Good to be able to catch up with virtual friends when it's too cold and slippy to go out!:)

Today's going to be a bonus day for me. We had planned to meet a friend for a synful lunch in a favourite Italian restaurant and then go to a matinee. Unfortunately, although our snow is fairly minimal, where we had to travel to (about 60 miles away) has thick snow and more forecast so we cancelled.

Instead I've taken some lamb steaks from the freezer and plan to make us a mid week roast.:D I've got plenty of food in for today and can shop tomorrow. The problem will be if the supermarkets don't get deliveries but I'll worry about that when the time comes.:)

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB (half) toast, 2 boiled eggs, HEA milk for drinks
L: stir fry veg with noodles
D: lamb steaks, roast potatoes, BNS and carrots, cabbage, cauli and broccoli
Syns: noodles 1, HM gravy 4

On the talk of relaxing - does anyone have any suggestions for good books for my holidays x

I've just read Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine - very funny and sad in equal measure. Recommending it to everyone!

Sorry I missed your birthday Tweets, hope it was a good one! How annoying having to go to a different school!

Sorry been MIA, had an emergency docs appt on Tues as I've broken out in these massive random blisters on my arm. Only two have appeared, the size of a pound coin, five days apart on one forearm. Not painful or itchy, no other symptoms, I'm not on any medication, no pets, etc etc. The practice nurse was stumped so called in the doctor and she was stumped as well so I'm waiting on blood test results. It just makes no sense - if it were an allergic reaction to something, why only on one arm and five days apart? And if it were a bite or sting of some kind, again five days apart but on the same arm? Weird, weird, weird.

The Beast from the East has hit hard here too. Woke up to a thunder and lightning snowstorm yesterday, though it was pleasant enough during the day to go out for a little run (oh my poor hamstrings today!), but today it's grim - gale force winds and drifting snow. Easily 6" in the garden, and the recycling box is full of it. Hope our Scottish and Norfolk threadies are staying safe and warm!

Was supposed to be my first day in my new job today but they're closed :j Waiting for an announcement at 3pm today about tomorrow so fingers crossed! :D Lovely unexpected day off today just pottering around the house. I too am running low on fresh veg and have no fresh fruit at all, but the freezer is full of SW meals so I'm grand. And the main thing is I have plenty of milk and coffee in!

I must admit to indulging in the odd biccie the last few days, but nothing to what I have been eating recently and my meals have all been saintly. I've made two big batches of soup - carrot & lentil, and leek, bacon & sweet potato.

    Today:
B - Chocolate porridge made with Alpro choc soya (HEB and 4 Syns)
D - Bacon, mushroom and onion omelette (bacon rinds out for the birdies!)
T - SW recipe cottage pie from the freezer with green beans
    HEA - Milk in coffees
    HEB - Oats
Syns - Choc milk (4), sugar in coffees (3 so far)... that's it so far!

Kathryn - please include me in the next challenge, but I want to see how WI goes on Sat before I make a target please. Well done on your loss btw!

    I loved ELEANOR Olivant too.

I'm warm and cozy in Starbucks at the moment with an Americano and the latest Jo Nesbo if you like scandi thrillers

    Waiting to have my haircut. And will then have to cover the new do with my woolly hat to get home !!!55357;!!!56832;
