Just popping by to wish you all a very happy new year and hope everyone's had a lovely Xmas
It's been a quiet kind of Xmas for us as we lost my mother in law on the 22nd due to lung disease and she would have been 72 new yrs day. We have to wait until 14th for funeral due to Xmas period. It was unexpected but it has brought DH and I closer together again.
The week has just flown by! I started a big jigsaw puzzle with DD and we've been at it all day but it's still nowhere near finished!Maybe I should just stick to comping!
Nice to see some old compers back on here tooI remember you gingerchick
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -

Morning, thanks ff, i will try to remember that when searching again. Sorry to hear about your MIL wingo. Never a nice time to loose someone. Good luck with the jigsaw. I have a couple here i keep meaning to start but never seem to have the time to do them. I should just start it and then have a go when i have 5 mins. I have nothing planned as yet for the day other than taking the tree down. Hope you all have a lucky day.0

Hi mansey. Lovely to 'see' you. Also wishing you good
health, happiness & a prosperous New Year - may the comping
fairy pay you many visits during 2019!
Well done with winning the Pink Gin indie, brilliant prize, first

for sharing.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your mother-in-law wingo.
It's always a difficult time, sending ((hugs)) to all. xxx
Good luck with completing the big jigsaw, that brought back
memories of my mum, always had a huge jigsaw on the go,
in between doing many other things, mum was ace at multi-
tasking!
I spent all day yesterday catching up with comps,so more
or less up to date now, just can't believe how many there
were!

Good Morning,
Feeling cold here this morning too Alfie.
Well done on the pink gin indie. Don't like ordinary gin but have been assured by DD that I would like the pink. Have a miniature of it in the cupboard that came with the Product of the Year bag so must try it sometime (before someone else drinks it)
Sorry about your MIL wingo, horrid at this time of year.
Going to take down the cards and tree today, ready to get back to normal tomorrow. We have extra days holiday in Scotland.
Must get a few comps done.

Morning chilly here too.
Thanks for all the New Year wishes. Let’s hope for a good one.
Mansy thanks and lots of luck for competition wins in coming year.
Welcome back Alfie great you had a good time with family. Lovely to spend time with your GDs.
Indie well done on your Gin Win. I don’t think I’ve ever tried any Gin. When Tesco gave us a free gin I asked GSs childminder if she liked it and turns out she love gin cocktails. It seems very popular now.
Indie it’s brrr to taking a tree down today. Don’t freeze.
Wingo sorry to hear your news. Very hard this time of year and so close to her birthday. I used to do puzzles a lot with our children. GS decided to do a difficult one yesterday and managed it by himself while I made dinner. Take care.
We are off out to a jazz concert tonight on Show Film First tickets. Not really my choice but DH loves it. We have to take DGS up to London with us to meet DD1.
Sheils it’s eldest GSs 10 th birthday today. I sent his present to be delivered today not realising you have extra holiday. So when I found out I was surprised to see it will be delivered today.
Hope everyone has a good 2019.0 -
:hello: Good morning all
Hope you're all in fine fettle. It doesn't feel quite so
chilly today, apparently it's going to be another sunny
day, although it's looking very dull outside at the mo!
Managed to get all my laundry washed & dried yesterday.
The 'dreaded' ironing can wait!I've never done washing
on New Year's Eve/Day - far too superstitious!
I also started to slowly take all my decs down yesterday,
(with mummy's little helper!).Laid them all out &
sorted into different (fairly neat) piles ready to box them up
until next year. Meanwhile puddy had other ideas! She
immediately went into naughty mode with big black eyes &
scattered the lot! :rotfl::rotfl:
The tree can stay up until tomorrow - puddy still worships it
big time & enjoys a quick nibble on the end of the branches,
when she thinks I'm not looking! It'll take me
ages anyway to dismantle it! Always stick to taking the decs
down by the Twelfth Night (5th for us), also have to sort out
Xmas cards & see if there are any that could be used for next
year's labels, before recycling the remainder.
Hope you had a lovely time yesterday evening at the jazz
concert leanfun. I quite like listening to a little bit of
jazz.
Re the gin - I've never liked the normal stuff but according
to son, it's now one of the most popular drinks - with all the
variation such as pink gin! He loves it - so his Christmas
pressie was easy this year!
I've got everything crossed that I'll be in with a chance to
win a recently entered gin hamper comp - then that'll be his
birthday sorted too!
Have a lovely & lucky day all and please take care whatever
your plans.

Morning, it's cold and icy here this morning. The gritters were out last night so i expected it.Glad you got your washing dried Alfie. I took the tree down yesterday and the few decs i put up so it's all back to normal now. I think puddy was just waiting for the chance to play in the decs, lol. Good luck with the Gin hamper comp.I haven't had a drink of gin for years but have also heard it's the drink that everyone is raving about now, there is so many flavours the choice is amazing. Hope everyone has a good day.0

Ho ho Indie I really lost the plot yesterday and thought you were going out in the garden to take a tree down! Hence me thinking it was too cold to do that. I’ve only just realised my mistake. It’s made me smile. We are picking GS up from a child care centre today and tomorrow so ours will come down at weekend. Alfie can just imagine your Puddy having great fun.
Good luck with the Gin comp Alfie. I have entered loads on Twitter, thinking about GSs childminder. Seeing all the comps I thought it must be popular. She’s in her early 40’s and said her Dad also asked What’s with the Gin.
We had a good time yesterday. We went up to London early with GS to meet DD1 with a view to going to Regent street and showing him some of the lights. As a surprise we took him in Hamleys. His face was a picture. Does this shop have all the toys in the world? He’s now into some spinners Blade something or another. So we said we would buy him another one. Eventually we found them on fifth floor. In the sale it was half price at £10 so DH was very happy we only bought one thing and GS was made up.
I’m not into Jazz but DH is in a big way. The concert in St Martin’s Crypt was ok. DHs sister decided to come and join us and enjoyed it. We had a meal there. You all sit around at tables to listen to music and place was full.
Found a WEM when home to say I’ve won a book. Need to find the post.
Keep warm and good luck.0
