Morning everyone, it's raining here but not heavy.
Well done on the mag win leanfun ,Hope the weather stays ok for your GK's flight. It will be a great surprise for your other GS when he realises they are with you.Our trains are the same here, hit and miss wheather they are running from one day to another.Fingers crossed you can get to see your sister.
Have a good trip away sheils, well done on the hamper win for DD.She will love it. Work was hectic yesterday but that was more to do with the staff on and trying not to do their jobs properly.
I am off shopping later for the last few things i need for next week.Hope you all have a lucky day.

Thankfully the trains were ok today and I met my sister at lunchtime. It was surprising how many people were on the train as it’s Tuesday. I have not seen her for ages. My sister is very worried because her eye sight has determinate again over the past couple of weeks. Fortunately she has managed to get an appointment at the hospital tomorrow. If she was a bit older she would be retired now but she’s one of those having to work longer before she receives her state pension. It was good to see her and her husband. Just hoping they can do something for her.

The game I won came yesterday and most of the writing on the box is in German so I hope there are some English instructions inside or on the app that comes with it.

My DD2 sent a message today to say they have wrapped some of my winnings she took back with her as presents for some of the children’s school staff. I’d saved an assortment of small things.

The days seem to be going by quickly. Hope you had a good journey Sheils.
We still have a bit more shopping to do Indie.

Take care all and good luck everyone specially with advents.

Glad you got to see your sister leanfun.Hope the hospital can help her. I know what you mean about not retiring yet as i am the same. I was so looking forward to retiring now have to work another 6 years. It makes me cross to think as we are living longer we have to work longer, that's all well and good but it don't mean we are all going to be well enough to work.It would have been nice to have had a choice.(rant over, lol)
I won a daily yesterday a spy kit. Backpack, spy glasses notepad i think so youngest nephew will love that.
Hope you all have a lucky day.

Indie well done on your win. Just right for your young nephew. Hope it comes quickly.

Some good news. My sister phoned from the hospital and doctor says she has viral conjunctivitis. Sister said she doesn’t have any conjunctivitis symptoms but doctor said that can happen. She gave her drops for three weeks saying it will clear and her vision should go back to usual. Also doctor is going to see her in two weeks. So great news my sister has had glaucoma for 12 years and the drops have stopped eyesight deteriorating even more.

Indie sorry you are in the same situation. I never understood how they changed the pension age without us hearing much about it. I was fortunate that I retired at 60. I know years ago I met some American women through work, about the same age as me who were going to have to work a lot longer before they received pension.

    Good luck all.

That's great news for your sister, i have never heard of viral conjunctivitis but it must be a relief for her to know it will go back to usual in a few weeks.
The spy prize turned up yesterday, lol. so they must have sent it before the email. That's great as it's another present for nephew.
Ref the pensions there was a group that took the goverment to court over it as they didn't have enough time to save more ect but they lost. But well done for them for trying.
It's a wet, cold and dark day here at the moment and the wind is blowing a gale,i have a few things to pick up at Tesco's later but won't be hanging around.
Hope you all have a lucky day.

    Good Morning,

Been having a lovely relaxing time and making full use of our hot tub!
Went to Scarborough yesterday and had some lovely fish and chips there.
Not been able to enter a lot of comps on the free wifi here or access my emails. I could last time we stayed which is odd. Anyway, not been terribly lucky so won't worry about the lack of entries although there were one or two I had wanted to enter every day. The emails are a pain though! Did access them in Scarborough. Bought a nice outfit for Alfie in M&S yesterday. Will be heading home tomorrow.

Glad your sister's eyes are ok leanfun, must have been a worry.

I stopped work when I had DD and like everyone else expected to get my pension at 60. Think I am almost exactly a year younger than you indie.
I will get my bank pension at 60 but it won't be that much. Luckily I get a pension from my deceased first husband which allows me not to work and I can enjoy DH's retirement with him. DH had to retire at 58 anyway as his neck and back were seriously deteriorating with manual work. Think Royal Mail were happy enough to pay people off! Their retirement age was 60 then anyway. Can't imagine how some people will be able to keep working so long but expect they will be able to get sickness benefit instead.

Off for a forest walk now.

Morning,Sounds like you have had a good time sheils. Hope the journey home was ok.We have had torrential rain over night and early hours this morning. I did look out the window around 2 and it was bouncing off the roads. It has stopped now and seems to be brightning up a little but still have to have lights on.DS and his GF are working today so the day is mine.I have tidied up and put washing away, going to do some comping now.
Hope you all have a lucky day.

Sheils hope you have a good journey today. Great you have enjoyed your break. I had thought we would go and visit my brother this week and stay with DS who lives not too far away but we were running out of time. Will go in new year weather permitting.

Indie great your win turned up for nephew. The game I won came the other day. It was a win from School Run but came from Austria. Most of the writing on the box is in German but one sentence in English. You have to use an app with it. I now have three games for them to play.

We still have a number of things to do here but we are getting there. I am going to give up on the advents after today. In fact originally I was only going to do a few but have been sucked in. Ho Ho lets hope we have some wins.

Indie sorry to hear about the rain seems sounds really bad. Good luck with the comps.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Thanks indie and leanfun had an ok journey home apart from some fog on the A66.
Back to all our cards which was funny having them all there at once!
Will have to get them and the tree up tomorrow and think about buying some food for the festive season. DD will be here on boxing day night and we will have a houseful on the 27th when DS2, GF and GS arrive too. Parent will be coming up too so going to have a buffet. Will be strange not having DS3 there too but he is enjoying a change of scene in Austria although working hard. Think DS1 wishes he was coming too as air really bad in Sydney just now.
It is nice to be back to having access to my emails! No WEMs anyway though. Missing our hot tub already.

Morning, took DS's GF into work for 6.30 this morning she usually starts at 10 but is doing overtime. Tesco's is already busy at this time of the morning. I got a few things but am going to Asda's later with nephew, to pick up his last bits.
Glad you had a good drive back sheils,I have been watching the news regarding the fires out there and they said the air is bad with the smoke, and heat although this morning they did say the temps should drop today but it's the winds that are not helping the situations.I hope it rains for them soon and puts the fires out.
I have gone to doing just a few advents now leanfun, not many good prizes this year.Let's hope we all have a good win soon on them. I have won £1.60 on Topcashback so far but like everyone else get to just 1 for the big prizes then stop, lol.I am working tomorrow, yes they need staff, lol.(thought they might need us) i was offered wed and thursday as well but was doing other things.Anyway i hope you all have a good weekend.
