Maman no its a bog standard SC - the pot was just in the work top when I took the photo. What I did tonight was just before I added the pak Choi I put the cornflour into a little bowl, and using some of the juices from the SC made a paste which then got stirred into the SC .
It was lovely - perfect for weather like this.
What model are you getting ?
Thanks, I will down load some this weekend.
I have to admit, I like audio books, I often listen to the book of the week when writing reports (I always have to do 2 things at the same time....weird but it works for me)
Think I may stay at home... I should have set off 1.5 hours ago... so that is really my decision made!:D:D:D:D

Hi everyone. Very thick drifted snow here. All schools closed and village pretty much cut off - the joys of living in rural Yorkshire. Plenty food in so we won't starve. Don't really fancy SW food, just want to scoff naughtiest food possible in this cold weather but I will try and restrain myself. Not sure if I'll be able to get to class tomorrow but time will tell. Bit of a shock after Tenerife temperatures last week I can tell you.
Stay safe everyone xx0 -

As a rural Yorkshire lass myself...... I know your cupboards and several freezers will be heaving with food.... for situations just like this!

I've got an ordinary SC too so can't use it on the hob. I was just thinking that I could perhaps cook it all except the pak choi in case I had more than 2 portions. Then add pak choi to one and freeze the rest. I wouldn't want the greens to be soggy.
I can't see why you couldn't cook it in the slow cooker and then finish off what ever portion size you wanted with the pak choi in a saucepan.
That pot used to feed 3 adults (well 2 adults and 1 son who never seemed to be full!) if that's any help0 -
Lots of great Scottish crime writers.
Quintin Jardine, Ian Rankin, William McIntyre to mention but three.
Beanie I'm reading Ian Rankin at the moment. I also like Peter May's Lewis trilogy. Must try the others you mention.
Wild and snowy here, another snow day for all. There's a whole host of birds coming in the garden but as quickly as we put food out, it's covered over.

More snow last night and this morning - about another 1.5" so getting quite deep now! Glad we managed to get out and get some food yesterday - should have enough of most stuff for at least a couple a weeks - apart from fresh fruit and veg but plenty of frozen and some tinned.
Today's plan:
B - porridge with frozen mixed fruit
L - Jacket potato; beans; cheese; satsuma; apple
D - pork chop - not sure what to do with it but probably mash & veg; splash of gravy
HEA - milk
HEB - porridge
Syns - gravy 1; cheese 15g cheese 3

Another snowy day here too. In the shelter of our garden it is now well over a foot deep, but where it is more exposed it is ranging for 1cm to over a metre as the wind is blowing it all over.
Got tonnes of food in, but fresh fruit and veg is getting to be in short supply. Having my daughter stuck at home with some of her friends means they are eating lots. Not going to starve but might start to struggle to stay on plan.
Today's plan:
Breakfast - porridge and fruit
Lunch - HM soup
Dinner - speedy chilli
HA - milk and cheese
HB - oats
Syns - cranberry juice (2.5), and daughter is baking, so will have to eat some.
Main concern at the moment is getting to hospital tomorrow for an appointment.Zebras rock0 -
Snowy here, but not so bad that we can't get to the shops or work. That said, I am working from home today
Menu for today:
B - Baked oats with pear and banana with a tablespoon of maple syrup (2)
L - Not sure to be honest. I really can't face a salad. Had my B choice already. Can't face more eggs. I'll have to think about it.
D - Chicken curry with wholemeal rice. I'll add some broccoli and green beans for speed as I don't think I've had enough veg.
EDIT: I've cracked it! I'll have dinner at lunchtime.0 -
Please could you put me down for 8 pounds for the next challenge?0

Change of plan for lunch - just found some cooked chicken in the fridge which needs using up so it'll be cold chicken; SW chips; & beans; followed by some fruit for Speed.
