Ok. I’m up for both challenges. 2 stone to lose and a LOT of money to make.

I also need to get the house ready for us to move at Easter and for it to be usable as airBnB while we are down south. A good excuse to do some serious flingage.

Thanks for all the support over the last couple of days flylady friends.

    Happy New Year

Good morning wonderful Flylady friends! XXx Thank you for making last year so much more bearable and dare I say, fun? However not one to make new year resolutions, I guess I am last in - again! :o

Thank you ladies for the threads, as ever.

New year, new week, same old ironing board just set up. After last night's shenanigans, with no fireworks to be heard, and only 1 glass of fizz passing my lips, I am ready to go. Having stepped on the scales for the first time in a year ( mainly because they have been buried under spare room carp!), I am definitely in the Slinky To Be challenge for this year.

Have a lovely day ladies. Let the ironing commence! X

Happy new year Flypeeps. I generally just lurk these days but will try and post more. Good to see so many familiar names.

I started the usual weight support thread on the FB group too.

So far today I have taken the tree down and tidied the freezer. DW is inevitably on. I did manage the clea the ironing for the new year challenge that you have ingrained into my routine over the years so I have no intention whatsoever of doing any washing and refilling the ironing pile.

Washin blowing on line - a sheet inc, which I am thrilled about as it's off my bed (I find it better to wash one sheet along with other stuff then they don't form one massive ball) and one was line dried yesterday so I am looking forward to sleeping between them - they'll smell much 'fresher'.
I've prepped a veggie chilli for our family party this afternoon, that's simmering on the hob.
Benny is lolloping around in the garden.
It's a sunny day with blue skies. Suits my mood. So I am glad about that.

  • I'm as bright and breezy as ever because all I had in the way of fizz last night was a glass of cherryade and saw the new year in immersed in a bubble bath.

Dull and overcast here, so going to poke at Himself in the hope that he'll get up without a fight.

    Mondayday - New Year's Day
Just some bits and pieces for those in the mood, if not have the day off ready to start tomorrow. Remember to spend sometime with family/friends if you like that sort of thing.

Hoover out smoke alarms and test
Put up those calenders for the new year :D - DONE
Update calendar/diary with all those important dates - DONE
    Delete some emails/favourites - DONE
Back up photos from phone/laptop etc, enjoy looking over some
Put away any glasses used last night - DONE
Hoover any areas in dire need - DONE
S&S toilets and sinks if required - Toilets degunked
Sort out that drawer/cupboard/shelf which has been on your list forever.

No Laundry – you don’t want to wash away any good luck.

Write a list of 5 things you do that make you happy and 5 that make you sad. Ponder on how to do more of the first list and less of the latter.

    Christmas cards made into tags
    Lounge polished
DW on a clean cycle - Clean cycle finished and DW refilled
    Kitchen tidied

By this time in 2019 I want each room to be a pleasure in which to spend time rather than a constant reminder of what needs tackling and things I haven't done.

I'm also with you both - I intend to have a nice new bathroom (and possibly kitchen) this year and to get rid of / sort out stuff that is in piles in almost every other room :o

Lucky I don't have any work for a few weeks!!! :rotfl:

Fireworks here were really loud (3 bangs were so loud I swear the windows rattled!) but, thankfully, only lasted about 10 minutes.

Have a good day all x

Narco I do dressage too and MAY be going to a competition on Saturday; looks unlikely as my horse's owner's horse box is broken and don't think it'll be fixed in time.

Thanks so much for all the welcome backs everyone; means a lot :)

Out riding by 9.30 and got soaking wet (even down to underwear!) but had a lovely ride and Huck was such a good boy. DH did lunch whilst I had a lovely warm shower and I've ticked off a few things from the list and now we're off to Go Outdoors. Will do more from the list when I get back.

I don't do resolutions but one of my ideas is to try to make better use of my time as it fritters away so fast. I'll have to let you know if it works or not!!

Afternoon all and welcome the new peoples and returners :hello:

    Mumto5
    - sorry to read about your accident and sending some gws vibes

Hugs FBO and condolences to you and your family. What a new year blessing it will be for the other families.

I haven't made any resolutions as such, as I feel in a bit of a limbo atm because not heard yet about our new jobs - if, when, where etc. However I do have the on-going battle of the bulge to fight as well, definitely not helped by the extra food/lack of exercise this time of the year.

It's been down-chucking persistently all day until now, however now the clouds are moving it's getting dark already.

I've decided that I'm back into 'get stuff done' mode today so I've

    Done the dailies
Dusted all through top to bottom
Sorted fridge and chucked/rearranged as necessary
Done a tetris of both freezers
Portioned l/o pot roast and frozen
Taken down calendar, transferred all relevant info and hung new one. Salvador Dali this year - OH's choice but I like it as well
Checked bank accounts and done a money shuffle
    Updated signature on here
    Made lunch and munched
    Spanish lesson done

I'm about to return to the yearly accounts, but need to make a cuppa first and then should see the back of them today :D

Hope you're all having a good day
