck everyone.0 -
love forsythia shrubs leanfun must admit its one of
my fave shrubs for early flowering
we have a couple growing up the side fencings & they are
always a joy to see,
sad they have closed your local chemist
not good for elderly/disabled/people without transport
or those who have to rely on others to fetch for them
I do hope DH feels better soon xxplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
Morning all,
Just popped in to say we are having a lovely break and the weather has been fine and no snow. Went to see Peter Rabbit yesterday and it was brilliant.
Popped into McDonalds for a McFlurry yesterday and won another one on their Monopoly game so will need to get another one today!
Going to walk into Newcastle along the river this morning I think. It is quite a long walk so probably get the bus back.
Heading to Tynemouth tomorrow.
Don't think our Forsythia is doing much at home yet. will check when we get back. We have a few bushes.
Good Luck to all.

:hello: Good morning everyone
It's another damp start to the day here!
Yesterday the weather brightened up as the day went on - we
enjoyed a beautiful sunny afternoon/evening.
It seems as if today may be the same.Another benefit of
longer days!
Your forsythia shrubs sound glorious leanfun - they bring
a beautiful splash of colour to the garden.
I took myself off to Beaulieu yesterday (to my favourite
garden centre) and treated myself to a few gorgeous
Primulas/Primroses to plant in my tubs. Beautiful
colours.
Lots of horses and donkeys making the most of the sun
(en route to the garden centre) including a huge herd of
cows - slowly ambling along the road. Lovely to see! :j
I'm so sorry to hear that your local chemist has closed
leanfun.Makes it very difficult for all, particularly the
elderly or people without transport. Sending get well ((hugs))
to your DH - hope he feels better soon. xx
Posted the following link in the Betty thread this morning -
thought it was lovely.:A

your plans. xx
