Alfie just heard from DD2 and lots of Snow here way. Her work is closed School and preschool closed. She was dressing them to go in garden and make a snow man with them. I don!!!8217;t think we ever had that much snow here even though garden is covered and now looks icy. Hope you are ok.
Thanks for croissant Firefly.

Morning peeps. Hardly slept a wink last night. I have never heard wind like that it is still going now. Schools still closed here. Phoned sister last night to see how she was getting on with going in and out of work . She said it was a nightmare. She is an MLSO in the Western in Edinburgh. She is now staying with her friend a 20 minute walk away from hospital. Sis lives in Corstorphine so there is no chance of her walking in from there. Like me she has Rheumatoid Arthritis so it can agravate it and make it flare up. My left wrist and hand have flared up again so as well as medication sitting with a heat blanket on it. DS is hoping to get home early afternoon so fingers crossed he makes it safely. We are supposed to get more snow over weekend. Feel sorry for gritter drivers as it must be a nightmare for them to try and keep roads clear with so many cars stuck on them. Anyway hope everyone is well and keeping warm.0

:hello: Good morning all
Brrrrrrrr! It's really chilly here. Had freezing rain on top of
the snow through the night - absolutely treacherous conditions
out. I was so cold last night I had to put extra blankets on
my bed. Puddy cat is still sending up the zzzzzz's on them!
Just watching ITV and they've been chatting to a lady in
Siberia. She was laughing at the term used over here ('Beast
from the East') - apparently it's fairly warm there at the
moment at -31 _pale_ and winter temps are usually -50!
I was due a dental appointment today (nothing urgent - just
a couple of new fillings to replace ancient ones) and thankfully
the receptionist rang first thing to say all appointments had
been cancelled due to weather. They've rescheduled
appointment for end March.
It's unusually quiet here, think everyone's tucked inside keeping
warm apart from some youngsters out enjoying the snow!
That was such a lovely thing to do fire**fly, :A putting food &
shelters out for the semi feral puddy cats. They must have
been so thankful especially in this type of weather.
Lol at Charlie this morning indie with you having to clear a
spot in the snow for him to use! :rotfl: They've just been
discussing the very same subject on 'This Morning' re dogs
not wanting to 'go' in the snow! :rotfl:
leanfun - it seems years since we've had really bad snow
down my way - definitely no gardening for me at the mo!
Stay safe and warm all.

Afternoon peeps. Neighbour was down earlier. She is a member of the church that is more or less straight across the road from me. Last two nights they have been open to try and feed and house the homeless. They are open again tonight and over the weekend and she asked if I would go over and help with cooking. They have loads of donations but nothing really fresh. So went over to butchers and got a load of mince and explained to him what it was for and he has donated A full big bag of potatoes, carrots, onions and swede. Also some ham bones. He is also going to shred some suet for me. He is going to run then down in his van. So we can all get mucked in later. Explained to neighbour it will probably around 4/5pm before I can get over as DIL is dropping GK's of till DS gets home. It restore your faith in people. Neighbours hubby is off to town centre with leaflets and police are going to help out if they can. Minister has contacted Social Services and Council so maybe they will get their finger out and do something. I know our Provist very well so have been trying to contact him and see what he can do. His home number is ringing out so I take it he is on duty somewhere . Have left my name and number with his office. (they wont tell me where he is) and I do not have his mobile. Neighbour cannot believe how much I got from butcher. Explained it was the amount of mince I asked for that had him curious lol (10lbs)0

Well done Rose and your neighbour and community. Will be thinking of you this afternoon with your big bake off. Take care. Hope you have someone to help you with heavy pans.0

They have huge catering pans at church hall leanfun hopefully will not have to lift them from cooker . They also have a 6 burner two oven range. So fingers crossed. Texted DS who phoned me back and he is now on his way back to base to pick up sleeping bags that are not used any more and emergency blankets (think they are those silver ones that are used to keep heat in.) Luckily he had only left 20 minutes before. The guy in charge of the stores is going to see if there is anything else he can have. His boss has ok'd everything so nobody is going to get in to trouble.0

:hello: Good morning all
Hope everyone's ok despite the dreadful weather
conditions of late.
It's actually looking a bit brighter here this morning
and a degree or so warmer. The sun is trying to show
itself and even the birdies are singing away. It
certainly looks a bit more cheerful outside!
May see if I can get out later to get a few provisions in,
although will have to watch my step because it's still
snowy/icy out. Think we had more freezing rain through
the night.
Hope all went well yesterday rose. :A I do love to hear
of people/communities coming together in times of need.
I've seen/heard of so many wonderful stories of
kindness over the last few days. :A
Have a safe day all, please stay warm and take care.

Morning, the snow here has started to thaw and have been told temps will be 6 degrees, so hopefully weather is changing for the better now.The sun is out already.
Well done rose that is a lovely thing to do in your local community and as a ex RN wife i know how they help when it's needed. Seeing and reading how people come together at times like this restores my faith in humanity.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.0
