Goodness I cannot believe how cold it is out there. Nipped over to shop for a couple of things and it is so icy cold that it was catching the back of my throat. Had a look down the road at electronic clock at it was saying minus four degrees. So that is me in for the day. Have taken a couple of chicken thighs out of freezer to make a pot of soup. May also make some dumplings to go in it. Hope you are all safe and well.

Hi everyone - thanks for the messages! We have got home safely and without too much bother. Luckily Cockermouth area didn't get any more snow so the roads were OK until we got near Carlisle where it was snowing. There were a few drifts on the road but we weren't really held up. We had been meaning to shop in Asda at Carlisle but the car parking spaces were full of snow and it looked dangerous so we just got petrol and drove on. Stopped at small Tesco nearer home so all stocked up.
It is trying to snow now and pretty windy. DD didn't get to her placement today and DS2 and gf snowed in. DS3 couldn't get to his work as no buses and snow up to his knees he says. (he was off to build an igloo with friends!)
Hope everyone stays warm and safe.
Going to do a few comps now. Good Luck all.

Goodness wind has really got up here and still have snow falling. God knows how it will be in the morning. DS has not even tried to get home from base. He is staying the night as he is on duty first thing. Hopefully everyone is safe and well.

glad your DS is better & it wasn't the flu x

could do with someone making one here for
the semi feral cats to shelter in
been out to feed them but feel so sorry for them
out in this weather so we've put makeshift shelters
out for them just hope they will be ok,

keep warm & safe all x

Morning, that was a nice thing to do for the cats ff, hope they used it. We had snow from 2-late yesterday, and more expected today. Will have to go out back and clear a spot for Charlie to have a poo later as he won't squat his bot on the snow, can't say i blame him. I wouldn't want to either..lol. He don't know what to make of it out there and usually spends 20 mins examining all the garden first thing of a morning to sniff who has been in the garden. Not this morning he was in and out.

    Morning all,

    Hope everyone is OK.
Feeling quite glad to be home when I watch the news. There isn't much snow left around us but the wind is howling. It is the first time I have felt cold in bed for a long time! I think drifting snow is the main problem in our area.
Just going to stay in and do some comps. DH has some bread on the go and we will make some homemade soup later.
    Stay safe and good luck.

A little more snow here overnight. its not much but now have icy road and pavements again. DD1 has just arrived with GS. She took him home after work last night as the school thought they might open today. Its no fun as its about half an hour journey each way. GS just said motorway was clear.
She!!!8217;s gone off to catch a train.

Firefly so pleased you didn!!!8217;t try to go out to news agents. I was just remembering years ago a friend broke an arm slipping on ice just going to put rubbish out.

Indie agree with your Charlie made me think Brrr to the snow and ice.

Hope everyone is warm. Take care and good luck.
